Aside from that little note this is probably a "Timed" event in Super Punch out which can be acessed upon beating the game.

If he tries to hit you in the face instead of the stomach immediately after getting knocked down you can get him with two uppercuts instead of three hooks which can save you a full second or maybe a little more. Just pulled an 8"98.

yeah it does, but there are secrets to getting the insane knockout times...you have to learn to counterpunch (this is when you hit the boxer with an opposite punch while timing it right as he is going to punch you with the other hand) i.e., nick bruiser throws a right to the face you simultaneously throw a left to the fast and time it so your punch hits him first, this stuns him and then you can go open punches on him...i CANT do it but i have seen it done
