please do ur research, the medication companies r liars. schizophrenia and almost any other mental illness CAN actually be cured(in some cases just lessened about 70 percent) i have schizophrenia, trust me "medication" does not actually treat the illness just the symptoms and not even well. the true cause believe it or not is diet. the processed garbage we eat is the true cause. type in "the gaps diet" in youtube for more info.
My dad is a paranoid schizophrenic.. As a child, he was absent and incapable of being a father to me and I always resented the fact. Thank you for sharing your story on a personal level. It helped me somewhat understand and sympathize with my dad. I too hope that one day schizophrenia will be understood and be treatable.

I'm often pushed away cause of that in school and afraid that I'm not going to find any girlfriend in future and wouldn't be able to make my family. The stigma is being lifted more and more everyday. When friends or family members are unfortunate to get this DISEASE, more ppl are becoming aware of the myths about schizophrenia. Hollywood & show like Law & Order completely got the illness WRONG. Ppl with mental illness are more likely to hurt THEMSELVES BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE!!! I wonder what the statistics are for ppl w/out mental illness compared to ppl with it? And nature of crimes? Anyone know where to find them.

Religion has nothing to do with it. People will obsess with anything, religion is an easy one because 1. It's popular, and 2. It's something that is commonly believed to be real (let's not make this a debate on whether it is or not, please)
The idea that one could be in eternal pain for being a sinner is scary. That, combined with schizophrenia, would make someone create an inner battle of sinning or not, as in, they could have mood swings that make them be terrible, or not.

You know...for my depression i got help from an online councler. Eventually she got me comfortable enough for me to tell her about what i see and hear. She diagnosed me with schizophrenia but said i needed to go to a professional to confirm diagnosis. Well I'm too scared to get help and i hid it too well from my family for them to notice. But your video just gave me the confidence to try and tell my family and get out of this living hell.

There are different levels of schizophrenia. My son is predispositioned for schizophrenia and it was triggered in 2009. Now he is in prison paying for a tragic crime he is not responsible for. The adults are.
My younger brother, cousin and aunt have the samething. It sux seeing my family struggle with it. Im pretty sure the fukass Government has a cure they just dont wanna release it cuz then people will be cured and they wont make anymore money once everyone is cured.
I have have hallucinated a couple of times, when ive had a fever, and it wasnt pleasant. But to think that some have to put up with it for their whole life.... I feel sorry for them :(

I have schiophrenia, it runs in my family I guess. I'm 14 it wasn't supposed to present itself till later but I was knocked around a bit an it came out sooner cause of a brain injury. If ou just look at me you wouldn't know, but the wrong person hears about it then they tell everybody and make it all dramatic, all of a sudden everybody treats you like a freak.

@superlisamcb thanks for saying that. I feel the same. Psychiatry is being used as a system of control and disempowerment and I believe several things are happening. One, people with autism, sensory differences and psychic or empathic hightened states are being labled ill. Simultaneously mind control systems are in place to literally drive ppl to appear insane. I have DID and I developed it as a coping mechanism from extreme abuse. The abuse occured because I was intuitive and empathic inclined

You're not schizophrenic. You're just stupid. "hearing voices" is often an excuse to cover up something that might bother you. Scientifically, "hearing voices" other than your own is not possible. You made it through 3 years of college? That's just short of a bachelor's degree, why would you stop when you only had a year to go? Anyhow, getting that far is highly unlikely if you where a schizophrenic.
@pinstripesuit1 Actually "hearing voices" is very possible. A person can have damage to their temporal lobe causing those neurons to fire. When they do they can hear voices. People who are schizo can also experience "hearing voices." Also see Synesthesia for a unique example of how people can experience multiple perceptions from something as simple as hearing a word.

