  • LOL just look at this clowns

  • Many left comments that suggest that they think they are the "perfect beings." However, think about it, if everyone was a racist bigot, as some seem to be, who did not appreciate variety in people (as we do with food, flowers, etc.), then, to others, YOU would be the one the world could do without; they'd see themselves as being better than YOU. Given most people have an appreciation for human rights, bigots are, therefore, the U.S. minorities! But should you die because you are a minority?

  • hate cramies?????????? is it a crime to hate haha, i hate gays, so sue me

  • Is the lady in pink seriously chewing gum?

  • BAH ! BAH ! LISTEN TO THE SHEEPLES . TIME WILL TELL HOW LONG THESE THUGS STAY IN POWER.

  • this is comon thinking i hate propaganda

  • It's more and more likely now that we have instituted the thought police.

  • You know OBAMA just ended our 1ST amendment freedom of speech rights forever, right?

  • What I mean by this is, many crimes are committed because of hate, many more due to plain old anger, much because of greed, and certainly some due to lack of empathy or as a result of boredom...

Things like assault, defamation, inciting violence, conspiracy to a criminal act & so on, these are all already crimes, no matter who you commit them against - only now, if you are NOT one of the privileged minorities, then you have less resource in the eyes of the law, and THAT is intrinsically unjust.

  • Oops, I meant "recourse", not "resource".

By the way, I'm in a religious minority myself (atheist) & other minorities as well (having Aspergers, which some would call a disability), BUT I still think that singling out specific groups and DISCRIMINATING against classes of people who don't fit into those groups is very wrong. I don't support 'blasphemy' legislation because I believe in FREE SPEECH, and I don't support 'hate crimes' legislation because I believe in EQUALITY FOR ALL under the law.

  • Of course every one should be equal under the law but history has shown other wise. This law is a good way to show the people that hate against this certain group is no longer accepted at all that bigotry will no longer be tolerated as it once was.

  • @Gliktch After the Matthew Shepard incident, which is the impetus for this bill, the governor of WY was interviewed by Katy Couric and asked if we would be implementing hate crimes legislation as a result of the incident. I liked our gov's answer, he said we didn't need any new legislation as murder is already illegal in WY.

  • @Gliktch White, straight, able-bodied people? Who cares about them? There's no political capital in protecting that demographic.

  • theres also no descrimination for white straight abled bodied people.

  • lol wow, my first comments (out of probably 1,000) that've been voted lower than -5... I wonder if it was one person with 6 accounts =)

"theres also no descrimination for white straight abled bodied people." - sydelnic

Sorry, but you are incorrect... In Australia (my country), people without aboriginal heritage are discriminated against when it comes to government benefits. In several countries, there is legislation covering 'affirmative action' which discriminates against non-minorities..

  • Also, I don't think I've actually met many 'white' people. Some were very pale pink, some were light brown, but never seen anyone actually WHITE unless they were in costume makeup (or goth :P)

    PINK POWER! lol xD

  • i met an albino once. I wish him some white power.

  • so... your against those same legislations then?

Finally the government responded to the peoples unhappiness and created a meaning law. hurray lets have a parade.

  • "so... your against those same legislations then?" - sydelnic

I'm against legislation that punishes children for the crimes of their parents, and against legislation that discriminates against either the majority OR a minority, except where such discrimination is warranted and logical (like allowing a blind guy to take his dog on the train, but not any derro with his mongrel).

  • Anyone retarded enough to beat up a guy for not liking pussy isn't going to be thinking rationally enough to care about harsher punishments, so laws like that are useless. In fact they potentially create MORE hate by fostering resentment against the minority for being shown special treatment.

Laws should govern actions not thoughts - it's ALREADY against the law to beat someone up, and people do it for all kinds of reasons (boredom, psychosis, greed etc) - why should one reason get singled out?

  • great president achieving great things, thank you for your leadership mr president Obama

  • This video is beautiful.

  • This clip gives me faith in America. Obama is a blessing for this great country as closed minded as an oyster. He will finally make this country worthy of the importance and the power it has on the world.

    Live free. Stop the hate.

  • Jimmy Carter 2.0HD....

  • What are you, mental? It's not wrong to be gay.

  • If you were a part of a minority being discriminated as much as gays have been during the course of history, I'd bet my entire fortune, you'd find nothing wrong with people advocating straight-pride parades etc..

