Attacking Ganon with your sword after Zelda wakes up is useless. He blocks every attack, even parries. The only way to truly beat him is to allow Zelda to shoot at you with a Light Arrow - using the Mirror Shield. When it hits, a final parry will finish the Evil King once and for all.

It seems that Ganon in this installment was older and wiser. He seems to acknowledge his mistakes - recognizing that the Master Sword was what defeated him the first time, and neutralizing it beforehand.

Let me shed a little light on that for a second. WindWaker and Twilight Princess take place in alternate realities. It sounds farfetched but it's true, it all started with Ocarina of Time but if you want details I'll tell ya later. Anyways, both WW and TW take place exactly 100 years after OoT, but they exists in different realities, so there was a Ganondorf in both time realities. In the WW time, Ganondorf was killed. He also died in TW. Basically, he didnt return in WindWaker.

i like how ganondorf is portrayed in the game, you know you are a far cry from the old legend of zelda timeline. and even though ganondorf is an old remnant of that forgotten timeline he too seems to play the part of an evil pirate lord quite well.

his clothing distinguishes him as seafaring royalty of sorts and his skill with dual swords is a testament to how well he adjusted to life on the sea. it's remarkable how grand a villain he is even though he far removed from his own time and place.

Notice how the whole fight is set to play one way, you can't even decide how to defeat ganondorf. You can't even make hits because he won't even register them unless he knows his defense is open. Worst combat, but it looks good to watch sure.

I liked Windwaker, and I liked fighting a bunch of dark nuts at once, but Gannondorf in this last fight was very lacking. Combat as I said is dumb-easy just the same as 'lolthrowrandomslashes' once you do the context sensitive attack.

@dakidukno WW was the first to dumb DOWN combat. I don't know what you are talking about, no zelda before had 'timed' attack sequences as almost the only way to fight enemies. That was dumb and I hated how it felt so 'setup'. Granted it was different but combat is about figuring out howwwwwww to defeat an enemy's defense, not let the game tell you ONLY when you can do a certain scripted move to move further in a fight. @scikoolaid Seriously man? Zelda combat has always been simple. Block, roll, backstep...watch for an opening...blah blah blah. What Windwaker did was make the combat FEEL good. Combos looked flashy and the parry system was SATISFYING because it came down to a matter of timing. I understand where your coming from, it is a tad too easy just to hit a button to win. But Windwaker is also the only Zelda game where you'll ever fight six darknuts at once, making it a perfectly viable addition.
