I'll NEVER forget that game/play. I remember thinking to myself, 'Bird's gonna do something, he has always does'. Then the steal & the underrated great pass to DJ. . .Keep in mind from '85 on, Bird was playing with a career threatening back injury, he was never 100% healthy. Or even close to 100%. It was never really publicized until the end.
It would've been a good play for Isiah, except that Mahorn and Rodman go running the other way, celebrating, while Sichting, and Bird instantly start playing defense. And then the awesome veteran instincts from Bird and DJ who know exactly what the other is thinking. And of course, what's a big-time steal in Boston Garden, without Johnny Most screaming the call, just barely audible over the Boston crowd. Amazing.
You can see why Bird consistently says DJ was the best teammate he ever had--time and again, he could count on DJ to come through when Bird needed him.
At 0:02 , it looks like the entire Pistons team knows that Bird is going to the basket and they all converge in the lane. McHale is the only other Celtic who is visible and Danny Ainge looks like he's making his way to the corner. Bird probably had an opportunity to pass it to someone (Sichting or DJ) for an uncontested jumper.
Not to take anything away from the old greats, but doesn't it look like a lot of sports players before the 90's look like they have the physique of an average man walking down the street? It just looks like they wouldn't have the physical ability to compete with modern players.. Maybe I'm wrong, but it kind of looks that way.. I don't mean basketball, only
Isaiah! I hate this dude did u kno that he started a plan in a all-star game for people not to pass the ball to MJ because he got famous and glory for his basketball skills!!!
@CaptPrice274 he also said "If Larry was black, he would be just another good guy" and he stayed away from Magic when (His good friend) when he found out he was HIV positive. I hate this dude too! He was a great player, but a terrible person.
@KPAIN145 he said what he said because in the back of every black guy's mind white dudes cant ball thats what made larry bird so good and he trash talked while he was doing it
great steal....but in my opinion...the pass and the fact bird looked to see wher out of bounds was and kept on his tiptoes to stay inbounds is amazing
This was an awesome play. It was a nice "take *that*" to Isaiah Thomas who had recently said, "If Larry was black, he'd be just another good player." Well Isaiah... Larry wasn't black; but he was one of the all-time best ever to play the game. ...And he was a better player by far than you ever were.
@suaveG216 Larry rules Isiah sucks and you're jealous;]. By the way... I'm not about fighting over black/white in the NBA... Magic was the best point guard ever, Wilt Chamberlain was dominant, Kareem was excellent and Bill Russell was probably the best NBA player all time at any position. I just get irritated when I hear mention of I.T. because I always remember what he said. Larry was a great determined clutch player. Three titles in the 80's not bad; but the Lakers had five though. Too bad.
@elgriego331 yeah he does just not as much, dj was the only celtic with the presence of mind to run up. If your a true celtic fan read the book of basketball by bill simmons. its amazing.
Unbelievable. Not only stealing the ball. Not only staying in bounds. Not only passing it to a teammate. Not only making that contested layup. But doing ALL of it in the final 5 seconds of an NBA Finals game.
this kind of a play is why bird was the greatest basketball player of all time, not because he made some insane and-1 shot from 1/2 court with .3 seconds left, but because of his hustle and determination to win against all odds and ability to make it happen
When Bird was in HS, he could jump & touch the TOP of the backboard square, and could make several reverse and 360 jams. But, he injured his back prior to joining the IS Sycamores, and had to ALTER his game immensely into what is always best remembered of him. So, when he injured his back in 1991, it was an OLD injury. If Bird never had back problems, he could've played well into his late 30's, and go down as the BEST basketball player ever. He's still considered by many as the best ever.
Who the fuck told you he could jump and touch the top of the backboard square? Jump off his dick "white" boy and watch your mouth about the best players...Magic was better any way
As much as I hated the Pistons, I hated the Celtics even more and watching this just made me sick! That probably cost Detroit the championship that year. Oh well, I would have rooted for the Lakers anyway.