The reason, why straight people don't "go around trying to get the world to accept us", is that we ARE accepted. We are the majority, and do not face discrimination because of our orientation.

Try looking at things from the opposing side..

  • I love you, man.

  • you're an idiot

  • i hope this act starts the slow removal of religion from this country. I hope gays attend church and report the pastors that preach against them. It's going to be glorious >:)

  • Obama said, this new law will "strengthen the protection against crimes based on color of skin, **the faith in your heart**, the place of your birth, gender, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation" This means that CHRISTIANS ARE PROTECTED TOO. We'll see if they actually follow through with that one.

  • THANK YOU MISTER OBAMA.

    I LOVE AMERICA !

I LOVE VALOURS OF USA !

    THANK YOU

    Patrick

  • This man puts to shame other leaders of the world. He certainly makes my PM look like a slow learner. We all must move forward, not backwards. OBAMA u Rock!!

  • What does this mean? How can we criminalize hate! You can hate who you want. Who can you prevent crimes by criminalizing emotions and thoughts. Wow this is Orwellian! Open your eyes people.

  • haha no, "shooter348." it's not just about "homos." it includes you too dummy. do you have a sexual orientation or ethnicity? its about anyone who commits a crime because of any kind of hate. why would anyone be against that? it's very important for gay people in specific because it is the first important law about gays.

  • Hate crime laws exist because we care more about homos than real people.

  • I hope you don't consider yourself a christian, because from the looks of your comments you are in angry. God tells "true christians" to hate the sin not the person and if anything you should try helping these so called "homos" come awy from their sin. The thing that you are ding is persucuting them and preaching hate something that god is'nt about. Don't call yourself a christian unless you are truly gonna follow gods word, because your are only deceiving yourself. GOD BLESS!

  • please don't. The only thing worse than an ignorant fuck preaching hate is a ignorant fuck trying to change people. Why cant christian keep their religious belief to them selves.

  • --and PS: what's up with that Homely Cheerleader, in the Ugly blouse, standing behind the reptile?

  • youtube video comments are manipulated, they show older ones instead of respecting the cronological order of the postings, SHAME ON YOU YOUTUBE

  • obama wasn't elected, he was appointed, and forced down the throat of the poor stupid, and uninformed electorate; he's not a moron either--just not as good of a salesman as he needs to be to sell bullshit to dairy farmers

  • Appointed? Bush was the appointed president. Obama was the clear choice of the American people, and by the polls (56% approval) still is.

  • Fuck Bush, too. Ditto Clinton, HW Bush, et al. Dude--it's a Game; a Big, Fat Lie--the only true Duality is Tyranny v. Liberty: Choose and Commit.

  • wikipedia : Offences_against_the_Person_Act_1861

  • Does that mean that if someone in school beats you up for being gay, that you alert federal authorities instead of the teacher? Of course! Its over their heads, this will stop bullying as long as the kid who hits you calls you fag. Have him removed from school - you can also sue his parents for their home and cars and possessions. Plus they can't beat you up anymore.

  • I'm not christian but that does not mean that I like gays. All that attention that goes to them makes me vomit. There are a lot of other priorities, e.g., end poverty, end a war, end starvation, end unequality, end death penalty, etc. ....

  • so what does unequality include then?

  • if you don't know what unequality is you probably never sufferd it. I can only hope you don't inflict it.

  • Tzushih?

what you're refering to with eating shellfish, mixed fibers, women with periods, is referenced from the old testament.

The old testament is the teaching of the jewish religion. Which is very differnt from the christian religion, which is taught in the new testament.

So ofcourse, christians can eat shellfish, they can be in the same room has a woman on her period, because the new testament doesn't teach against those things, it's ok.

  • ReliableInsider

    1 corinthians 6:9

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

That passage cleary states homosexuality is a sin.

the bible clearly teaches that being gay is sinful.

  • PSSST--KELLEY--THAT's the IDEA: everybody with a sense of Morality, a profession of true Faith, or a relationship with God, is to be designated a CRIMINAL. These Reptiles have a god too. It's not the God of the Universe, it's the False one, who Wishes, since the beginning of Creation that Was it a Big G god.

  • I don't see what you point is. "Isn't there a devision between church and state. I'f we made all our laws on the rule of the bible i don't think women would have a say in anything. We would also beable to stone people for comitting sin.

  • I read somewhere that the "devision between church and state" was to protect the church, not the goverment. Take the government out of the church, not the church out of the government.

