  • Thanks so much...super song!! Many memories from the past...

  • You're very welcome, MyNancy52-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • This when music was by real singers and musicians.

  • Thank you for uploading another 60s classic!

  • You're welcome, cbcrleung-san!!

    Otaku3 (^_^)/

  • I was born in 1958. I remember being six years old and having this album. I loved this song and my parents bought me the album. Although I no longer have the LP, this song transports me to a much better time. Thank you for posting.

  • You're welcome, jujubee4224-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • This is REAL music! I was just a born in 1964. It is a shame there is not music like this now.

  • The 50's and 60's were the best times for music. I'm so glad I lived my best days during that time.

  • Yes, this song brings back memories of the 1960's.

  • Does anyone else get instantly transported back to their childhood like I do when this song plays? I vividly picture my older cousin's transistor radio on a picnic table at the Lake. Peter and Gordan were playing in the background. My younger cousins were all in the Lake frolicing in the water. Grandma and Grandpa were grilling burgers. My Mother, and Aunts were setting out food. A day oh so memorable, so much a part of my past and brought to life via Peter and Gordan on Youtube.

  • They're Peter and "Gordon".

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • @jeff62rey I so understand what your saying!!! :)

  • @jeff62rey a proven fact is; music is the 2nd best thing for bringing back old memories (the first being scent/smell)

  • It's hilarious how you always reply to people saying you're welcome, XXXXXX-san!!

Otaku (insert a variation of a cute face here)

    Hilarious!

  • When I meet another person, I become such a face anytime.

Are you always a wry face?

    ...Otaku3

  • @60otaku3 umm nope, don't think I was suggesting that. Perhaps you misunderstood. I think it's cute lolz, and I never said it was a bad thing. No I am not always a wry face. But I can say that if I did a (^.^)Y face every time I met someone, I think I would scare them off.

  • roberth214-san,

    it is merely a joke.

If I always meet another person with such a smiling face, the people will think me not to be sane.

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • Never get tired of hearing this song. Many have heard this "Swan Song". It just rips you up.

  • Wow, it's as good today as it ever was. P&G were trying to make the best sound they could, and they were wildly successful! It's a real classic that evokes uncontrollable memories when heard.

  • Such a beautiful song. Ever since I learned it I can't stop playing.

Wish The Beatles would of made a version =(

  • love this song thankyou

  • You're welcome, dewatif-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • @60otaku3 I see you have a very large playlist , for some reason they limited me to 200 per playlist,go figure.I see you have many of the same tunes as I do on your list. You might like this by Patsy Cline,I Fall To Pieces.Very old song but timeless.I am very new to this and I don't know how to actually share anything yet or I would.

  • Thank you dewatif-san!!

I am glad your playlist resembles me.

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • Pricless memories of living in Germany as a yound man. Thanks

  • You're welcome, StevieReaRea-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • I love this song , takes me to my first real love. Thanks for the memory!

  • You're welcome, 64doc1942-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)v

  • Thanks for posting. One of the greatest!!! Gives me great memories...NOTHING like this song exists today...Damn, I am so glad I grew up in the 60's!!

  • You're welcome, bobjan2000-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • It was great growing up with this music..So many bands and so much music to enjoy. Being born in 1946 put me right in the swing of things with rock' n' roll, folk, and country music...Thanks..

    Wayne..

  • You're welcome, Wayne-san!!

    Otaku (^o^)/

  • A great song from a great decade of music, British, American, and Japan. Cant say the same for the violence, war and racism, shame on the world.

  • one of my best all time classics. Thanks for posting this verson

  • You're welcome, 00002696-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)v

  • Nice clean stereo reproduction. Good job !

  • Thank you TimCincy2004-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • Del suffered, man. You can tell by this song, right?

  • Wernt they on the Flintstones?

  • @saganhill Nope. That was The Beau Brummels.

  • Otaku3. You're right. I was being stupid. I'm sorry.

This is a beautiful song but it did remind me of an stupid phase in my life.

  • Thank you for understanding my intention, RonEvane-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • You deleted my comment!? Noooooo! I will now, (with your permission) have a nervous breakdown!

Aaaargh, I've fallen and I can't get up!!

  • I think you are confusing a meaning of the comment on the song.

    ...Otaku3

  • RonEvane,

Because your comment had nothing to do with this song, I deleted it.