Look at DJ go RIGHT to the basket after he sees that Bird has the ball. He then A. Makes a tough shot and B. Turns around and guards the baseline rather than jump up and down and celebrate like the Pistons were just doing. Bird is my favorite player and the steal was amazing, but I just wanted to give Dennis his due. RIP DJ, you are sorely missed.
Great players do not defend, they anticipate. Same principle applies in life, being defensive AND offensive is for those lacking perspicacity and thus anticipation. Going to a different although related case, MOST people in management or the ones aspiring to such positions lack mentioned overall faculty; thus their defensive AND offensive disposition; yes, they may act professionally, but NOT humanistically. Those belonging to the latter DO NOT defend or offend, those belonging to the former DO.
This shit about it being fixed. You have to be so narrow minded to even begin to believe that a game as brilliant as basketball would ever become fixed. That the players would move from college basketball into a world where they get told when to win and lose. It's just not possible to control basketball like that. Perhaps you're just trolling the tubes but you are an idiot either way.
Bird is described as a very typical example of the belief "White men can't jump". However, Bird seems to defy that long-held belief. It should be noted that Bird can only play well at him home court. On the road, he sucks as hell.
@Mr4Balla5 Listen moron, Bird and his Celtics were only able to survive from their base in Boston where fans always pumped in the uncessary engergy to fuel them to play well. On the road, Bird and Celtics got slaughtered time and time again as always. Here is a proof: On the road ranking - 0, homecourt ranking - 1st place.
Shit like when Owen Hart broke Steve Austins neck inadvertently. He had to lose that match, so when Austin finally could muster the strength, he rolled him into the weakest pin humanly possible, a 3 year old could break out of it. The ability to fix a real sports game while still making it dramatic is way to hard, and you don't have any way to fix it if you fuck it up in a crucial spot.
I'm done arguing with you because frankly your logic makes no sense, you have no facts to back anything up.
Isiah Thomas threw that ball to Bird on purpose - you can see it; every single time I watch this, I cannot help but to think that Isiah did this on purpose. All he had to do was throw the ball near the Pistons scoring-end and they would have won. Why didn't he? He did it on purpose. So obvious it's disgusting.
@3DStoneCt It was either after this game, or game 7 of this series, that Isiah (I'm a great player, but couldn't hold Larry Bird's jock) Thomas made his ignorant "if Bird was black, he'd be just another good guy" comment. He hated Bird. Why would he throw the ball to him here? Do you think he was bribed just before the inbounds pass?
@3DStoneCt What the fuck are you babbling about? Why would Isaiah throw it to Bird on purpose? Why? That doesn't make any sense? I guess Isaiah really didn't care about going to the NBA Finals, right? The NBA was just a hobby that he could care less about? Or, maybe he was bribed in that millisecond before he through it and the camera's didn't catch the exchange? You are high.
@Flipper79able I'm a Pistons fan and I've studied sports a long time. All of these players (especially the stars) are paid off to fix these games to make sure certain teams win and others lose; everybody is in on it - players, refs, media; pro sports is a business and the sole objective is to make money; the only fool is the paying customer and that's the fan. Just be objective. All Thomas has to do was throw the ball near his offensive end and they would have won or call timeout. Think!
@3DStoneCt You are fucking delusional. That would mean both Bird and Thomas would lie and not have any respect for the game. You also say everyone is in on it? That would mean every single pro basketball player would have to keep this huge secret, including coaches and team owners away from the media. If the media even got a whiff of that they would tell the world. I am sorry but you are out of your fucking mind. I won't talk to a person who should be locked up in a mental institution anymore.
@Flipper79able Okay, I have to be patient with your ignorance. All NBA players are professionals because they are good at fixing games - all of them; why do u think they get paid so much? It's a freakin' payoff! Coaches, owners, media are all in on it. Remember, the owners run this, they are multi-billionaires and nobody in this job gets less than 6 figures. Just ask yourself, if you and other billionairs are starting a business, your objective isn't to win a game, it's to make money.
