  • nuke it before it erupts lol , now seriously , what the fuck is so bad for the rest of the world ? I understand Iceland is in danger but the world will not suffer from it .. 1 day of darkness over some countries , some ash in the sky for 1 week , boo-fucking-hoo , we won't be able to fly our comfortable asses all over erurope for 2-3 weeks , BIG FUCKING DEAL , GET OVER IT ! you can't fight nature , nature always wins.

  • Hopefully this volcano will cover Iceland with lava so they will stop their poaching of our world's whales.

  • u must read this.once u have started there is no turning back.a little

10 year old girl was raped and murdered in 1945.her body was not found until 1947.then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message.the dead girl appeard in his room haunting him and killed him.if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos in 30 minutes the dead girl will appear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you.well better start to copy and paste.

  • @alikool0001 Ok, I won't send. In fact, i'll close all the doors and windows.

  • DON'T MESS WITH ICELAND!!!

  • That thing would cause some serious global cooling

  • @Baronstone no...

  • Ok. That fake eruption shown, is wayyy off. it would never happen like that.

  • @lilgangstabowwow and that would be a a very good thing, who would want that eruption to happen?

  • @robz40 no-one. but just saying, katla normally begins quietly and quickly picks up the pace soon after the eruption has begun. buut, i'm just hoping it will stay asleep for now. I do not want to have to deal with this volcano, since I live right under it!

  • @lilgangstabowwow

"I do not want to have to deal with this volcano, since I live right under it!"

    fair enough! :-)

  • @robz40 it is too early to say wether it will be erupting or not

  • @robz40 thats nice to know that information.. looks like its some have happen there! I say though its over due warn everyone as much as we can for people's safety.. Iceland is a pretty active island to live on.. few, I will pray it doesn't go until everyone is warned..

  • I hear its preparing to erupt...

  • @JAGPRODUCTIONS2010 there's no ''preparing'' to talk about. it has pretty much been preparing itself since 1918, and is ready to erupt. but, until the pressure surrounding the magma under the volcano drops, there's nothing going to happen, and from the looks of it, it could be a few years before any signs of an eruption begin to take notice :)

  • first tremor ON katla today 17 May 2010 see graphs on the website

  • full documentary on v=uHsHxPW_T9Q

  • have a look at the link on more info guys and see how many tremors in the Mýrdalsjökull area last few hours. they are mainly near the erupting Eyetcetc but Katla is right under the Mýrdalsjökull galacier

  • I was astounded to learn that the European meteorological satellites are sub-optimal for monitoring ash concentrations. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot the US does wrong in disaster planning. Katrina, for example. We have a hard time forcing people to evacuate who don't want to leave, for one. But we have put up some satellites for the sake of defense primarily that have had an impact in the commercial meteorological field.

  • Eruptions of Katla have taken place (since known and recognized human settlement): 1918, 1860, 1823, 1755-56, 1721, 1660-61, 1625, 1612, 1580, 1416, 1357, 1311, 1262, 1245, 1177, 950.

  • therefore going back in time since 1918 Katla erupted with the following intervals (years): 58-37-68-34-60-36-13-32-164-59-46-49-17-68-227-

  • has there been any seismic activity in may at Katla?

  • @Neanerthebeaner or even better click on Mýrdalsjökull on that website

  • @robz40 Great!..thanks so much for the info..that's a cool website. are you from iceland, or do you just have an interest in volcanism?..

  • @Neanerthebeaner I live in the UK and I love knowing about science in general, energy policies in particular

  • There's no way to avoid the argument that the two volcanoes erupt in sync for reasons we don't understand. Ignoring this warning is extremely foolhardy. Europe has to prepare for alternative transportation to air and dedicate itself to improving ash cloud density monitoring.

  • @burgesspeanut exactly, like common sense would suggest.

  • @burgesspeanut I agree.. i definatly have a feeling that Katla will erupt...they have a chance to get some planning done.. I wonder if they will? :S...the scary thing is the global consequences though!

  • Katla if you don't use you lose it. Its a Limp Volcano.

  • Quanta energia....

in fondo ne sappiamo ancora cosi poco..

Bel video e speriamo che Katla stia buono a nanna!

    :)

  • it does not erupt, katla is to old.

  • @pietjanhenk I do hope you're right....
