  • Great 500 Tune! Atkins melodic journey through Bits & Bytes is an amazing evergreen!

  • Brilliant track from back in the day. I remember hearing it on pirate radio and thinking WOW what is this!

  • The background starting at 0:15 is just deep shit! It perfectly fits to this spacy playful surface. Masterpiece!

  • I never listen to techno, but I would if it all sounded like this!

  • awesome - take me back!

  • Detroit guys had a master´s vision, that image of Techno as a futuristic world with A.I, Computers and electronics is the base of what people used to think in the late 80s and early 90´s about it (Just look at the record name)....

Juan Atkins is really the founder of this, and Transmat is Legend.

  • not heard this tunes for years!!! gotta love a bit off transmatt..like me, a relic

  • LOL model 500 nice

  • listening to this i get a little sad for present music. cause these guys from detroit could do such imaginary tracks with simple decks and drum machines and present music makers with all that technology can't even touch this. so technology couldn't substitute imagination.

  • @mitroveca so true ..old skool rules

  • real music

  • everything is perfect on this, no beat/sound/effect is out of place. Nothing wasted and a perfect groove!!That is the detroit sound for me. Many thanks for the upload.

  • great tune. 20 years later and still so fresh.

    classic.

  • Holy crap I had this - thanks for the memory!!!

  • too beautiful, magical ...

  • Actually, this is NOT Infoworld, this is Wanderer. Infoworld is hot too. I have this record too, but I don't have turntables anymore. So please post Infoworld if you can!! thank you :)

  • This is Infoworld, labels were mispressed

  • @cajjer so you're saying that although Ocean to Ocean has 2 tracks on one side, and that what you call Infoworld is actually the second track on the other side because of a misprint? Not trying to start anything but Wanderer is actually a more appropriate title (sounds like someone wandering through space) anyway, if you can, post the first one with the wrong title LOL

  • I do believe I got this idea from the title given on the Relics album

However, they got Art of Stalking wrong on that album, so I take everything back :)

  • @cajjer LOL it's cool man I know sometimes they do goof up. I questioned Derrick May last year when I saw him (since he and Juan know each other) and in essence, he said the same thing.

  • one of my favourite records on vynl...just love every lick and every sound!

    juans the daddy of techno.

  • oh yeah

    * * * * *

  • bought me the RELICS sampler yesterday on the fleamarket. this track was on it.... nice buy for 2 €!

    made my day!

  • Great score!

    Congrats!

  • Relics?? On Transamt?? i paid a fortune for that a couple of years back,, i mean a fortune,,but i had to have it, so, you know the way it goes, you gotta have it,, if you got it for 2notes, well i paid 75 times what you paid, but shit happens,, quality record though.

  • @71dubfreak

Yes Relics A Transmat Compilation, is a rare but so so needed record of Detroit´s Sound, IS VERY EXPENSIVE, i really dont know how that guy find it on 2 bucks!!!... It cost on Discogs Market Place from 50 to 200 Euro (Used)!. Well since is out of print and not on CD stores... the only ones findables are from 1992-93.

And i recommend Youtube Guys to download it, is a masterpiece probably the best compilation of Detroit Techno, along with Techno: The New Sound of Detroit.

  • @grizzuh Oh man, you bought Relics on just 2 €!, YOU ARE MAD LUCKY.

  • @grizzuh

OH guy!! Impossible, where, that CD cost a lot!!!, and its hard to find!!.

Congrats, great piece of Techno! you have!.

  • vamos!!!

  • I wish Juan Atkins was still around. His vision for techno was superior to almost any other, in my opinion. Much more interesting than what's been produced since.

  • Juan Atkins is still around!

He never stopped making tracks ;)

  • tell em' again. never fear we are still here!!

  • he just played DEMF in 07 and he did the opening after party for DEMF 09 this year i got to see the The Prodigy the night befor DEMF they were there for their invaders must die tour back on May 22 then spent 3 days at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival

  • my partner is still here wat do u mean?

  • Yeah he's still around, needs to take care of his health though last I heard. Bless you Juan!!!

  • @freeeekyyy He's still makin' music and I've seen him DJ a couple of times in the last few years :)

  • @freeeekyyy He's definitely still around, unless that was an imposter playing at Glade

  • @freeeekyyy Where do you think hes gone?

  • @freeeekyyy hes not dead mate.

  • Comment removed

  • Timeless Space Funk..........

  • Totally incomparable

  • This track is so extra-ordinary its ridiculous!

What on earth goes thru ones mind to come up with something like this - absolutely spectacular sound design!

18 Years later and im none the wiser of how he did it!

Hats off to you Juan - you are indeed the needle that cuts the groove!

    AMAZING!

    Tam:)

  • juan so much deeper the may

  • well... different !

  • Got it on vinyl. So sweet a song! Thanks Mr. Atkins, you are one of the greatest producers of all time!

  • the greatest

  • The greatest of 3: Drexciya, Mike Banks and Juan Atkins!

Nowadays best Theo Parrish, Omar S and Moodymann.

    Long live Detroit!

  • fresh !!!

  • COLD! Juan Atkins laying down some inner city science..(what is that sparkly synth sound he is always using??) This is maybe my favorite Model 500 song, really raw and honest and always funky. Makes me proud of my roots in techno.

  • I N F O R M A T I O N W O R L D

  • L A B E L A R T T H E T R I

  • Yes ! Juan should include this track in his liveset!

  • This really is one of Juan's shining moments. Continuing on where Kraftwerk left off. . . Thanks Juan!

  • I would have to agree with you all the way on that comment.Where would we all be without Juan etc.

  • Extra brownie points for correctly noticing that the track is mislabelled on the 12" as "wanderer"!

  • Cheers buddy! ;) :)

  • Absolute classic track, Juan always new what the future should've sounded like.

  • The 'Wave of Life' converted onto vinyl for our listening pleasure! Who would dare test these boys musical dexterity - i know i wont, i,d be drowning even with my armbands on...lmao!

A wave smashing 'FIVE STAR POST' *****

If anyone can - Leon can!

    Tam:)

  • Great, great comment once again mate! Nice one Tam! Juan would be proud of you!

btw- have you ever thought of writing for a music magazine? You have a great way with words.Respect.

  • well Leon, you,ve just triggered a tear in my eye, what a lovely thing to say!

Got pure admiration for you bruv!

    Tam :)

  • "Got pure admiration for you bruv! "

Ditto bruv! Now big up yerself!

  • OMG! - This has got to be one of THE BEST musical arrangements i've ever heard! Music made 4 the 'Forbidden Planet', Im gonna play this as loud as i can, and reverberate its arrival on youtube! Its a 'Tenth Planet' mindset of a cryptic code that not everyone will understand....Listen carefully as Juan Atkins takes you deep underground - the sea!

A ripple of genius that helps you transcend ur thought to the bottom of the ocean.

Put ur headphones on an close ur eyes!

    Dazzling post Leon!

  • Great, great comment! Nice one Tam!
