I SWEAR he says, "would you like to meet the client?" at about :05 seconds! Sounds also like, "what would you like to eat?" at about :02 seconds! Maybe I'm paying far too much attention however! :P
Oh I wish I knew what Sven is saying because My Binnie girl answers him and will chat along with him, even if she's sleeping. Binnie and I have this rule ....at least once a day we visit Sven here on YouTube :) Thank you for letting us into your lives ...... Sven and Sven's 'daddy' :)

another Cocteau Twin budgie fan! No wonder.. Now it is clear to me why Sven is my favourite youtube budgie of ALL TIME. I'm teaching my budgie to say, "I'm so happy to see you." inspired by this little handsome guy!
It's nice when budgies twist things and come up with new phrases. These days Sven only says "I'm SO happy to see you" when he is feeling very mellow. Otherwise it's "I'm see you" "S'appy you" and "S'ap to see". Oh, and "Happy you".
The nicest thing is when is very cheerful and playful, when he just says "I'm SO happy"
Yes, he's a linguistic star! He has a knack of breaking words down into syllables (or budgie syllables ..) and then puting them together to form new words.
My budgie is speaking now =] had him for about 5 weeks he mimics sounds around the house door creek my whistle and he says pretty boy, pretty boy boy lol and hello :)
He just did it on his own? I mean i've had budgies for about 34 years now, and none of them have ever talked..Next time I get one, I'll have to talk to it more.
Yep - I just talked to him all the time (even on the way home from the shop where I got him), and then suddenly one day he whistled and said "Hello". After that there was no stopping him!
Normally if you have a group of budgies, they won't talk. You have to have alot of 1 on 1.Yours are probably more interested in playing with each other than talking.
My cockatiel taught my parrotlet her only phraze. He also taught that same phraze to the quaker. It sounds very different than the phrazes I've taught the quaker. More squeaky, and bird-like...
Now that I think about it -- the quaker also taught my last budgie to say "I love you" as well as "Kiss, kiss, kiss!"
Although both genders of quakers learn equally, I've noticed that in certain species males can be easier to teach "human". My quaker & my tiel are males. The parrotlet is female.
Weird! Not one of your budgies spoke in 34 years... Weird.
... A budgie has a little, squeaky sort of voice though. I've met budgies that spoke, but until I told the owners they were speaking they didn't realize the squeaks were speech.
... In the 16 years that I've kept birds, every one of my budgies spoke. Some more than other's though.
The last budgie I had was the greatest talker. He learned a lot more than the parrotlet. (She only says 5 words, the least of all my birds.)
I think a lot of the problem is, I have them in my room, and I don't say a word when I'm alone. I "chirp" at them, and they chirp back in very definite "patterns". People can't tell the diff between my "chirps" and the real birds, and I don't think the birds even know the diff. But they have never spoken "words"..I'm a keen listener and I would know if they did. And boomer is right, it has to be more 1 on 1 I think.
Yes. It's very hard to get a group or pairs to learn "human" since they usually hear their cagemates more than they do us.
Still I had 4 pairs when I was younger, and they all learned to speak "human" it just takes a whole Lot of work.
You can try housing them in seperate cages until they each learn to talk. I've had friends who have done so. If they are under a year, it works like a charm. Over a year can be harder...