    60otaku3

  • brings back many memories thx

  • You're welcome, dean0754-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • I was a junior in high school when this song came out. I had a an 8 transistor radio and it got a lot of use. KFRC 610 and KYA 1260 was the main rock and roll station's in San Francisco and the East Bay. Every body seemed to have a radio and carried them around like cell phone's are today. I still have my radio and it still works. I loved the 1960s. It was the greatest time to be alive. I went to Vietnam in 1969 and when I got back thing's had changed so much, and not for the better.

  • peter asher, brother of paul mcartney's first real love

  • Ah yes, memories of my days in Veitnam, Laos, and Thailand...my war went on & on. During Desert Storm, I bought audiotapes of these songs in Saudi Arabia, and played them every night...memories unlimited!

  • @Wagneryan Wow! So many memories. I remember the Vietnam war all to well. I was at Kent the year after the protest resulted in innocent children being killed by innocent children. My Grandmother had a boarding house there during that time, and told me about the helicopters flying over her house....

  • their first US hit not written by Paul McCartney.Del Shannon was a real talent.

  • Was not their first US hit song "A World Without Love"?

That song was written by Lennon/McCartney.

    ...Otaku3

  • @60otaku3 he mean that this was their first hit that wasn't written by Lennon/McCartney.

  • Oh... Thank you lucas07700-san!

Sorry, I've gone and jumped to conclusions...

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • @60otaku3 you're welcome, i love your channel.

  • this osng reminds me of 8th grade. a lot of things have changed since then, but one thing hasnt: i still love this song!

  • Great song but sounds better in Mono! without the horns!

  • Fond Memories of my teen years. Thanks for posting..

  • You're welcome, vva4844-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)v

  • I was about 10 when this was a radio hit:) I like hearing this version of it. Thanks for posting all this wonderful music, Otaku friend.

  • You're welcome, Lance-san!!

    Otaku (*^o^)/

  • everytime i hear this song i always remember a particular girl i had a crush back when i was in high school...Due to our different status in life, i never had a chance to talk to her...though sometimes i would catch her giving me a stolen look..

  • I once heard Del Shannon tell the story of the time that he and Peter & Gordon were on tour in Australia when they asked him if he minded if they covered his song "I Go To Pieces" . . . he supposedly said to them, "go for it," and the rest is history . . . although I do love Del's version of the song as well . . .

  • I always wondered what influenced my song writing, and after listening to, and following along with my guitar, I discovered that songs like this, and others of that era, are what did it. This is such a great song, and we should all be glad that YouTube is available to us.

  • I'm 20 years old and <3 this song. The voices, the guitars and everything else makes this song a classic song. What happened to the music industry? Why in the hell is Lil Wayne and LMFAO #1 on the billboard charts? I do enjoy some GaGa, Ke$ha, and DEV as guilty pleasures but nothing beats this. Thank god I have parents that grew up in the 60s and graduated from high school in the mid-70s. Long live the classic oldies!

  • Stunning, beautiful. Back when real music was recorded by real singers. I was 15 when this came out......memories....

Thank you so much for posting this version - excellent audio. (Japanese album, yes? Have read they are often better than US versions.)

  • You're welcome, ryckoffr-san!!

This is the Japanese 45 rpm record released in mid 60's.

    Otaku3 d(^_^)b

  • @ryckoffr The reason Japanese AND European records were a higher quality with out all the pops crackles is because the US records were mostly recycled vinyl with many impurities in the carbon. Classical music in contrast was never recycled only the good stuff .

  • You're very welcome, aroyalrosa-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • The intro is one of the most beautiful ever heard!

  • I absolutlely love this song......it takes me back....wish I could go gack......I hate the time we are living in now. I miss her.....

  • Is this a remake or a "remastered" take? It sounds kind of out of place. (Although quite good!)

  • This is a remastered version recently released.

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • @visor109 This is the original in its original multitrack recording.

  • divisorplot,

Because your comment had nothing to do with this song, I deleted it.

    60otaku3

  • itzbernie100,

    I deleted all your comments.

Please do not post an unapt comment here.

    60otaku3

  • Great song of the 60s ,,written by the great Del Shannon ,rock and roll forever !!!!

  • love this

  • This has got to be one of the all time classic sixties recordings.

Just a pure joy for me to hear. Everytime I do it makes me think of a certain someone.