I'm an artist and I find art really helps me with my mental disorders-I've been diagnosed with schitzophrenia and bipolar disorder, but I have not been put on medication because my mother refused to drug me up. When I was little (seven-eight years old) I started hurting myself and not realizing that I was doing it, biting or clawing myself open. I started trying to kill myself at eight. I've been doing a lot better now though

And eventually this will rule through over the depression. And yes, he can stop starvation. But there are other people in the world who are gluttonous. You have a manifestation of religious obsession. For many people those drugs are a way to cope with their paranoia and psychosis. Telling them to stop taking medicine is very dangerous for themselves and others. Telling people with schizofrenia that they are possessed is trying to make them more paranoid. Sometime I keep hearing voices that guide me either positive or negative thought through my entire life. I want the voice to "back off" but I did not know what to do. Obviously I keep shouting "back off" at the voice but the voice still echoed in my mind. What should I do? Should I take prescribe medication? Will there be side effect to it?
I have schizophrenia and have only recently been diagnosed, I found music to be the best way for me to control them and I used logic to try and keep the voices at bay, It's worked so far and am also hoping for a full recovery =) xx
It's great that you are happy now, that is the main thing. One day I think you'll look back on your "schizy" experiences and laugh... live and learn... you are obviously a good person with a good heart and good intentions, but you seem wracked by a kind of guilt or need for acceptance - that is not so unusual, you just have standards. Did you know that all of your symptoms are merely a result of not recognising your spirituality. Trauma or non acceptance of yourself causes these symptoms where it seems that you are hearing voices although it is your inner consciousness talking, not other voices. A need to fit into and be accepted by the Universe is paramount. Psychology has categorised emotions to the point of ludicrousy. We are all spirits having a human experience. There have been those who have tried that approach and have committed suicide because either the voices told them to or they could no longer function do to the voices. There is medicine and science for a reason, they offer theories by which can be proven through physical evidence presented in nature. As for Gods, most are based on faith, or pretty much guessing.

What research have you done? What research of others have you studied? What expertise, with proven results, have you gained? Schizophrenia shows up on brain scans as a structural abnormality in the brain. It is a physcial disorder that affects a person's experience of their reality. It's not simply spiritual.
Is one of the symptoms of schizophrenia to do a particular action that you have no memory of and the action itself is completely out of character? When I was 14 I hit my best friend very hard across her arm for no reason in front of my entire class. I have no memory of doing it, but she shouted at me for having done so and I realized she was telling the truth because my hand was tingling and hurt as if I really had hit flesh very hard. This sounds a lot like crazy stories ancient people would say. In christian societies, schizophrenics would interpret the voices as angels and gods, or the first people would interpret them as other gods and other forces. Perhaps projecting the voices onto animals. Today they are interpreted as aliens or some secret gov't agents.

I recall having been diagnosed with DID and Schizoaffective. Although, I recall many repressed memories, but having what was supposedly a higher knowledge and other languages, is not something I've recalled. So, in that respect etc. I think it's more mind control and possession. Especially since some of these events involved others with missing time and or possession. OOBE time travel remote viewing aliens, etc. etc. Seems the whole ball of wax, which is confusing. Possessions are more likely.
I don't believe schizophrenia is meant to be a mental disorder. It is actually a gift because these things ARE actually going on in the world. Aliens are watching us and do take people and do experiments on them. A person that is a so called "schizophrenic" is actually a person who is gifted to pick up on these things.

The girl in this video actually seems to have (comparatively) MILD schizohprenia, a full-blown schizophrenic has completely nonsensical speech, purposeless behavior and such a lack of motivation to do anything that they may stare at their feet for days on end, not responding when spoken to.

Thankfully, we live in a time in which an excessive amount of medical research is being done throughout the world. I truly believe that some time soon, we will have what it takes to put an end to chronic illnesses such as Schizophrenia. For adolescence out there who are suffering from any chronic illness, have hope. You're still young, and have plenty of time for correction in your life.
@irishbear76 Very true irish. On a personal note I was lucky to come across some people who used some other things help the mind to rebalance the body. I learnt from them & researched myself and somehow found a way to 'trick' myself into a more normal way of thinking. Still there are bad days (weeks sometimes) but on the whole, there is a mental level you can reach which I simply cannot explain in words, that can help you trick the way your brain operates.
@irishbear76 That is a fatalist view. There are more factors than biology. Recovery rates in third world countries are higher than industrial countries. Also, the patient is usually left out of the treatment process and uninformed about their medications and not given a strong psychological coping skills.

@Sideofyams interesting I get that as well, I hear a hissing like whisper when I am showering or when music is playing, or at odd times in the night when Im alone-and I always try to see what is talking but nothing is there. I have not been diagnosed with anything yet but it might be a beginning to schizophrenia. I also thought it was demons...it is very scary stuff.

