  • kobe = portland killer

  • I miss Staples Center before they changed the lights. Now it just looks like an auditorium :(

  • @asdfjkc watch clipper games

  • Kobe Passed?! =0

  • The next two seasons after this, the Lakers swept Portland's ass out of the playoffs

  • I swear, the Laker fans now are just dumbass celebrities. Look at this crowd. Look at all the yellow. This is the Laker crowd!!!!!

  • Portland can go fuck themselves

  • i miss those laker fans.

  • Awesome oop, awesome win. But please shaq was peaking, Kobe was at his most athletic, and the Portland team were old timers now. Back in 1994 when pippen was playing without MJ, he showed who he was. All star MvP and robbed of MVP. Man fast forward to 2001 and you have an older guy who was dominating for a decade. It's different. Still, congrats to lakers Better team one.

  • this moment defined there success

  • finals berth... wtf

  • shaq running and jumping!

  • I love how the Laker towel boys were happier than the players. lol

  • Stoudemire, Sheed, Pippen, Sabonnis, Steve Smith, Brian Grant...the blazers had a fucking squad!! Shaq, Kobe, and Phil were just too much to handle for ANYBODY

  • @prospect42191

don't forget Detlef Schrempf, JR Rider, Stacey Augmon! damn they were stacked!

  • u never see THAT much yellow at staples center anymore. =/

  • @jGONZALEZ012793 dude ur right man its sad

  • that was pippen guarding Kobe. If pippen was in his prime, kobe never would've passed him

  • lol the blazers suck now. The blazers of 2000 would sweep them without a broom. haha

  • LOL @ Rick Fox

  • So iconic

  • bryant..... TO SHAQ!!!!

  • the old kobe and shaq play

  • travis knight!

  • I blame Mike Dunleavy

  • CHILLS

  • did anyone notice how bad kobe crossed pippen( one of the best defenders )?

  • Portland was never the same after that dunk...

  • u can tell this was a long time ago 1. kobe had the afro 2. Shaq was slim and lite

  • you can tell this is from back in the day. kobe still has hair, and shaq is still good

  • @finaldestination91 i only respect afro kobe

  • @NewMoney527 he should grow it back lol :P

  • man im starting to realize how good a team with a young kobe and young shaq would be compared to today, that lakers team is sooooooooo much better than any team in the league right now

  • I'm in love with that face 0:10 lol

  • one of the best crosses of that year

  • 0:49 Most excited Phil Jackson's every gotten lol

  • @Phase23me ha

  • @ 0:48 Phil Jackson shits his pants

  • remember watching this live...

    GOOD TIMES man...

  • is it me or does that laker on the wing from 0:06-0:09 have a ridiculously long wingspan?

  • the erruption of the crowd after the lob connects gives me chills. man i remember watching this and absolutely losing my mind when this play happened. "Bryant....TO SHAQ!!!!!" *staples center explodes*

  • irony.. they call kobe a ball hog but this is probably one of the most well known ASSIST of all time

  • tHEY DID darken the lights in staples sometime after this. so staples does look different because of that.

  • once all the east coast stars started coming to staples the place seemed dead. the lakers were repeat champions after that but the place didn't rock as much. whatever....GO LAKERS!

  • 5 people have no heart.

  • Bryant ... to SHAQ!!!!!!!!!!

  • Compare this to LeBron's Prime right now??? ahhh... KObe owns LeChoke!

This is way better! we will missed shaq!

  • "Portland has 3 timeouts left, the Lakers have two...Bryant...TO SHAQ!!!" amazing

  • Comment removed

  • Lakers put up that lame ass lighting (MSG style) making the crowd look like ghosts. They need to leave the lights on..

  • @asdfkle8 i know right, it's the dim-ass lighting thats making the la crowd dead they shut turn the lights on to bring back the hype of the crowd like in here

  • @asdfkle8 yea they did that as soon as kobe changed his number. You cant even see the crowd.

  • Robin to Batman

  • ok rick fox from 49 seconds onward is hilarious

  • The Big Diesel! Oh man the NBA is going to be super boring now

  • lol tyronn lue

  • @dmgoforth1 did AI crossed his ass up LOLz

  • that was such a sick dunk

  • OMG. I remember it exactly. I was on the edge of my seat seating...hoping the Lakers wouldn't loose again for the 4th time straight in the WCF! That play was one of the greatest in Laker history. Everyone in the city was going crazy. you could hear everyone outside going madd!!! lol

  • Why did they start to darken the lights around the court at Lakers game, I think its a 100% better atmosphere when it isn't dark around the court.

Staples center is not the Garden...