  • any form of organised religion is suppressed sexual energy

  • The church is pushing their bullshit into the government. The government needs the protection.

  • Comment removed

  • I think what you find when you actually read this legislation and find out what it says is that anti-Democratic pro-Republican radio personalities on AM radio . . .

    lie.

  • Freedom to gays when the rest of our freedoms are crushed way to go Maobama.

  • A growing number of Christians are realizing that homosexuality is not in any way a sin.

But even Christians who are homophobic and who still think it is are unable to debate away a fundamental tenet of Christianity: we are -all- sinners. Jesus had guidance on this issue that was fairly clear: let he who is without sin . . .

    cast the first stone.

  • homosexuality not a sin? read first Corinthians 6:9-10, if you even have a bible.

  • I'm not a Christian so I don't really care, but don't the same Biblical laws dictate that you can't eat shellfish, wear clothing of mixed fibers, or be in the same room as a woman who's having her period?

  • tzushih--don't try to confuse the issue; I'm guessing you're foundation-compensated, and you know as well as I Christ brought a new covenant, that wasn't about playing picky rules games and spreading divisiveness, like the False Jews of Revelation 2:9 and 3:9, it is about Love, and Peace and Overcoming the Synagogue of Satan. It's sad These have no hope for victory, as smugly as they conduct themselves. I Should feel sad for them; I can't help to have an almost purely absolute joyful Hatred.

  • No, actually, I don't "know as well as you" the intricacies of the various Judeo-Christian sects or what religious jargon like "foundation-compensated" even means. It's all gibberish to me, like comic-book nerds arguing about whether the Scarlet Witch uses chaos magic or hex spheres. I don't have anything against religious Americans and their various ways of living their lives, but I was raised nonreligious and I'm pretty content with that.

  • HAH--"Judeo-Christian..." you're not actively promoting them; you're merely ignorant--or ARE you ADL?

Judeo-Christian: the most deceptive and distasteful newspeak the Liars Handbook.

These still can't win; they're like the demons in the flock of swine who ran off the cliff--all their bullshit, and your promotion of them, whether you are ignorant, or actively lying, is Pointless...Game Set Match.

The End was Written before the World was created--too bad. It Is, what It Is, so to speak.

  • Again, sorry, I don't speak Theologese, so it's all so much jibber-jabber to me. Please do realize that not every American attends a church or was even raised going to church.

    Have a good day.

  • I dont' speak Theologically, either--I'm just a Fool, trying to become less foolish, every day. THESE Guys, however, would have you believe that the unions and the divisions they create are for Your benefit--they serve no one, except those who write their checks--and I'm Not talking about American citizens.

Ronald Reagan, 1982, proved that the taxpayer doesn't fund the government--they pay interest to the banks who create the debt out of thin air, and make us slaves, thru compounding interest.

  • everyone sins, my point was that homosexuality is talked about in the bible. im just throwing the verse out there if anyone wants to read it. anyone interested can make their own conclusions.

  • My Bible says -love- thy neighbor.

It doesn't say hit thy neighbor repeatedly with a baseball bat.

Hate is a sin. Love is not. In fact, God is love.

  • mike huckabee for president 2012 !

  • Hahaha, Mike Huckabee. God loves me, but does He love me enough to make the Republican party kill itself by nominating a white fundamentalist Southerner in 2012?

    ...Maybe He does!!!

  • If you see three homophobic teenagers murdering a gay teenager as he's trying to walk safely home from school, there is nothing "manly" about taking the side of the three criminals.

    Real men hate bullies.

  • Fail.... Defending the law, and attempting to keep it free of rulings based on race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation is not "supporting bullies". It's supporting equal protection under the law.

This man doesn't give a crap about you, or the law. He'll go to any length to set the people against each other, and while he does it, his "progressive collectivists" will bath him in applause because it takes a lot of hard work to wipe your ass with our founding principles.

  • FreedomsReigning,

Providing heterosexuals and homosexuals with equal protection . . .

    is equal protection!

You don't seem to understand the law.

The perpetrators of hate crimes will be prosecuted by federal prosecutors whether the victim was white or black. That's equal protection.

Stop getting your legal analysis from right-wing hate radio.

  • The whole premise is to devise which groups are defined as the "victims" of hate, and provide them with unequal protection through stiffer penalties.

