this is freaking blu-ray compared to the old workprint, seriously! it's almost on par with the Arabian Knight japanese dvd! or maybe that's just me over-reacting.
Excellent, thanks for this. The storyboard sketches fill the gaps far better than the Calvert elements. I'll take this as the final film until either a higher quality of this workprint appears, or Williams returns to finish it himself.
The Disney Company owns it (from what I remember, Miramax was bought out by Disney). About a decade ago, back when Roy Disney was still alive, there was talk of Williams getting to finish his film, the way he wanted to see it, with the help of the Walt Disney Animation Studio. However, with all the regime changes that's taken place within Disney since then, I don't think it's been talked about for years...
I was one of the crew working on the 'butchered' version, as he put it, at the very end when it was taken from him. Sadly they didn't have enough money to do the ideas that I proposed that would have kept the original flavor and beauty of the film. Money was the culprit that prevented it's perfect completion. However what DOES exist YET remains a wonderful testament to what inspired it in the first place. I love this film, warts and all.
"You know, there are alot of places in this film that could have used some music but other then that, this is really something special" if only the people at Warner Brothers said something like that rather then just reject the workprint all together.
you know there's enough talent out there that folks could come together and do this...and finish it in a year or two...the guidance is there...and the power is there...as long as folks don't use up the world's supply of paper and paint i personally feel it can be done...tha'ts just me tho
If only I could find the workprint in Greece! It would be one of the greatest animations ever, if it wasn't the companies. Yet, although unfinished, it is a live animation lesson!

Who actually owns this film now?
Do Miramax keep it locked in a vault somewhere?

another intreasting look on the film that could have... hm would you think if this film was complete now a days it would get the same response.
if you ask me this (if it was released) would really help repopularize 2d animation in theaters
since companies now a days are to lazy to do so
