The exit letters are actually based on the original plans of the highway which referred to the various ramps by letter. When the connector first opened, there were no exit tabs. They were added to the signs about a year later.
@tpir1972 in NJ, exits are numbered based on mileage along a road, but since the connector has so many exits within a short distance, the exits are lettered to avoid confusion and repetition. for example, instead of the existing sequential lettered exits, the exits under a mileage-based scheme would be more like: 1A-1B-1C-2A-2B-2C-2D-etc.
@tpir1972 there are many possibilities for video expansion in the future in NJ, but I still have many more central and southern NJ videos to upload still so let's see where we're at once those are all up ;)

And why are the exits in LETTERS and not NUMBERS like or Route 30 it says Exit E?
