@xul99 nope he would still have lost (the commentator says b wins by 4.5-5.5 points so with 6.5 komi it's a 1.5 loss), you could say both knew the best sequence so both knew the result, no need to go further. Changho is actually famous for his early resigns, once he actually resigned a won game but that was not a point counting mistake, he didnt dee a tesuji to win the seamei that was going on so resigned even though he should have won it.
Thanks for the subtitles! This is the first pro match I've watched through in detail (apart from Hikaru no go =) - had to pause it all throughout - but it's great you learn the different kinds of attacks and patterns and get to understand them =)
This is the equivalent of a replay with professional commentary, notice all the times he returned and replayed moves to "speculate" possible options. That kind of taking back moves after they've been made are not allowed in this game.
I was about to tern the sound off so I wouldn't get distracted by that guy speaking, and just read the commentary. But then I thought hey, maybe if I leave it on I'll learn Chinese, (or whatever language he's speaking)
Yep, its in Chinese. :-) Its a good idea to leave the audio on, not just for picking up the terms (although, that is a VERY good reason). I think one can get quite a lot of information about what a person is saying, even if the listener can't understand the language.
That's a good point as well. Furthermore, you'd miss out on that great snapping sound, that's in part why I prefer single convex stones, is he using those here, I can't tell?
Yep, single convex stones. If you look closely, you'll notice that he flips the stones over when he's playing out variations, something that can't be done with biconvex stones.
Thank you for taking the time to put together this excellent commentary. I enjoyed watching it, and its nice for weak players like myself to actually know why a move was made instead of guessing.
Great to know you like it! :-) But each video now takes me days of work to produce, so its unlikely now that I can produce anymore unless I get some help. :-(
Thanks for the upload. Do you know if he is using yunzi stones? I love the sound they make when he puts them on the board.

Impressive how he always speaks of a "large advantage" when he actually means an end score different in one or two points. This is so amazing.

Great stuff.

The guy actually resigned because he knew he would loose by 1.5 pts... I don't know if that's crazy or awesome...

Great video. Normally don't get the chance to see commentaries or explanations of moves, so this was really helpful. Thanks =D

Aye, if left to myself, I wouldn't understand this game at all. Hua Yigang's a great teacher and game commentator.
Thanks for watching! And please help to spread the word. :-)
