  • Thanks for the upload. Do you know if he is using yunzi stones? I love the sound they make when he puts them on the board.

  • Impressive how he always speaks of a "large advantage" when he actually means an end score different in one or two points. This is so amazing.

  • Great stuff.

  • this is excellent, thanks for translating. Wish there were more translated commentaries of high-level matches.

  • gosh, i still have no idea how they able to see the game so clearly

  • The guy actually resigned because he knew he would loose by 1.5 pts... I don't know if that's crazy or awesome...

  • @Edonyle Yes, but he was wrong, if he played out till end, he would win.

  • @xul99 nope he would still have lost (the commentator says b wins by 4.5-5.5 points so with 6.5 komi it's a 1.5 loss), you could say both knew the best sequence so both knew the result, no need to go further. Changho is actually famous for his early resigns, once he actually resigned a won game but that was not a point counting mistake, he didnt dee a tesuji to win the seamei that was going on so resigned even though he should have won it.

  • These are two Korea's legendary players.... The commentater is a Chinese...

  • @thhcool this guy is one of the first pro players in China, he is also a pretty good commentor, is he not enough to comment?

  • @canadianfirzen OO... I'm satisfie with the video.. I was just giving out the background info... I didin't mean to offend that commentator

  • @aubade4720 it's ok... I just telling you his background

  • @canadianfirzen OO... I'm satisfied with the video.. I was just giving out the background info... I didin't mean to offend that commentator

  • Thanks for posting this! Where did you find the original?

  • very good video. very insightful commentary. these pros definitely play and think on a completely different level than regular folks.

  • Thanks for the subtitles! This is the first pro match I've watched through in detail (apart from Hikaru no go =) - had to pause it all throughout - but it's great you learn the different kinds of attacks and patterns and get to understand them =)

    Go go go!

  • This is the equivalent of a replay with professional commentary, notice all the times he returned and replayed moves to "speculate" possible options. That kind of taking back moves after they've been made are not allowed in this game.

  • Great video. Normally don't get the chance to see commentaries or explanations of moves, so this was really helpful. Thanks =D

  • This is truly fantastic work - well done and much appreciated! How I wish we had GoTV in UK... :-(

  • I do voice translation too, welcome to check out mine too =)

  • Very instructive. Excellent job with the translation! I'd love to see more of these.

  • Definitely need some more videos. This was very insightful. Great job, translator.

  • thanks for the upload!

prof play so differently to the K players.

    hope there's more!

  • Very insightful game

  • wait if this is a match between 2 poeple wheres the other person?

  • This is a post-match analysis/commentary video, not a live telecast of the match. :-)

  • I was about to tern the sound off so I wouldn't get distracted by that guy speaking, and just read the commentary. But then I thought hey, maybe if I leave it on I'll learn Chinese, (or whatever language he's speaking)

  • Yep, its in Chinese. :-) Its a good idea to leave the audio on, not just for picking up the terms (although, that is a VERY good reason). I think one can get quite a lot of information about what a person is saying, even if the listener can't understand the language.

  • That's a good point as well. Furthermore, you'd miss out on that great snapping sound, that's in part why I prefer single convex stones, is he using those here, I can't tell?

  • Yep, single convex stones. If you look closely, you'll notice that he flips the stones over when he's playing out variations, something that can't be done with biconvex stones.

  • Thank you very much for taking the effort to translate all this. I will definitely send these videos to go-friends. Thanks a lot!

  • Thanks! :-)

  • excellent work. thank you.

  • Thank you for watching! Please let your other Go pals know about this too. :-)

  • Thank you for taking the time to put together this excellent commentary. I enjoyed watching it, and its nice for weak players like myself to actually know why a move was made instead of guessing.

  • Aye, if left to myself, I wouldn't understand this game at all. Hua Yigang's a great teacher and game commentator.

Thanks for watching! And please help to spread the word. :-)

  • Great to know you like it! :-) But each video now takes me days of work to produce, so its unlikely now that I can produce anymore unless I get some help. :-(

  • Well, I'm a a 4k who knows no japanese, so I can't be of any help...

  • This video is in Chinese, not Japanese. :-)

    And i'm KGS 7k now. ^^

  • Heh. By "japanese" i meant "not english."

  • Heh. Please help spread this video to other Go players you know!