  • Anyways I miss these days. A shame Kobe n Shaq couldn't work things out and also that Shaq never was in his best shape. No reason those two shouldn't already have 6 rings each if they had stayed together.

  • One of the best 1-2 Combo's Ever! To Bad they had to go seperate ways!

  • The reason this crowd was loud was because this game 7 was the last time they allowed any fan to purchase tickets. They had to wait in line to buy them so you had real fans at the game, not just VIP. I wish they would still allow that, Staples crowds would be a lot more vocal if "regular" people had the oppurtunity to purhcase tickets instead of mass amounts going to businesses and things like that.

  • The only reason why this Laker crowd seems better than the one we have now is because back then, the arena put light on the crowd. Now Staples doesnt do that anymore so it always seems fans are just sitting down and tweeting about how theyre at the Laker game.

  • that was the staple center i liked, not the boring one that we have now

  • Starting at .50 seconds, it's so funny looking at Rick Fox, he doesn't know how to react. Funny stuff.

  • This still gives me goosebumps. Time to retire number 34 at STAPLES.

  • Going to miss you Shaq

  • bryant...to SHAQ!!!

  • All the people who say "Kobe would have won without Shaq" or "Shaq would have won without Kobe" are stupid. No matter how good you are, you can't win anything by yourself.

"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships"- Michael Jordan

  • thumbs up if you came here after hearing Shaq was retiring and wanted to watch your favorite Shaq-Lakers moment

  • @koldapu

    You got me!

  • @koldapu wow thats hilarious. that's the exact reason i came here. i think everyone knows this is shaqs iconic moment. those laker teams were something else. good times.

  • @koldapu exactly why I came here. Just watched shaq's press conference and immediately wanted to see this moment... this game was basically the game that got me HOOKED into the NBA, i copied shaq's poses after that insane dunk for days

  • Godspeed, Shaq

  • Peace Shaq. The end of an era. :(

  • i hate the lakers... but MAAAAAAAN mad props for that one

  • Hands down the greatest game i ever seen....this was the birth of the kobe-shaq dynasty!!!

  • that dunk ended the trail blazers. it seemed to take all their heart. they've never been the same since

  • dude.....wtf is this.....WHY CANT THE STAPLE CENTER BE THIS PUMPED UP!!! WTTF!! THIS IS A LAKER CROWD!!!!

  • @THE6arab6comedianz they dimmed the lights on the stadium but they still get pumped

  • @thabeatkonducta i know. but come on. lets face it. they were soo in to the game back then

  • @THE6arab6comedianz yea they did lol

  • great call, great reaction, great play.... the nba playoffs: where amazing happens

  • Wow watching this gives me chills still to this day! That was a great play to end the game. I remember I jumped so high and so fast that I strained my neck ha ha good times

  • pippens ankles were never the same after kobe got done with em

  • Too many celebrities for the LA crowd to be this loud again.

  • SO anybody know what happend to this LOUD LAKERS CROWD? In 2010-2011 the Lakers crowd is more fuckin dead than Billy Mays.

  • @kobe24mvp81 for reals!! as a laker fan i'm disgusted!! back then nobody had a cell phone maybe, but when i go to the game, everybody is on their cam taking pics for their facebook page or twitter page...laker fans these days suck balls!

  • @kobe24mvp81 dude....amen

  • @kobe24mvp81 They priced out the real fans after that first Shaq championship year. Go to any bar in LA/OC during a Laker playoff game and it'll be louder than Staples Center. It's sad, but it's true

  • @kobe24mvp81 it's all rich people now, just talking on their phones and shit ._. it's a shame

  • @kobe24mvp81 the crowd is the same. the difference is the ABC vs. NBC coverage. ABC/ESPN has made the decision to mute the crowds in order to hear the announcers clearer. That's why whenever you watch old games on NBC and to some extent present-day games on TNT, the crowds sound louder. i cant wait till ABC/ESPN's contract is up. i will pray NBC makes a bid to take back the NBA. the entire presentation was better on that network.

  • @kobe24mvp81 Lakers crowd ain't been that electrified like what we've seen here for they lack of this kind of plays. Lakers now is full of fundamental basketball. Only Shannon, Artest and Kobe makes them good highlights to cheer.

  • @kobe24mvp81 now a days the only ppl who go to laker games are rich ass doctors and famous ppl who think there too good to act crazy, tickets are so expensive now its mad crazy, back then it was cheaper and affordable soo yeah all the die hards are at the top ..

  • @kobe24mvp81 Hell yea, lakers home games arn't the same at all. But that comment about Billy Mays wasn't neccesary.

