correction: you can't unlock anything on the gamecube, because it's already unlocked beforehand. unlockables are only available through the dreamcast version.

The alt costumes have additional effects, too. Sonic only gets the Speed Up from collecting rings; Shadow, only Chaos Spear; Knuckles and rouge, only their attack abilities; Tails gets NO specials, but can move VERY fast; and Eggman can't use lock-on missiles, but gets only the laser special. Thel all say different things at the start of the match, too.

sounds like sonic got jipped. it would have been nice if the suits turned off abilities because they ruin race competitions. as soon as some guy gets ahead he gets all the rings and repeatedly spams powers so the other guy can never catch up.

also these stupid things are not worth the effort. i had all but one suit back before my dreamcast got ruined and no desire to do it again on gamecube.

@111iAm111 Sonic Unleashed was originally supposed to be the third Adventure game titled "Sonic World Adventure", but of course they introduced THAT mechanic and decided not to butcher the good name of the adventure series. Just a short history lesson. They'll probably not do another title under the "Adventure" name. Although you could consider Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog sequels to this game since they continue Shadow's story.

Sonic and shadow's costumes look like the disc was scratched and it messed up some of the colors in the game.

He will get Sonic Wind only (no speed up and not Chaos control) and sonic wind is more powerfull (you can't move for a while when Sonic winds hits you) Shadows costume however makes him weaker. He can only use chaos control but it will last only 5 secs, which means it's gone immediately

action replay wont help with unlocking the costumes. it helps with stuff like unlimited rings and lives, always low time score, etc. but it doesn't help with costumes. those you have to do on your own
