  • aint that air arcing?

  • like your helmet :P

  • No shit. I wasnt commenting to you.

  • He's not welding he's air arcing. Cutting steal its the opposite.

  • Maybe you should watch the whole video before making a comment. The gouging was just the prep work before the actual welding.

  • @bigjongpls Because Gouging is taking away a weld or uneeded steel...

  • @aarojack you're a welder and you can't spell "Steel"? Red flag.

  • Could I learn to be a welder if my hands shake a bit or should I look for something else? I checked to see if I could draw a straight line, and I can if I'm careful and "bear down" a little, but if I put as little weight as possible on it, I can't draw a straight line at all. Thanks.

  • Really depends on what type of welding you are interested in doing. Some such and TIG require a very steady hand. Also depends on what level of certification you are looking to obtain.

  • Thank you for the fast reply.

I really don't know much about welding, which is why I found this video, but if I decide to go that route I would get a two year degree at a community college, which would be the beginning. I'm not sure how to get information about it but I'll ask the CC.

From what you say, it sounds like I could do it, but not necessarily every kind of welding, which would be workable. And I maybe I actually could and I'm just overreacting because of to problems I had as a kid.

  • The web page on the degree, which says its a certificate, says this:

    "Occupational objectives:

    Arc, gas, mig,

and tig welder; welding supervisor; welding

inspector; or sales and service industry

    representative."

I don't want to do any kind of supervising or whatnot.

  • Its really one of thoose things that you wont know until you try it. I can tell you this, beinga good welder can open up many doors, including worldwide travle and great pay. And above that its something that i really love to do. It gives me a great satisfaction to know if its metal i can fix it or build it.

  • Check out my new welding video it shows some of the jobs i have worked on. Might give you better feel for the welding profession.

  • even if u got the most steadiest hand in the world doesnt mean ur gunna be gud welder alot more to it then that and no way in hell a wobbly hand shud stop u from being welder all comes with practice if thats what u wanna do do it dont be afraid coz uc ant draw a line...

  • @qk899 it depends by how much a little is ok i shake quite a bit but not to badley.if it is anything more than minor(like u can baley hold something stright.)thenno look for another job.Welding is all about accuricey and prosision.

  • good job i do the same job

  • What job is that, fix industrial washer or weld.

  • no not many 109

  • What exactly does that mean?