@Flipper79able Don't believe me, look with an open mind. When you are in business as a billionaire with 20 other billionaires, your sole purpose in business is to make money, not to win a game. You have a product called the game and you hire someone to run it "commissioner" and pay him and then you get guys who are athletes to perform and you have a paying cutomer (fans). The product are players, which is why they are drafted, and the game. The owners get gold, players get a damn ring. HAHA!
@3DStoneCt No, you are ignorant. You make more money by winning. Why would some teams throw games, and in turn make less money? Why would the perennial losers in the Clippers, or the Grizzlys continue to lose, and in turn make less money off ticket revenue, merchandising, etc. Additionally what about Buzzer beaters? What about those gamer winners last second from across the court? Are those scripted? What if you miss? What if Magic bricks on his "Running Sky Hook"? There are too many factors.
Game*. This isn't Professional Wrestling (who by the way, admits that they are scripted). There isn't a way to script a basketball game reliably and have it look real. Unlike a Wrestling match where the only thing that matters is the Pin, any mistake in a Basketball game (of which there are many I assure you) can make the final outcome different. So if the final outcome was supposed to be fixed, how could you account for these things? Every game would have to be a blowout to ensure the victory.
@Ffancrzy Remember it's not like every game is fixed a certain way. When I say the NBA, NFL, and MLB is fixed, I'm referring to a purposeful result because this is business and when multi-billionaires come together in a business venture, their goal is not to get a damn ring or a gold trophy...it's to make money. Players are the pawns and they are there to perform the prescribed result - that's all. Now that's just business, just like the circus, a sit-com/movie, a play - it's all scripted.
@Ffancrzy Let's break this down: Los Angeles is a big market. Memphis is the only pro team in Memphis, so they get the huge market there. You have to understand that we do not understand HOW these games are fixed; it may not be fixed based upon wins and losses but point spreads or any other scenario that we are not aware of. You are assuming that games are fixed by who wins...it may not be.
@3DStoneCt You're one huge mental case..you may be conspiracy theorist, and that is a serious illness..many of you guys take that so deep that end doing something like mass-suicide.
@spaw69 This isn't deep: Sports is business just like McDonald's, Wal-Mart, Pepsi, and so forth. The NBA, MLB, and NFL is no different - they sell games instead of food. All the refs, TV networks, coaches, and players are in on it because they are all united and in business together. ESPN, TNT, and ABC is in business with the NBA - just like if two entrepreneurs were to merge and make more money - you gonna tell me they don't have a business plan to make more loot? You crazy.
@3DStoneCt. What is there to fix if not the outcome? Considering that is all that matters as far as success goes in professional sports.
You are a nutcase. You didn't even refute my claim about how impossible it would be to fix a game. How could you fix ANY aspect of the game, there are too many other factors.
@Ffancrzy Look at every great comeback, every dynasty, and every great choke in sports. You have a grave mistake allowing a comeback/choke and you have coastal market teams winning multiple titles. It's just business. Look at this: What do guys get if they win? A ring. Well, they can buy a ring - they are rich. A trophy? Nope, the owner gets that. What do they get? Fame? They are already famous. A parade? What are they 5 years old? What do they get? See, the prize is money this is business!
You say that "a purposeful result" is what is fixed, aka, who wins. Yet you fail to acknowledge the difficulty of actually fixing the end result of a game unless it is a decisive win. The most obvious counter point is a buzzer beater in basketball. Ok, yes this is a great way to end a game, especially a championship, so why wouldn't they try to set up that as a fixed result. Maybe because it is just as likely that they miss the shot as hit it.
@3DStoneCt Someone has to win a title in sports every season, they give out a trophy every year so it doesn't matter who wins, what matters is if the season and achieved result occur based upon how they've planned it to go. I'll give you some examples of fixed NBA situations so you can see.
@3DStoneCt Compare this to something that is fixed, professional wrestling. Everything you are describing DOES happen in wrestling, hell it is even called "sports entertainment" for that very reason, its fixed. Wrestling is easy to fix, because the only thing that matters is the end result, and its really hard to fuck it up. They can put all sorts of "spots" in to make it dramatic because both guys are working together to get the result. Its a lot easier to ensure a counter and pin works in ...
