  • Good idea.

  • Hey Dave thanks for this lesson . I was wondering if there are tabs for this lesson on your site because i cant find it.thanks

  • all vids and tabs will b on riffoftheweek . com eventually

  • I like the sound of this guitar. I wonder what settings on my PODxt Live Pedal could make me that Fusion guitar sound. I'm trying to relate my tone to Al Di Meola, Brett Garsed, and especially this guitar's sound. I love this guitar's sound a lot, it's exactly what I'm looking for. Any suggestions? By the way Dave, nice lesson.

  • Tone is in the fingers.

  • I meant like as the setup, sound of the guitar. Not the tone of the guitar its-self, the effects.

  • Ah, you mean signal path. I think in this vid it was guitar - maxon vop9 - holy grail plus - bassman.

  • Thank-you brother.

  • Okay, I got one more question for you brother. What was the setup (the nobs) of the overdrive pedal and the bass amp?

  • It is funner 2 improv all day long ... but picking the best improv 4 a "video" is aggravating ... cuz some takes are better than others in different area's ... then u kick urself in the ass later 4 not making something up [8?O

  • dave!

    you are a great inspiration

im really getting better at my guitar playing

  • That little addon at the end of the riff (2:10) was just killer. It was so simple, but it's those things that come from just knowing what sounds good and not just playing notes for the sake of it.

You have the coolest insight on teaching. Cheers to you. I'll be signing up on the website soon.

  • You're great I saw you at Mexico City a few years ago. Thanks for your lessons.

  • thanks Dave!, your lessons inspires me to practice and be a better player!

  • good to hear!

  • I definitely have this ADD.

Thanks for the lesson Dave I'm going to get on that tonight. Truly separates the technicians from the musicians.

  • Hi Dave, you're doing a great job for so long time and free. I really appreciate.

I have just a little question

Will tabs from your old uploaded videos (from season1,2,3) be available because i didn't find

them on riifoftheweekdotcom (only july 2009) and your previous website

    daveweinerdotcom?

I hope to get an answer from you (even if you must be a busy guy) or someone else

Anyway, thanks a lot for your great lessons.:)

  • Yes all vids and tab will come back but it will take some time.

  • Great lesson Dave! Could you please use a 7 string with clear fretboard markers so we can easily follow.

    Keep using those 7's !

  • If I had one, I would!

  • Hey Dave....after 3 years following u, I decided to finally say something. ... I just wanna say thank u very much for all your vids, tryin to help people, playin and explainin things,, u´re doin a great job, and i know that there´re a lot of people ( at least in Spain ) that only know u because u have been tourin´with Steve Vai, but a lot of people don´t know that u´ re a great composer too, and a great guy, so KEEP ROCKIN AND KEEP MAKIN MUSIC!!!

  • Thx very much for the kind words!

  • ups.... I send you a message because it wasn´t workin xD... thank 4 readin´and as I said keep rockin!!!!!

  • cmon

its gonna take ages to reach that level

    but I wont give up!!!

  • i like the background music coming in at the end there, but having it play through the video (except the actual riff) seems to catch my ear more often then your talking hah.

    awesome lesson.

  • I agree..which is why i never put in background music. But there is something nice about it. I think if i create non-distracting background music, that'll be a better fit.

  • Nice guitar, is that a custom 7 string?

    I like it

  • yes, LACS 7

  • what pickups are in your custom 7 strings? Or are they custom lol

  • In that one I believe it's PAF 7s

  • i know on twitter you were selling some equipment. There wouldn't happen to be one of your 7 string custom guitars in there would there?

  • Maybe the S7 if you have $5k laying around.

  • y of course! Lol thanks, but i guess im going to have to pass. =p

  • dave your chops are getting incredible.

  • cool lesson. also, i'm digging the new opening and closing graphics.

  • Thanks for the great idea!

  • Wow, did you have someone else do a intro like that, or have you just got computer skills to ?

  • awesome dave howz the album comin along???

  • repeat !

  • so i had no idea about the jamtracks until today (shows how much i pay attention lol)

anyways that is an amazing resource for people who don't always have a band to play with.

    thanks a ton.

  • Great Lesson Dave

  • hey dave, would it be possible if do a tour of ur gear stuff, and show us what kind of gear you use, and how the chain works and kind of like a tutorial of gear for us. thanks

  • I second that. Hard to find a good tutorial on the technology.

  • what are you studying Dave, I see a music stand behind you with sheet music.

  • learning some Chick Corea tunes

  • Jass + Chick tunes?

  • awesome, I've been playing Corea tunes too, Got A Match, Spain, Armando's Rhumba ;D. Got A Match's head is darn difficult :P