  • @kobe24mvp81 it seems that wasy because its a money saving ploy. They don't have the lights on the crowd and keep thye only have it on the court.

  • @kobe24mvp81 thats messed up lol

  • @kobe24mvp81 i know theres only fucking celebrities in games and they dont even cheer

  • @kobe24mvp81 I read an article where one guy said that he almost gets kicked out of the Laker games for being too loud because supposely you bother the celebrities with all that noise.

  • @GSCommander DAM FUCK THAT

  • @kobe24mvp81 I think he might be right. Jack Nicholson is at every home game plus some other constant celebrities like George Lopez, Kardashians, and some others. That might also go for the Knick games at Madison Square Garden where I always see Spike Lee and a couple others like Adam Sandler.

  • @kobe24mvp81 Real fans can't afford the tickets anymore. I paid 45 bucks to sit in the LAST row of Staples Center to watch a team of purple and gold wearing dots. I bet you couldn't even get those seats for that much now.

  • @kobe24mvp81

    TOTALLY AGREE 100000000%

  • @kobe24mvp81 The real fans got priced out man. Nobody can afford a damn ticket anymore

  • @wavenstein yea that is true, fuckin celebs need to give money away, or their tickets

  • @kobe24mvp81 It's just "another thing to do in LA" where you don't see any these real fans anymore. When I went to a game last year and even though the Lakers won, that mess was dead. I wish we had the crowds from ten years ago.

  • @proj3ctandy23 agreed, this is one reason why I hate LA Fans, youre lucky to be at the fuckin game!

  • Man if only staples center was this loud again

  • hahaha! @ 49 seconds

  • Phil retires, Shaq retires. The end of a great era. Thanks for some awesome basketball guys.

  • best little man, big man combo EVER!!

  • @Pain5155 nope, as much as I loved those two guys nobody can beat stockton + malone

  • @rotzbur uhhhh, they didnt win shit, and where stopped countless times.... come on brah, u cant say nobody can beat them wen they didnt win a championship, sure MJ fuked them, but they had 2 years where he took a break, and a couple years after

  • @Pain5155 i didnt necessarily mean in terms of winning the title but the bond they shared..i mean adam morrison got a couple of rings too and lbj none yet ull never get me to say hes better than lebron lol

  • I miss these Lakers, back when they played with heart and hunger. Now, today's Lakers play good only when they want.

  • I fuckin love this that is a fuckin champion right there that is two champions right there 9 rings gettin going right there on that one play soon to be ten

  • i wish the staples center was this loud again. The celebrites ruin everything.

  • @brentoadobo because celebrities weren't there 10 years ago?

  • from the brink of elimination to the brink of the NBA Finals

  • wtf is rick fox doing at the end

  • staples was rocking when it opened. ROCKING, like wild animals, this was before it was cool to go to lakers games, and there were no faggots like adam sandler coming to the games

  • No matter how great you are you need help. Jordan needed Pippen, Kobe needed Shaq, and vice versa

  • Kobe saved us in that game!

  • This was when Staples Center was noisy.

  • Man, kobe is a monster. Shaq was a beast. They both deserved equal credit in the teams success. Shaq was not better and kobe wasnt either. Sometimes i get pissed knowing what they could have done and it didnt happen. They could have had around 8 rings and still counting if they stayed together. Oh well, they are still monsters.

  • @Bayhustlin408 agreed

  • best duo

  • The whole arena went boozuka, when Shaq dunked

  • The Combo unstoppable 3 Championships.

  • because its not the finals yet

  • more championships equals more fans higher prices= rich people in lower bowl.

  • this was 95% kobe. 5% shaq.

  • I LOVE SHAQ... he shud get a standing ovation everytime he plays n staples center, even as a celtic

  • most dominant duo of all time... cash that check ladies and gentleman.... No one can compare to these two

  • MVP of this game... The Staples Center crowd!

  • watching this honestly makes me sad shaq and kobe were the best duo to ever play the game it was a sad day when shaq left

  • II miss this staple's crowd

  • What year was this? Please reply.

  • Comment removed

  • @AllKobe24 I mean, it was 2000 WCF game 7

  • @evandroferreiradanie I was about to say....was like....did Kobe have the fro in 2002??

  • i LOVE it when the crowd goes AHHHHHHH when shaq slams it in WOW

  • Shaq & Kobe. One of the best duos EVER!

  • Kobe needs to grow the baby fro back out.

  • @Rwingsfan7 haha he cant hes balding

  • Back when the fans were teal

  • @TheHiLiteShow7 Now what color are they?

  • @aristotle86

    lol. White.

  • watch phil jacksons body at 0:49..hahahahah

  • shaq give kobe a high five ya dick!