@Ffancrzy The NBA, NFL, and MLB is sports entertainment just like Pro Wrestling. Athetes in sports will tell you this is entertainment. You are right, the only thing that matters is the end result - to make it how they wanted it to go. When you fix games and scenarios you do so by losing, not winning. Your opponent is your partner. Why you think these guys hug after games? You get your butt kicked but you hug me afterwards? That's a dead give-away. The guys now are bad actors; not like the 80's.
@Ffancrzy 1989 Game 5, Bulls/Cavs. Jordan hits the shot but the Cavs were the better team that year. Prior to Jordan hitting the shot, what happened? Craig Eloh hit what would've been the game-winner on a give-and-go play. The fix was that Jordan would take the last shot to win or lose the game. If he hits it, then the most marketable player wins the game. If he misses it then the Cavs (better team) wins and moves on. Either way the NBA wins.
@3DStoneCt Jordan hits the shot to beat Utah in 1998 game 6. Why didn't Utah double team him to get the ball out of his hands to make someone else beat them? If Jordan missed the shot, then guess what? You have game 7 which benefits the NBA. Same with 1997 when Kerr hit the shot. Stockton left Kerr wide open at the freethrow line. Kerr is one of the best shooters in the NBA. If he misses, then you go to game 7. So the league wins. Same situation in 1993 Phoenix vs. Chicago - Pax wide open.
@Ffancrzy You haven't been paying attention to anything I've said. I told you that sports is fixed but we do not know HOW it's fixed unless you are actually involved in that business. It's the same way you know someone is lying to you and they say, "prove it." If you think for yourself and look at the facts and logic you'll see the truth. You have yet to prove how billionaires coming together in a business venture is not fixed or contrived? It's all planned with a purpose. Common sense, no paper
@Ffancrzy Plus, you have yet to see how the rewards for these players winning actually matter - it doesn't. They get a ring, fame, and a parade if they win. They are already famous by being a pro and they are already rich so they can buy a ring. So what's the reward? All you have to do is add. The billionaire owners come together to make more money, the reward for the players is what? A ring? Please! The reward is more money.lol
@Ffancrzy Everyone is paid off, it's just like a job ... it's business. People want to do business and make money they have to "play ball" and do what's required. Nobody cares, everyone is paid off. Nobody in this business makes less than six figures, you think they are going to talk about how all this is a circus? Please. This is good money and nobody wants to jack it up. Why you think these players talk like robots and watch what they say? They are all paid off. That's business.
@3DStoneCt You say "You have yet to prove how billionaires coming together in a business venture is not fixed or contrived?" Which is a logical fallacy and why I can't take you seriously. argumentum ad ignorantiam. The burden of proof is not on me, since you are making this claim, you have to provide actual evidence. Nothing you have said so far is true, its simply you saying that it "would make sense" for them to fix everything. Saying "you can't prove they don't" isn't evidence, but a fallacy.
@Ffancrzy It's business you idiot. Nobody goes into business without a plan or an objective. Their objective is to make money off of a product - the game. But you need to hire someone to run it, thus the commissioner. You need products to sell this game - players. So get the best and most entertaining players to be good products to make us money. Get more investors and make TV deals and sell more products using sponsors. It's all business you fool. It's no different than any corporation.
@3DStoneCt There is nothing in that statement that means that the games are fixed. Everything you just said about business can apply even if the teams are legitimately playing the sport without fixing any portion of it. Judging from the WWE, yes, they will straight up come out and tell you its fixed, because when it is fixed, its obvious. The WWE doesn't hide the fact that its fixed and has much more acting involved. Compare this to amateur wrestling which is much more technical.
@Ffancrzy Name another job in America where a guy can come out of high school and make 6 or 7 figures providing for himself and his family? What other occupation is out there like this? You are the type of person that wants a guy to admit he's sleeping with other women when he's married; like he's going to put it on tape or write it in a journal to get proof. Either you are extremely nieve or you enjoy giving people your money wanting to believe that what you see is real? It's your cash.