It's a program that on the surface allows you try and make these arguments, yet you and everyone else commenting knows it's true agenda. To separate people into different camps and classify them for victim status. (who'll just happen to be his supporters)

It is unconstitutional pandering from a race baiting fascist demagogue. Deal with it.

  • FreedomsReigning,

    You're just wrong.

The whole premise of hate crimes legislation is to provide THE SAME protection to ALL Americans regardless of skin color or nationality or gender or religion or disability status or sexual orientation.

Violent haters are all treated the same regardless of which group it is they hate. Black/white, gay/straight, Christian/Jewish, Italian/Greek, disabled/non-disabled, male/female all get exactly the same protection.

  • No that's what the laws we have on the books does, this is about classifying people as victims based on political affiliation, and providing them with unequal protection.

If this law passes a constitutional sniff test by the supreme court, we'll know that it is time to move because our federal government has fallen.

I suggest we all start now with the formation of state militias, and prepare to remind the federal government that no man or body of elected officials rules this land.

  • Every single man, woman, and child in the country gets EQUAL PROTECTION with this law.

This law really brings all Americans together.

Which is why it's mystifying that you're upset about it, since you claim to be a supporter of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which explicitly spells out the principle of equal protection of law.

  • How can you be gay and christian doesn't the bible or something say you can't be gay.... FAIL.

  • Voltegasproductions,

    Tell that to gay Christians.

    LOL

Something tells me bigotry is mainly the result of ignorance.

  • Not really, but if it is against the bible how do they call themselves Christians... DOES ANYONE HAVE COMMON SENSE ANYMORE? I didn't write the bible don't blame me.

  • Christians are fantastic at picking and chosing passages or just interpreting thing differently. so so long as one can make up an excuse or just leave out certain thing than it's all good. Christian already know the answer they just have to make up the facts to support it.

  • if i hate black people does it make you feel better that i hate white people too and that i am white? no? oh well i hate you too.

  • AgeisLiberatisLuces3,

There is no law against being full of hate. This is a free country. If, however, you and your friends get into a truck and deliberately target and violently assault a white person or a Christian or anyone for their skin color or faith or sexual orientation, then the President of the United States of America and federal prosecutors will come down on you with the full weight of the law.

    Just don't commit violent crime.

    It's not that complicated.

  • actually if i did that to a white person who was a christian they would not come down on my with the full weight of the law. it would not be a hate crime. hate crimes have tougher sentences. if i committed a violent crime against a person who is not a white christian male heterosexual then i would be charged with a hate crime which would carry a stiffer sentence. thats the whole idea behind hate crime legislation. to give extra rights and protections to "minority" groups. not complicated

  • An American President would never have signed this ridiculous and unconstitutional legislation.

  • So now we must abandon all dignity, I used to think humans were above animals but I realize animals are above humans.

  • So when will we see hate crime bills named after Channon Christian, Christopher Newsom, Jeffrey Curley, and Jesse Dirkhising? And how long before criticizing radical Islam becomes a crime?

  • This bill actually has a provision in it (Section 10) that re-affirms your right to criticize Islam, as well as any/all religions, races, disabilities, sexual orientations, etc. Any and all of the cases you stated above would have been helped by this bill, providing extensive funding for the FBI to help when requested by local authorities.

  • Obama is hero, and great person who does his best to keep the country. Only time will bless obama and nation to new glory. God bless Brack Obama

  • It's unequal protection under the law. This fraud will stop at nothing to undermine our country and its founding principles.

  • Maybe Republicans need a bit of physical education before they can understand this Bill. Maybe if a few highly visible Republicans were dragged to their deaths behind cars then their bodies were dumped on the steps of the Republican Campaign Office with a large notice saying "Death to all Republicans" they would begin to understand the difference between a normal murder and a hate crime that terrorizes a an entire community.

  • /\ /\ /\ See what I mean /\ /\ /\

This demagogues followers are so brainwashed that this one threatens to start dragging people to their death for questioning their logic.

By the way, your reference to "dragging people to death" is based on a case in which the perpetrators were sentenced to death, and it didn't require and unconstitutional "hate crimes legislation to do it.

Keep talking though champ. You're a perfect example of the world Obama hopes to create.

  • Actually, it's completely equal protection. You are now better protected from violent crimes motivated by your sexual orientation, gender, disability, or (since 1969) your race, color, national origin, and religion.

    Congratulations on your new protections!