Religion has nothing to do with it. People will obsess with anything, religion is an easy one because 1. It's popular, and 2. It's something that is commonly believed to be real (let's not make this a debate on whether it is or not, please)
The idea that one could be in eternal pain for being a sinner is scary. That, combined with schizophrenia, would make someone create an inner battle of sinning or not, as in, they could have mood swings that make them be terrible, or not.

You know...for my depression i got help from an online councler. Eventually she got me comfortable enough for me to tell her about what i see and hear. She diagnosed me with schizophrenia but said i needed to go to a professional to confirm diagnosis. Well I'm too scared to get help and i hid it too well from my family for them to notice. But your video just gave me the confidence to try and tell my family and get out of this living hell.

There are different levels of schizophrenia. My son is predispositioned for schizophrenia and it was triggered in 2009. Now he is in prison paying for a tragic crime he is not responsible for. The adults are.

SZ affects 1 in 100, cancer affects 1 in 2 (male) 1 in 3 (female) and AIDs is such a problem in Africa that 50% of pregnant women in Swaziland have AIDs and the average age of death, for the entire country, is 32.

I have schiophrenia, it runs in my family I guess. I'm 14 it wasn't supposed to present itself till later but I was knocked around a bit an it came out sooner cause of a brain injury. If ou just look at me you wouldn't know, but the wrong person hears about it then they tell everybody and make it all dramatic, all of a sudden everybody treats you like a freak.

I have my own world of beings that I see within my mind. I believe they exist, since I see them. That is an experience, that is my reality. Online, I have been accused of having Schizotypal personality disorder and I was called "insane". I am not "insane". I have high functioning Autism. I believe that we are all eccentric by nature, and we are all beautiful. It doesn't mean we are "ill".

One, people with autism, sensory differences and psychic or empathic hightened states are being labled ill. Simultaneously mind control systems are in place to literally drive ppl to appear insane. I have DID and I developed it as a coping mechanism from extreme abuse. The abuse occured because I was intuitive and empathic inclined

You're not schizophrenic. You're just stupid. "hearing voices" is often an excuse to cover up something that might bother you. Scientifically, "hearing voices" other than your own is not possible. You made it through 3 years of college? That's just short of a bachelor's degree, why would you stop when you only had a year to go? Anyhow, getting that far is highly unlikely if you where a schizophrenic.

@pinstripesuit1 Actually "hearing voices" is very possible. A person can have damage to their temporal lobe causing those neurons to fire. When they do they can hear voices. People who are schizo can also experience "hearing voices." Also see Synesthesia for a unique example of how people can experience multiple perceptions from something as simple as hearing a word.

I hope someday people will realize that it's nothing to be ashamed of. I'm an artist and I find art really helps me with my mental disorders-I've been diagnosed with schitzophrenia and bipolar disorder, but I have not been put on medication because my mother refused to drug me up. When I was little (seven-eight years old) I started hurting myself and not realizing that I was doing it, biting or clawing myself open. I started trying to kill myself at eight. I've been doing a lot better now though

It's a disease like any other medical problem that needs to be treated by physicians. I don't buy that if you convert to christianity you will be healed CRAP. Telling them to stop taking medicine is very dangerous for themselves and others. Telling people with schizofrenia that they are possessed is trying to make them more paranoid. Sometime I keep hearing voices that guide me either positive or negative thought through my entire life. I want the voice to "back off" but I did not know what to do. One day I think you'll look back on your "schizy" experiences and laugh... live and learn... you are obviously a good person with a good heart and good intentions, but you seem wracked by a kind of guilt or need for acceptance - that is not so unusual, you just have standards. Did you know that all of your symptoms are merely a result of not recognising your spirituality. Trauma or non acceptance of yourself causes these symptoms where it seems that you are hearing voices although it is your inner consciousness talking, not other voices. A need to fit into and be accepted by the Universe is paramount. Psychology has categorised emotions to the point of ludicrousy. We are all spirits having a human experience. There have been those who have tried that approach and have committed suicide because either the voices told them to or they could no longer function do to the voices. There is medicine and science for a reason, they offer theories by which can be proven through physical evidence presented in nature. As for Gods, most are based on faith, or pretty much guessing.

