And of course the artistry is important, but I can't see anyone who was looking for artistry in Shawn Johnson's gymnastics when she won All-Around World title in 2007, then a silver medal at the Olympics. Let's face it, she was far from being artistic and even though Jordyn is not as well, she has a better presentation and less robotic moves than Johnson. And both of them are amazing gymnasts, they just have their own style.

Komova didn't have it that day. She was working watered-down routines due to her previous injury, and she had clearly had errors on floor. If she had performed a clean floor routine, she probably would have won. I hope this will teach her a thing or two about humility and about paying your dues. She and the Russians officials clearly believed they had it in the bag just by virtue of showing up for the meet.
Whether you like her routines or not, Jordyn always puts a smile on your face! But I love her floor routine because although there are other countries that emphasize on balletic dance styles, sometimes watching the same kind of choreography gets a little boring. For example, the Russians are great with ballet, but sometimes I feel they could "pump it up" once in a while; which is why Elena Zamolodchikova was my favorite gymnast beacuse she wasn't a typical Russian ballerina.
Love her! I am happy she took down Mustafina (American Cup), Komova (2011 Worlds), now I'm waiting to see her take them both down at the 2012 Olympics. She is the one to beat & I don't care what others have to say she beat both Russians because she was good enough. She is the one to beat not the other way around. Best of luck Miss Wieber.
I love this floor routine, it's probably my favorite one I've ever seen. She's one of the only gymnasts who is so perfectly in sync with the music, but yet it has so much attitude to it too. I'd love to see this as her Olympic routine. I could see her winning with this! Wieber Fever!
I know people say she isn't the best dancer and I do kinda agree but I love watching her. She sells her routine and her dancing looks far more natural than some. In its own way it's artistic.

I think the reason I love her floor routine so much is because she is TOTALLY in sync with the music! And she always seems so into it! It's not awkward or boring like some floor routines.
@iheartgymnastics412 i completely agree, what makes this routine so captivating is , combined with her skill, is her interpretation of the music. the moves fit around the music, and for once, its not a droning noise in the background.
I love this floor routine she is artistic in her own way and when you are that powerfully built you simply don't have the right body for the long lines that the smaller built lean gymnasts do but that doesn't mean you can't be artistic. Her choreography matches her music really well and gets everyone into the routine. I think since Nastia everyone is looking for the elongant type gymnast but theres such a variety of girls that we should reward ones who mix exciting dance with big clean moves.

It's not about what gymnasts look like. It's about who showed up to win that day, who has the most heart and dedication. @shekaroz Komova is almost lock for 2012. She is the best russian on the team, she has both difficulty and execution. Musty as great as she can be, CAN T vault correctly and she has 3 twisting element on FX...Now, I would take her only to do UB and BB where si can get good scores.
Jordyn had a meltdown on bars. That is the worst I have ever seen her do and she still won. I think that speaks to her fight and determination. She was excellent on beam and good on floor. Komova left the door open on beam and floor (start value lower to a 5.7 due to the fall out of the spin). Jordyn ran with it. However, Komova was as perfect as she could be on bars and vault. Today is was not good enough... 2012 maybe?
Jordyn scored higher on both Floor and Vault. Even if Komova does her 2 1/2 on vault she will not score higher. Jordyn is a better vaulter. However, it is truly impressive how far Komova has come since her injury. I never if believed she would be competing here. Nevertheless, she needs more training,,, right now Jordyn is a better vaulter and better on floor... 2012 who knows.. I cant wait to see!

@s0revl01 Which one are you talking about ? She almost fell on TF, and her triple twist is not as good as it used to be. She does not stick her landing as well as she used to do (of ankle injury, does that ring any bell ?). I would need to see Jordyn's and Vika's SV, I can"t remember at the moment but it can play a big role. Also before getting injured, Komova had a higher SV (ALl 4 events) and a higher execution. But you are still saying that Jordyn is better...
@WTFmode1 ..on tons of simple skills like round off, BHS, FF, swing ect. Most of they don't have good gymnastics base (yeah Mrs Raisman, especially you). What's the point of having great big tricks if it's to loose everything on base of gymnastics ? Where is the artistry as well ? At least Jordyn's routine is really nice to watch, it('s playful, she puts everything in it. But it's not enough. As for FX, Jordyn is an excellent floor worker but she left some things out like the BHS landed with feet apart (come on level 1 or 2) or her leaps. They don't hit 180 all the time which is also a big deduction. Jordyn's beam is good as well, except the bent knees on layout and flexed feet on aerial, and her leaps as well. If americans did not pay all their attention to big tricks, they would have better technique...
You are so full of crap if you honestly think that Komova vault is better (Bend legs, bad form, and large steps on the landing). I said she was better on bars, its is clear. However, she is not on vault Jordyn's is ten times better. And Jordyn's floor routine is better also and i don't understand why you don't think so, other than you favor Komova which is bias.