  • The title of the legislation and the tone of this debate clearly demonstrates the bills intentions.

As a white man I don't care who "hates" me and we already have laws to prosecute violence. So why would I need a "hate crimes bill"?

This bill is about pandering to his constituency and spitting on the constitution. If he can get us to all fight amongst ourselves while he does it.... All the better.

Obama is playing the races against each other. (like all good fascist demagogues do)

  • FreedomsReigning,

I hate to disappoint you, but this bill also protects white people and heterosexuals and Christians.

It protects -anyone- who is violently assaulted because of their skin color or sexual orientation or their faith.

    It protects ALL Americans.

  • No, we already have laws protecting people from assault, and it doesn't matter what justification they base their hate and anger on.

This legislation is about race baiting, and attempting to set the people against each other. Violence comes from hate, this bill is Obama's way of separating us into little camps, and attempting to provide unequal protection for groups he and the federal government define as "victims".(his followers.. imagine that)

He a race baiting fascist Demagogue.

    Next?

  • I can tell you where cruelty begins, in the heart. What comes forth from the mouth is what's in the heart, -lies, thefts, adultery, murder, coveteousness, Idolatry. All people are born with an intent to do evil, so why don't they just arrest everyone? Oh wait, Romans 3 already done that. All guilty under God's law, how will you escape such justice? Everyone has to die someday you can't escape it. What will you do when you meet God? Are you ready?

  • Why didn't anyone stand up and preach Romans 1?

  • Hes a muslim thats why.

  • Um, think about it. If he were a Muslim, wouldn't he be lobbing stones at gays?

  • No he is only catering to them as a front. His damage is yet to come.

  • Obama is controlled by the Bilderberg Group. He is only a Puppet, and have nothing to say. Please get Informations about the Bilderberg Group!!!

  • Agreed. The federal government has fallen to organized crime and treason.

The Bilderbergers chose him to be Demagogue and Chief, got him elected through their power of mass media, and have created a race based cult of personality. EVERYTHING he does is about race baiting and dividing the people. (Divide and conquer)

Only this type of Fascist Demagogue could pass a bill based on unequal protection, and then pass it off as equality. The dumbed down masses just eat it up.

  • ISREAL AND UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STAND FOREVER countries under god

  • God made adam and eve not adam and steve.... gay people are disturbing.

  • Tooofast, I am gay, and God made me the way I am. I am not disturbing; I am loving.

  • Bible specifically calls gay people an abomination. Don't even start on that garbage. Christianity is against homosexuals.

  • You can be "gay" but that is not what we are against,we are against your sodomy.

Be gay all you want, but dont have sex with your own gender.

  • if you dont like obama go kill yourself,he's our President

  • best president ever!

  • you're SO right!

  • January 1st, 2012 show them that you mean business and stop paying these Bankers! No mortgage payment's, No insurance payment's, No IRS payment's, No PAYMENTS AT ALL! Demand a Federal Reserve(or similar) that is of the People and for the People....nothing more!

This will only work by standing together. Copy this and share it with many people as you can, America has a Constitution....so please.....let's use it!

  • "GOD gave us life so why do we feel we can take it...."

That's what this bill is about.

If you think Jesus would be upset by the death of the unborn, yet advocate for the death of Matthew Shepard or Jame Byrd, Jr., I don't what to say to you...

  • Is it also righ for someone to call himself a Christian and murder thousands of innocent iraqis fro oil?

  • Obama claims to be a Christian as well. dont forget about all the people in Afganistan

  • And who started the wars?

  • Perhaps bomb bomb bomb iran McCain is more Christian since he promises to muder. And is a adulterer

  • in what universe does john mccain have anything to do with the current president?

  • How how much better a Christian is McCain or Bush then? I suspect you wanted McCian to win so thatt he will murder Iranians?

  • You're playing a broken record... And yes, the President is being quite Christ-like in his general acceptance of others. It is the "christians" who have forgotten the teachings of Christ. "Judge not lest ye be judged..." Matthew 7:1-6

  • No US President has ever been "Christian" or Christ like. No one is.

  • JFK surely wasnt,he was just an immoral liberal.

  • George BushI and II, Reagn all had blood on thier hands too

  • That is one opinion... but wouldn't you agree that the acceptance of others is a quality of Christ? Oh well, it doesn't really matter what we all think, I am just happy that everything is moving towards the better for the LGBT community.

