After watching this, I can't for the life of me understand why Burton Cummings is not a household name. Talent wise he's right up there with Paul McCartney and Billy Joel, although he wasn't nearly as prolific a songwriter as they were.
@weightfeather1 - uh....don't think so ! I've just seen him Jan 15th 2012 and he sounded GREAT ! - I think he's better now than in this video , maybe because he has been quitting smoking , his voice is clear and strong again. He put on a very passionate performance that night ! we the audience were all sweating w/ Burton *****!
Only a flautist could develop this kind of vocal support and control. I should have known he played the flute on this one! Multi-talented man with a one-of-a-kind voice! ***CHEERS***
I remember listening to this with my mom as a young girl, but I thought for the longest time he was saying "She's become a nun." I was only 2 when this came out, so what did I know? Love it even more now!
@blueberries4ever his voice was not the greatest but he had style and a lot of feeling, that's why the songs he sang were true 'cause he put everything he had behind every interpretation.
Weightfeather, you must have hearing problems like someone who may have had a head injury or psychosis. Best not to listen to classic music from someone who had a great voice and is still giving his best. Sadly its best for you to just give up listening.
A couple months before my mom passed away my brother and I were sitting out on her deck on a warm summer day and this song came on the radio. It was like, "soon we'll have to go through a very tough time, but right now everything is right with the world."
I am listening to this songs as my world is falling apart. And I wish that I was silly insecure girl that could talk to Kent about what was going on and what I was feeling. And just get some brotherly love from an old friend that I haven't seen in over 30years but who I still remeber fondly with every Guess Who song that I am lucky enough to hear
The Guess Who... wow this performance was great....all of their songs seem to be my favorites but Undun and These eyes seem to stand out but then No time...American Woman...Laughing ..No Sugar Tonight and all the rest could be right there with all my favorite songs..thanks for this post...brings back alot of memories..I listened to all these songs when I was overseas serving during Nam... Thanks again...it is great...
@dorvalguy - youre correct. The Guess Who is still touring (I had Patron Tequila with them @ Windstar Casino in Oklahoma in 2009)... They told me Burton Cummings said he will never sing with them again...
I love this video

It's in the wrong key, isn't it ?? Voice is WAY too HIGH. Anyway, Burton sounds so much better today. HIS VOICE WAS LOW.

I met a guy on Bloor St, hours before the concert, and paided him $110.00 for two seats, 10th row center. Best 110 bucks that I ever spent.

Thanks for sharing this, but it wasn't from the year 2000. It was from The Guess Who 'Together Again' concert in 1983. :)

@dorvalguy I stand corrected. It is indeed from their Together Again concert in 1983. Many thanks for the info.
