I have problem tracing password. My password does not match. I use the statement

var correctPhase = "magic"//on key frame

if (phase == correctPhase)//on button

{trace("hello")}

else{trace("retry")

where am i wrong??

@MsBijaymishra You spelt "Phrase" wrong so maybe the textbox's variable is spelt correctly, and it's linking to an undefined variable?

@zanzlanz I checked text box's variable. it was phrase. I spelt wrong here not in my file.

it gives the same output "sorry". on (release) { if (phrase == correctPhrase) { trace("hello"); } else { trace("sorry"); }

}

The stuff here is the main things you can do in actionscript, and any other tutorials might just be little tricks or tips. I'll see what I can do! :D

@zanzlanz Well even just doing more advanced stuff and maybe a full walkthrough of you making a simple game.. anything like that. You explain the code and teach Flash well so any other videos will help people get better at using flash and also help me memorize the code and what it does.

But we are are learning a bit of Flash at school in the computer elective class i chose, but thats mostly copy and paste code (i wanna actually learn the code so i can make my own stuff). But its still the funnest topic we have done :D

I like illustrator better, so i'd get that. and i'll probably make the button lol. but i was trying to make something a lil while ago, so maybe this would help. would you know how to make apps by chance? ha, not that i could figure it out

Great tutorial! Btw flash actually seems a bit easier than java I might give it a big try! ;) hey I would really appreciate it if u would make a basic game tutorial of flash and I could see what I cone up with. PS: java is preety much the same as flash but flash is much easier to use :D

@TheBJSkater Thank you! I'd say it's easier mainly because it's not OOP (Object Oriented). I know Java is :)

I'm glad you like it - I really hope it comes easy for you, many people just don't quite get it!

I'm going to working on a series of tutorials working up to some sort of game. :)
