I've downloaded a few FLAC albums, but they show up as powerdesk files on my computer, and I cannot convert them using the program directly from FLAC. What is the best windows conversion program and how do I convert the powerdesk albums?

Thanks for the guide - downloaded flac files from freesound for use in protools, and this showed me how to convert to WAV. Def go with XLD from what I've seen here!

two questions. Is there a maximum amount of files you can convert? I have a TB of dead shows that I want to have an extra copy of all of them in AAC format for my iphone. I assume it converts a copy of the original files ? Leaving my originals in tact?

You could always down-convert to "Apple Lossless". Its just as good as a WAV file. You can't tell the difference in audio quality.

I have the same problem as boalohanuiloa - i downloaded the LAME application. All I got were many subfolders, none of which contain anything that actually runs on my Mac. Can anyone help? thanks

Why would you waste perfectly good flac files converting them to mp3 and destroying the quality. Just convert them to apple lossless and it plays in itunes and on any (recent) ipod. iPods fail anyway, zune imo.

Why not load it with Rockbox? no need to convert then.

Not all Ipods can be loaded with Rockbox. Not the Classic, 2g, 3g, and 4g Nano and the Touch/Iphone, and neither can the Shuffle.

I'm keeping my 5G Ipod going as long as I can. Rockbox is awesome.