  • Jesus Christ doesnot accept everyone - matter of fact he will tell many religious and moral people - Depart from me ye that work iniquity I never knew.

  • Wow umm this is why religion is seperate from state. Open your eyes to understand not every one believes in what you do and they have every right to do what they want so long as its consenting adults. Hate if you want but also don't turn around and get angry and demand resolution if some one provides many example of hate speech toward your beliefs.

  • Actually it's ignorance on your behalf, because your simply judging a minority with a majority, which is considered a stereotype. True christians and let me say it again "true christians" do not believe in persucuting people for their sins; they kno that the ultimate judment is in gods hands. The people that go around judging people and calling themselves christians are not really christians, because god does'nt hate the person he hates the sin and so should a true christian follow the same.

  • but hating the sin in this case cause rights to be with held so it really doesn't make a diffrence at all surre you not spouting hate toward people now your just aiming at an entire group.

  • Wow... that was quite out of context, wouldn't your agree? Why quote Matthew 7:23 and leave out Matthew 7:22? Jesus was condemning false prophets... I am always amazed how some people can quote a verse in a way that is convenient to them. Just for thought, you should read Matthew 23:13 and its following verses.... Jesus wants us to look into ourselves, and not judge others first. If we work too hard judging others, our inner selfs can be as unclean as a tomb.

  • My point exactly; I don't believe in homosexuality, but that does'nt mean that I'm gonna go around condeming ever homosexual I see. I live like a true christian and love the person, but hate the sin. People need to stop trying to be god and follow him, because when a person considers themselves a christian they have to follow all of gods teachings not the ones they choose to pick out and falsify. GOD BLESS!

  • lowbott considers youtube comments a violation of his civil rights. and is calling for "punishment" of users he does not agree with? who has the twisted logic? lol

  • It is a sad day when our law makers have to create a law to ensure what is already guaranteed by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. But, thankfully we finally have someone in office that is not afraid, politically, to sign it into law.

  • ILUMINATI TRUMPS WITH OBAMA AS PUPPET

  • ILLU*MI N*ATI TRIUMPHS WITH OB*AM A AS THE PUPPET (i put stars in between the words becuz yout*ube wont let me post this message but it will let me post anything else, thats the proof, try it yourself)

  • you hurt my feelings I sue YOU

  • Thank you, Obama.

  • Very moving ceremony.

Bigotry has no place in America.

It is as bad as fascism.

  • My feelings also.

So I am more than a bit confused with the broad support for legislation that sets some victims as more important or more essential to society than others.

Legislation such as this does so much to entrench the idea that gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity ARE valid means of classifying members of a society. This Law is a slap in the face to people who truly are w/o prejudice.

  • @maskedphrogg

So, do you feel slapped in the face?

Protecting people from the inbred bigotries of people who get their excuses from scripture and their misplaced idea of what America stands for-- is necessary.

    Statistic freaks like statistics.

We're all classified in so many ways we've grown to accept being labeled. More exist than ethnicity and gender.

Watch the video "Nazi Nexus" on my channel. Euthenasia was once policy in America.

  • This Law does nothing to prevent criminal acts. It does perpetuate the myth that gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity is a VALID means of determining worth. You show your own prejudices by supporting Laws like this one. In effect, you are what you say you seek to destroy with legislation like this.

  • maskedphrogg, random crime affects the one person, but hate crime affects an entire group of people. If you're Asian and hear about someone killing another Asian in your neighborhood because the murderer hated Asians, you may not feel safe walking around your neighborhood. We deal with hate crimes based on race, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, etc. more seriously because of this reason.

  • A simple conclusion not borne out in reality . When a crime targets a group, that group will bear some anxiety no matter the punishment to the perpetrator.

If you were being honest you would be able to admit that what this Law does is provide cover for your own prejudice and desire to see malevolence done to groups you find disagreeable. By sanctioning your prejudicial action with the authority of Law you hope to protect yourself from the repercussions of your ill intent.

  • yeah, it moved my bowels

  • Oglenthorne, your joke is horrible and disrespectful.

  • Fuck all of this stupid "hate" crime bullshit. Crime is crime.

  • Crimes that are part of a culture of hatred, whether it be the KKK or plain folksiness, merit special attention.

  • Why?

Is it not enough that certain behaviour is criminal?

How does practicing prejudice based on gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity do away with such prejudices?

Legislation such as this is a contradiction in terms and more solidly entrenches tha