@3DStoneCt ...I'll begin with Steve Kerr's game winning shot. You claim in one comment that it is suspicious that Jordan was only guarded by one man. Why not two? Then when he IS guarded by two guys, and dishes to the open guy, you say it is suspicious that the left Kerr open. Watch the video "steve kerr nba finals 1997 game 6's final shot"..you can see, and hear Jordan and kerr talking before the play. Kerr expects Jordan to get double teamed, because it worked before and he lost the ball.
@3DStoneCt ...I've just finished reading some of your debate with Ffancrzy. You are one of the top vote getters for YouTub´s Most Ridiculous Statement Award. You state that pro sports are fixed. Your evidence is that the owners are rich, the players get paid a lot, and sometimes players make mistakes that to YOU are proof that they want the other team to win..or at least not lose by too many points.
@3DStoneCt If the NBA is fixed and all about money, why didn't they make a dynasty multiple championship team in a city like Las Vegas? And why don't they fix the season so that more college heros play pro ball with their city? That would make a huge amount of money. They wouldn't have taken LeBron out of a big sports city li
Or even close to 100%. this kind of a play is why bird was the greatest basketball player of all time, not because he made some insane and-1 shot from 1/2 court with .3 seconds left, but because of his hustle and determination to win against all odds and ability to make it happen

3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt It was either after this game, or game 7 of this series, that Isiah (I'm a great player, but couldn't hold Larry Bird's jock) Thomas made his ignorant "if Bird was black, he'd be just another good guy" comment. He hated Bird. Why would he throw the ball to him here? Do you think he was bribed just before the inbounds pass?
newstart18 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt What the fuck are you babbling about? Why would Isaiah throw it to Bird on purpose? Why? That doesn't make any sense? I guess Isaiah really didn't care about going to the NBA Finals, right? The NBA was just a hobby that he could care less about? Or, maybe he was bribed in that millisecond before he through it and the camera's didn't catch the exchange? You are high.
Flipper79able 1 year ago
@Flipper79able I'm a Pistons fan and I've studied sports a long time. All of these players (especially the stars) are paid off to fix these games to make sure certain teams win and others lose; everybody is in on it - players, refs, media; pro sports is a business and the sole objective is to make money; the only fool is the paying customer and that's the fan. Just be objective. All Thomas has to do was throw the ball near his offensive end and they would have won or call timeout. Think!
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt You are fucking delusional. That would mean both Bird and Thomas would lie and not have any respect for the game. You also say everyone is in on it? That would mean every single pro basketball player would have to keep this huge secret, including coaches and team owners away from the media. If the media even got a whiff of that they would tell the world. I am sorry but you are out of your fucking mind. I won't talk to a person who should be locked up in a mental institution anymore.
Flipper79able 1 year ago
@Flipper79able Okay, I have to be patient with your ignorance. All NBA players are professionals because they are good at fixing games - all of them; why do u think they get paid so much? It's a freakin' payoff! Coaches, owners, media are all in on it. Remember, the owners run this, they are multi-billionaires and nobody in this job gets less than 6 figures. Just ask yourself, if you and other billionairs are starting a business, your objective isn't to win a game, it's to make money.
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt Like I said before......I'm done talking to you. Your fucking crazy.
Flipper79able 1 year ago
@Flipper79able Don't believe me, look with an open mind. When you are in business as a billionaire with 20 other billionaires, your sole purpose in business is to make money, not to win a game. You have a product called the game and you hire someone to run it "commissioner" and pay him and then you get guys who are athletes to perform and you have a paying cutomer (fans). The product are players, which is why they are drafted, and the game. The owners get gold, players get a damn ring. HAHA!
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt No, you are ignorant. You make more money by winning. Why would some teams throw games, and in turn make less money? Why would the perennial losers in the Clippers, or the Grizzlys continue to lose, and in turn make less money off ticket revenue, merchandising, etc. Additionally what about Buzzer beaters? What about those gamer winners last second from across the court? Are those scripted? What if you miss? What if Magic bricks on his "Running Sky Hook"? There are too many factors.
