I drove mine 700+km at 6000rpm (180-200km/h in 5th) no problems (thats 4 hours of driving)...I constantly bag the shit outta it, and after 80,000km of doing this...the rings have finally succumbed and its burning oil. No biggie cause for $742 I got a KLZE. The only thing shitty about my mx-3 is the fuel economy.

@DiZzErecords613 I drove a Mazda as well as a Honda. Mazda engine broke twice. Honda engine with same mileage runs perfectly until now and aside from normal maintenance never saw the inside of a garage...Yeah right, mazda power (note the sarcasam)