We all have one of those in our lives and the song is like memory transporter.

    Thanks for posting :-)

  • You're welcome, wareidav-san!!

  • You're welcome, moonymoon27-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • the beatles gave them this song the beatles= great writers

  • @1988Donzi33 oh shit nvm that was a world without love

  • This song was written by Del Shannon.

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • It's a fantasic song that makes you feel sad and happy and full of hope that better times will come.

  • great song to listen to when someone gives you the shaft

  • I remember loving this as a teen, I'm now 25 and even though I'm a girl, this song really hit the spot for me when I broke up with this guy, I was like wow, I thought I was the only one who felt these feelings and emotions and its beautiful how they're put in song.

  • Great Song!

  • This song is a true legacy to a time of youthful exuberance, hope, and the company of loved ones far removed now. Thanks for the memory!

  • You're welcome, stanich054-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)v

  • @60otaku3

Yes, it's the memory. When everything seems to be changing, memory is everlasting!!

    Youtube friend from Hong Kong

  • Thank you for the comment, LOKAMLING-san!!

    Your Japanese friend,

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • @stanich054 Try Johnie Tillitson and Del Shannon, the writer, live. It's way beyond P&G's version ON RECORD

  • I remember what she said when she said "Goodby Baby" She hurt me so much inside After thirty years I still cry.......

  • Thanks for posting such a great tune from a time in my life I was truly happy. Songs like this from the 60's were greatly responsible for my love of music. They sound as good today as they did all those years ago. Sadly the kids today have no idea what real music is all about.

  • You're welcome, bluespirit52-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • Still hits hard after all these years, they could really sing......Nothing today can touch this.....Thanks for posting!!

  • You're welcome, skeetdaddy0-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)v

  • beautiful... it is amazing how deep some of these songs went inside my heart. sometimes it is surprising to see how the songs shaped my thinking and emotion, some good, some not so good. either way, they still hold some kind of importance and feeling. they are keys to a whole world of perception.

    many thanks for sharing

  • You're very welcome, MrBuckwilliam-san!!

    Otaku3 d(^_^)b

  • @MrBuckwilliam

So very, very well said . You hit it on the nail. Growing up in that era of music carried me into my adult years and it saddens me that it is gone ... but not forgotten.

  • thanks for sharing, beautiful song,,, love it.

  • You're welcome, wehD1nga-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • LAD GODIVA IS ANOTHER HIT THE DUO SANG ...GOOD DUO FROM ENGLAND ...PETER ASHER IS BROTHER TO JANE ASHER ACTRESS WHO DATED PAUL MCARTHEY

  • More great memories....down in Monterey CA...

  • 60otaku3 - thanks very much for uploading this superb Peter and Gordon hit. People always say what a fine arrangement and production it is. I’m sure Peter Asher had more than a little to do with that part, as he later became of music’s best producers.

By the way, I Go to Pieces has some of the greatest rock and roll torch song lyrics:

“I go to places we used to go

But I know she’ll never show.”

I used to love playing this on the air during my dj days and still love to hear it.

  • You're very welcome, BobWhiteRewind-san!!

    Otaku3 d(^o^)b

  • @BobWhiteRewind Could it be Sir Paul McCartney may have had some influence on their career!?!? Although, he had nothing to do with the creation of this song, he certainly gave them a bevy over the years including, perhaps, their finest:"Woman"! P.S. 60otaku3 I hope you are holding your own, my Japanese friend! Thanks for the upload, it sounds fabulous!

  • @redsfanstu Yes, Sir Paul really influenced the career of Peter and Gordon. Besides giving songs to them, “Nobody I Know” was actually written by Lennon and McCartney. Still, I Go to Pieces is my favorite from Peter and Gordon. Also, kudos to Del Shannon for writing this great song & recording the first (and similar) version of it. Interesting how Paul continues performing while Peter concentrated on producing & record co. management No need to go into the Paul McCartney- Jane Asher connection

  • @BobWhiteRewind AMEN!!

  • @BobWhiteRewind This song was written by Norman Smith, who was the OTHER guy in the recording booth at EMI Abbey Road or just about all the Beatle records up to 1966.

  • @douglasamarshall No, that was another song. This was Del Shannon's. Sorry.

  • @douglasamarshall you are correct sir...thanks!!

