And this was actually done in WW2. I read that several squadrons used bombs with timers in order to blow american bomber squadrons (however, Me 109's were used). However, they weren't as successful as you in this video, so the tactic was abandoned.

In a book from one of the WW2-flyers. I think it's Adolf Galland's book, but I'm not sure. The tactic was tried in 1943, but abandoned quickly because of low efficiency. The bombs were set with a time-fuse that should blow after dropping 3000 feet. However, the pilots had to guess those 3000 feet height difference because they didn't have any helping electronic equiment. Many bombs exploded too early or too late, therefore it wasn't a very useful method.

It has been tried by Heinz Knoke a german ace (finished the war with 52 victories). He wrote a book in which he describes his air-to-air bomb attempts on US bombers. You can find more info on Wiki.