Look regardless of anyone's opinions, these girls all deserved to be there, they worked hard their whole lives and are all incredible gymnasts, the best in the world, no one can deny that. Some people just have better days than others, some judges are different, i'm sure that results could have come out differently if the competition had been a different day. Regardless we should praise them all, not hate on them.

@k3broken Yeah I have to agree, I mean she is an amazing gymnast, like the way she stuck those landings was un-believable but for some reason i think that under her talents is a mean girl and she just isn't that kind? I don't know but I feel that. Everyone talks about her, as one of the best USA gymnasts but Shawn Johnson will always be my favorite because she is so smiley and kind and her personality is sweet.

I think the reason I love her floor routine so much is because she is TOTALLY in sync with the music! And she always seems so into it! It's not awkward or boring like some floor routines.

I love this floor routine she is artistic in her own way and when you are that powerfully built you simply don't have the right body for the long lines that the smaller built lean gymnasts do but that doesn't mean you can't be artistic. Her choreography matches her music really well and gets everyone into the routine. I think since Nastia everyone is looking for the elongant type gymnast but theres such a variety of girls that we should reward ones who mix exciting dance with big clean moves.

It's not about what gymnasts look like. It's about who showed up to win that day, who has the most heart and dedication. I'm not saying Komova does have heart or dedication, but she came in the the competition expecting to win. She is conceded and arrogant. As if the silver wasn't enough. Yes gold is the best but she should be happy she medaled. Taking off her medal is a show of being non grateful and being a sore loser. If she can't accept she won silver then she doesn't deserve gold let alone

@emilydowner It wasn't that she expected to win, I personally knew she would win and when she didn't I was shocked, I like Jordyn better, but I just got a feeling that Komova deserved it, but anyway it's not Komova that's arrogant, it's the Russian attitude, Russian just have a certain attitude that exudes disgust no offence but they don't know how to loose respectfully, like the 2004 Olympics, where Khorkina and her cohorts took off their silver in disgust cause they lost.

@shekaroz Komova is almost lock for 2012. She is the best russian on the team, she has both difficulty and execution. Musty as great as she can be, CAN T vault correctly and she has 3 twisting element on FX...Now, I would take her only to do UB and BB where si can get good scores.

Jordyn had a meltdown on bars. That is the worst I have ever seen her do and she still won. I think that speaks to her fight and determination. She was excellent on beam and good on floor. Komova left the door open on beam and floor (start value lower to a 5.7 due to the fall out of the spin). Jordyn ran with it. However, Komova was as perfect as she could be on bars and vault. Today is was not good enough... 2012 maybe?

Jordyn scored higher on both Floor and Vault. Even if Komova does her 2 1/2 on vault she will not score higher. Jordyn is a better vaulter. However, it is truly impressive how far Komova has come since her injury. I never if believed she would be competing here. Nevertheless, she needs more training,,, right now Jordyn is a better vaulter and better on floor... 2012 who knows.. I cant wait to see!

@s0revl01 Which one are you talking about ? She almost fell on TF, and her triple twist is not as good as it used to be. She does not stick her landing as well as she used to do (of ankle injury, does that ring any bell ?). I would need to see Jordyn's and Vika's SV, I can"t remember at the moment but it can play a big role. Also before getting injured, Komova had a higher SV (ALl 4 events) and a higher execution. But you are still saying that Jordyn is better...

@WTFmode1 ..on tons of simple skills like round off, BHS, FF, swing ect. Most of they don't have good gymnastics base (yeah Mrs Raisman, especially you). What's the point of having great big tricks if it's to loose everything on base of gymnastics ? Where is the artistry as well ? At least Jordyn's routine is really nice to watch, it('s playful, she puts everything in it. But it's not enough. So I'd be happy to post dozens of comments but I'm tired so think whatever you want, KOmova is better :)

As for FX, Jordyn is an excellent floor worker but she left some things out like the BHS landed with feet apart (come on level 1 or 2) or her leaps. They don't hit 180 all the time which is also a big deduction. Jordyn's beam is good as well, except the bent knees on layout and flexed feet on aerial, and her leaps as well. If americans did not pay all their attention to big tricks, they would have better technique...

But saying Komova technique is better is a joke. Her artistry maybe so.. however Jordyn's floor routine is much more fun and enjoyable to watch.