  • one of the best plays of all time..kobe to shaq...go lakers...

  • 0:26 "Kobe Bryant's two free throws and then a jumper gave the Lakers a 4 point lead. And now his assist to Shaquille O'Neal makes it a 6 point difference."

Proof that Shaq needed Kobe just as much as Kobe needed Shaq.

  • @KesterBros And if you actually watch that game, Shaq clearly did not play his best. Kobe's defensive floor game was amazing throughout, especially on rotations, blocks, etc. Shaq's improved defense towards the end seemed to be influenced by him scoring whereas Kobe played hard either way. But, as you quoted Costas as saying, Kobe was the man who made it happen most in money time and obviously was the MVP for this game 7.

  • @FuddleDuddle24 Well said man. Never forget this game. Just tired of hearing Kobe rode Shaq's coattails to three titles. The truth is, without Kobe, Shaq doesn't get those titles either.

  • @KesterBros Nobody is able to carry a team alone, they need help, aka why Lebron is unable to win a championship and Kobe can. Kobe and Lebron are amazing but not even Jordan could carry a team to a championship, he needed a robin.

  • @KesterBros

So Kobe's 2 free throws and a jumper are equal to shaq winning all 3 finals mvps?

  • @joeycrose You do realize that without Kobe's clutch performance in this game the Lakers don't even make the Finals right? Kobe had his clutch moments in the Finals of 2000 as well. He carried the Lakers at the end of game 4 when Shaq fouled out.

  • @KesterBros wow your so stupid.... one play. shaq made that play. anybody could have put the ball up there..... for chrissakes. your an idiot if you think the lakers would have 3peated those three years without shaq in only kobe

  • @xswijnji he never said that Kobe could've done it alone.

  • @Christusolus his logic implied it dumbfuk

  • @xswijnji wow is that really necessary

  • @Christusolus awww you butthurt? phaggot

  • @KesterBros LOL. Seriously? That's really ignorant. That's one quote. Just one. Not enough justification for 3 championships in about 4 years. Shaq in 00-03 was the best player in the game. In this stretch also arguably the best big man ever. Right now, Shaq needs Kobe. No way in HELL did Shaq need Kobe in 01. And the funny thing is that your making this GIANT deal about four points. I guarantee you if they got the ball to Shaq instead of Kobe, he would've made the same 4 points. Maybe More??...

  • @thepersonwholikesppl but how many rings did Shaq win before LA?

  • @raidersfan1000 But how many rings did Kobe have before Shaq? Shaq joined the Lakers and that TEAM helped (barely) him win a championship. Kobe joined Shaq and that PLAYER made them win a championship. Shaq was in his prime with the Lakers. Not with the Magic. Thats why they won. The Magic team was arguably better than the early Lakers, when Kobe played barely better than an average league starter. Shaq obviously lead the team, I think he did more than lead, I think he was the team. My opinion.

  • @thepersonwholikesppl IF the Blazers drafted MJ instead of Sam Bowie I GUARANTEE YOU they would've won 12 straight championships. See how stupid that was ? Making an assurance towards something that will never happen again. Yeah sure, Shaq could've made the same 4 points Kobe scored, but in the end, DID HE?

  • @roxxyboxx212 My argument was reasonable.Your's Wasn't. Shaq (Was) an amazingly good shooter, and super clutch. Kobe NEVER in his career shot above 45%. If coach Jackson set up a good play, there'd be like a 80% chance Shaq would've scored. I'm not saying that I can PROVE in ANY WAY AT ALL that that would've happened, but I mean it doesn't take a genius to JUST REASON (Not Guarantee) a 7'1 350 pound 62.2% shooting giant would score 4 points in an extremely clutch situation where he thrived in.

  • @thepersonwholikesppl The stats you brought out has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the outcome of this game. And yet you got the guts to say your argument was reasonable. Man, I must really applaud you for being a brainless blind hater. I don't care if Shaq was a 95% shooter, or Kobe shot 20% for his entire career. Because the fact of the matter is, in this game, Kobe scored 4 pivotal points in the clutch that helped the Lakers advanced to the Finals. Shaq didn't. End of story.

  • RIP prime shaq and afro Kobe

  • @SWATknife

I'd take balding KB24 with the best mid-range in the league over the flashy and immature KB8.

  • Every time i watch this shit it makes me cry...the Kobe Shaq era will forever be the greatest in NBA history

  • greatest game I've witnessed live

  • lmfao @ rick fox's reaction

  • @Xphylez fucking rick fox.. i dont like him :/ but that was funny

  • I was crying after this play! Gah damn I love the Lakers!!!!