What research have you done? What research of others have you studied? What expertise, with proven results, have you gained? Schizophrenia shows up on brain scans as a structural abnormality in the brain. It is a physcial disorder that affects a person's experience of their reality. It's not simply spiritual.

Is one of the symptoms of schizophrenia to do a particular action that you have no memory of and the action itself is completely out of character? When I was 14 I hit my best friend very hard across her arm for no reason in front of my entire class. I have no memory of doing it, but she shouted at me for having done so and I realized she was telling the truth because my hand was tingling and hurt as if I really had hit flesh very hard. Any suggestions?

This sounds a lot like crazy stories ancient people would say. In christian societies, schizophrenics would interpret the voices as angels and gods, or the first people would interpret them as other gods and other forces. Perhaps projecting the voices onto animals. Today they are interpreted as aliens or some secret gov't agents.

I recall having been diagnosed with DID and Schizoaffective. Although, I recall many repressed memories, but having what was supposedly a higher knowledge and other languages, is not something I've recalled. So, in that respect etc. I think it's more mind control and possession. Especially since some of these events involved others with missing time and or possession. OOBE time travel remote viewing aliens, etc. etc. Seems the whole ball of wax, which is confusing. Possessions are more likely.

I don't believe schizophrenia is meant to be a mental disorder. It is actually a gift because these things ARE actually going on in the world. I don't have schizophrenia...However, I fully understand the pain that these people have to endure. Thankfully, we live in a time in which an excessive amount of medical research is being done throughout the world. I truly believe that some time soon, we will have what it takes to put an end to chronic illnesses such as Schizophrenia. For adolescence out there who are suffering from any chronic illness, have hope. You're still young, and have plenty of time for correction in your life.

Schizophrenia has a physiological cause.
The lateral ventrices of the brain atrophy in Schizophrenia.
Having Schizophrenia is no different than diabetes, mulitple sclerosis, or arthritis.
YOu have the illness for the rest of your life. Empower yourself to understand your disease, manage your disease and to formulate coping strategies.
The stigma must end. Mental illness is something no one should have to suffer alone in silence.

@irishbear76 Very true irish. On a personal note I was lucky to come across some people who used some other things help the mind to rebalance the body. I learnt from them & researched myself and somehow found a way to 'trick' myself into a more normal way of thinking. Still there are bad days (weeks sometimes) but on the whole, there is a mental level you can reach which I simply cannot explain in words, that can help you trick the way your brain operates.

Also, the patient is usually left out of the treatment process and uninformed about their medications and not given a strong psychological coping skills.

hahaha this is a joke...she has a human mind...i've had these thoughts as well about the human experimentation project about extra terrestrials...she has a weakmind just cause you hear the thoughts of others doesn't mean you have a mental illness her moms was right...but she turned to science...this chick was just again weakminded...i laugh cause she was paid for this...you can look at the vid and see that much...has she ever heard of PSI...again hahaha at this joke...

@trustedbp When you hear voices that are as real as you and I and you see things as real as you and I, things so distracting you cant understand other people because the voices are so loud and the images youre seeing so distorted, then you are crazy. When you say somebody is "weak" you sound like a douchebag.

I intend to become a psycopharmacologist when i get out of college, so i could be dealing with exactly what your talking about, and i still think what you say is stupid. Humanity has done much better for itself by advancing its understanding in computers and technology then it ever would trying to cure the relatively small handful of people suffering from schizophrenia.

i have schizophrenia and iv had it since i was little it first started showing when i was about 5 years old i was only recently diagnosed with it but i got it well at least the docs think i got it from trama i get made fun of at school all the time becasue alot of the time i talk to myself and cant sit in one spot for very long and when i do talk to ppl the voices in my head get in the way of a conversation and i end up talking to the voices not the person...i see things but they never stay

you sound so much like me. I have been so angry lately, because people just don't understand and probably just don't care. You have to get a job, you have to do this, you have to do that. IT'S NOT THAT EASY! I feel like such a failure, over and over again. It's so hard to find real help and then to realize that really you are all alone and fighting a losing battle. I wonder when I am going to have to just throw in the towel and give up. Good luck!