  • @douglasamarshall If you get a chance, check out Del Shannon's version which is also on YouTube - it's good, but this is REALLY good.

  • @BobWhiteRewind Thanks, I did! I think that there were at least two actual Beatle connections with Del Shannon: he was the first American artiste to cover a Beatle tune (from Me To You, and he was working closely with George Harrison at the time of his untimely death. They recorded his "Runaway",and he certainly would have made a competent replacement or Roy Orbison as a Wilbury.

  • Many thanks for posting this beautiful song.

  • You're very welcome, MrCordero5-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • I just love this so much!

  • one of the greatest hits of all time.

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • I'm only 29 but grew up on the oldies like this. I love this one in particular.

  • This song.

  • @RJiminez51 Thank you for most kind comment, And also for his service I thank him...so sorry about your friends....kindest reguards...1949sorful

  • rommell83 your words are so-o-o true. I am in the same place in life that you are and when I hear songs like this I want to go back to a happier time but I know I can't. I have alot of great memories but I would give ANYTHING to do it all again. Thanks for posting this wonderful song 60otaku3.

  • 1/27/2011 Great advice from rommell83! As well as comments bygrickard3 and 60otaku3...History is to be preserved, as that era was the seeds of rock 'n roll. And to rommell83: I am a 1953 "boomer", buy am a "young"57, still reliving daily the era of the 60's, at least musically speaking. It makes me feel good, although I won't ever be 10y.o. in 1963 again. Playing guitar as I have since 1966, helps greatly to keep the spirit alive. It's not too far away, when no boomers will be on earth. Enjoy!

  • One of the very best songs of 1965 hands down!

  • I haven't heard this song since it was a hit on the radio. Thank you for posting it!

It's one of those songs that keeps running through my head.

  • You're welcome, 49kasey-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • I can't stop playing this song!

  • i love peter and gordon but all i ever here is people writing songs for them.. del shannon wrote this one. and paul wrote world without love.. hmm someone show me the light!!

  • Ever wonder why most songs of the time were about heart breaks? Reality. And everyone can relate to them

  • I really LOVE this song but I feel there´s something sad about it !

  • wonderful song : )

  • What a great song! Oh the memories that rush into my mind of past loves!

  • This was probably Del Shannon`s greatest achievement, a soulful balad that still

penetrates to the heart of every young man whose first true love walked out and

never returned. Thanks Del, from Bernie.

  • very good good !

  • Such a beautiful song from peter and Gordon. The lyrics themselves say so much; love that is unrequited but savored never the less. The beauty of a song is its ability to convey or stir emotion in the listener and this definately does.

  • im 23 and Im deeply disappointed with the music today...what happened to passion and romance in music!!!! Thank you 60otaku3, This and among many others are truely timeless classics!!-Robby

  • You're welcome, MiGrandeCazzo-san!!

    Otaku3 d(^_^)b

  • @MiGrandeCazzo Thank crikey for YouTube, aye?!

  • @MiGrandeCazzo I wont lie... i'm 30 and like some modern stuff. BUT there really is alot of pure shit out now too. I listen to more of this old stuff than anything else.

  • @MiGrandeCazzo I'm 30 and disapointed too. This old stuff was so much better. Today it's all about the money and awards. More of a popularity contest than anything in my opinion!

  • @yardtechbrando man your so right!!!! its all about how much money we can make and how to flaunt it...ITS DIGUSTING in all four of my eyes!!!!

  • @MiGrandeCazzo Listen to The Treading Lemmings!

  • @TreadingLemming I havnt heard of them...Im gonna give em a listening too! Thanks!

  • @MiGrandeCazzo Please get used to it MiGrandeCazzo because it is not getting better anytime soon, sorry

  • @funfunfuntheautobahn Unfortunately it's the truth...It's a sad but true story :( now we have "p diddy and lady gaga" omg PLEASE NOOOOOOOOO

  • Thank goodness some YouTubers have the great sense to upload great classic songs such as this one for this and future generations to listen to. Mainstream oldies FM stations hardly ever touch this song anymore and one must subscribe to Sirius or another satellite music service to hear this and other lost classics on the airwaves these days.

  • Thanks for the comment, grickard319582010-san!!

If many YouTube users think so the same as you, I am glad.

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • @grickard319582010 That's why I collect records. I can play my own oldies that you never hear on the radio.
