It's not though. It's Maaya Sakamoto. She's the one who sang the opening Triangler.

Plus, the VA for Sheryl apparently didn't sing her character songs and such. If May'n is the VA for Sheryl, she's not the singer of this song. May'n has a distinctive vibrato in her voice. :]

In general, I love the screenshots you select for the tracks. This one in particular sticks out for some reason; the motif of flying a paper airplane, and here the background is out of focus. It feels like a microcosm for a Macross-class ship drifting through space. The airplane doesn't know where it's going or what's out there, it just rides on the wind. This song is a sound of that almost vain simplicity of life within the ignorance and isolation of a single colony flotilla on the Frontier.
