That barrier was totally useless.The barrier is there to stop the vehicle entering the opposing lanes of traffic.And it just didn't work.The vehicle just went straight over it.If it wasn't for that i strongly believe this wouldn't have been a fatal crash.Very sad.

My friend was being a good samaritan to someone who stalled on the freeway. A semi truck veered out of control and hit him and killed him. Being a good samaritan, especially on the freeway, may end up like that. So dont blame the guy for not stopping. Applaud him for not making things worse than they were. U cant help everyone

Also there's no way of us knowing whether or not they called for help because all we see is the front view of the vehicle. The driver or a passenger may have made a call for help and we would not know. They could have also been called back later if needed by law enforcement, provided they called in for help.

I have noticed in Britain that there very seldom is a "shoulder" on the sides of highways/motorways/freeways, so if your car has problems you cant just pull over to the side of the road. That seems dangerous, but I guess it is because there is very little extra land available,

@omardude39 .. ok but this driver is changing lanes, if the tire blows you would get an instant 6 inch lean to one side where the tire used to be. at speed coupled with even a slight turn on the wheel reaction time isnt even a factor. plus his front tire blows, maybe your guy you saw wasnt turning or going too fast and maybe it wasnt a front tire. dunno but i dont think this guy had a sniff of saving it

@BFCSeasider1 Perhaps it takes experience to learn how to handle it. Personally I figure "driver reaction in the event of a tyre blowout" should be something drivers get tested on here in the UK - use the time presently spent seeing if they can reverse round a corner!

Right line is for "slow" cars, and the left line is for cars with higher speed!
You can understand it clearly on Germans roads.

@falconidaes That is the way that roads are designed. However not all countries enforce a 'Only overtake from the outside lane'. In Britain overtaking from the inside lane (Undertaking) is illegal. In countries like America and numerous others undertaking is perfectly legal and leads to accidents like this.