Ffancrzy 1 year ago
Ffancrzy 1 year ago
@Ffancrzy Remember it's not like every game is fixed a certain way. When I say the NBA, NFL, and MLB is fixed, I'm referring to a purposeful result because this is business and when multi-billionaires come together in a business venture, their goal is not to get a damn ring or a gold trophy...it's to make money. Players are the pawns and they are there to perform the prescribed result - that's all. Now that's just business, just like the circus, a sit-com/movie, a play - it's all scripted.
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@Ffancrzy Let's break this down: Los Angeles is a big market. Memphis is the only pro team in Memphis, so they get the huge market there. You have to understand that we do not understand HOW these games are fixed; it may not be fixed based upon wins and losses but point spreads or any other scenario that we are not aware of. You are assuming that games are fixed by who wins...it may not be.
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt You're one huge mental case..you may be conspiracy theorist, and that is a serious illness..many of you guys take that so deep that end doing something like mass-suicide.
Treat yourself, that's my advice.
spaw69 1 year ago
@spaw69 This isn't deep: Sports is business just like McDonald's, Wal-Mart, Pepsi, and so forth. The NBA, MLB, and NFL is no different - they sell games instead of food. All the refs, TV networks, coaches, and players are in on it because they are all united and in business together. ESPN, TNT, and ABC is in business with the NBA - just like if two entrepreneurs were to merge and make more money - you gonna tell me they don't have a business plan to make more loot? You crazy.
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt. What is there to fix if not the outcome? Considering that is all that matters as far as success goes in professional sports.
You are a nutcase. You didn't even refute my claim about how impossible it would be to fix a game. How could you fix ANY aspect of the game, there are too many other factors.
Ffancrzy 1 year ago
@Ffancrzy Look at every great comeback, every dynasty, and every great choke in sports. You have a grave mistake allowing a comeback/choke and you have coastal market teams winning multiple titles. It's just business. Look at this: What do guys get if they win? A ring. Well, they can buy a ring - they are rich. A trophy? Nope, the owner gets that. What do they get? Fame? They are already famous. A parade? What are they 5 years old? What do they get? See, the prize is money this is business!
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt Your Logic has way way too many holes.

3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt Someone has to win a title in sports every season, they give out a trophy every year so it doesn't matter who wins, what matters is if the season and achieved result occur based upon how they've planned it to go. I'll give you some examples of fixed NBA situations so you can see.
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt Compare this to something that is fixed, professional wrestling. Everything you are describing DOES happen in wrestling, hell it is even called "sports entertainment" for that very reason, its fixed. Wrestling is easy to fix, because the only thing that matters is the end result, and its really hard to fuck it up. They can put all sorts of "spots" in to make it dramatic because both guys are working together to get the result. Its a lot easier to ensure a counter and pin works in ...
Ffancrzy 1 year ago

3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt Jordan hits the shot to beat Utah in 1998 game 6. Why didn't Utah double team him to get the ball out of his hands to make someone else beat them? If Jordan missed the shot, then guess what? You have game 7 which benefits the NBA. Same with 1997 when Kerr hit the shot. Stockton left Kerr wide open at the freethrow line. Kerr is one of the best shooters in the NBA. If he misses, then you go to game 7. So the league wins. Same situation in 1993 Phoenix vs. Chicago - Pax wide open.
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt Ok, now prove that it was fixed that way. You have none which is why I'm not entertaining your nonsense
Ffancrzy 1 year ago
@Ffancrzy You haven't been paying attention to anything I've said. I told you that sports is fixed but we do not know HOW it's fixed unless you are actually involved in that business. It's the same way you know someone is lying to you and they say, "prove it." If you think for yourself and look at the facts and logic you'll see the truth. You have yet to prove how billionaires coming together in a business venture is not fixed or contrived? It's all planned with a purpose. Common sense, no paper
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@Ffancrzy Plus, you have yet to see how the rewards for these players winning actually matter - it doesn't. They get a ring, fame, and a parade if they win. They are already famous by being a pro and they are already rich so they can buy a ring. So what's the reward? All you have to do is add. The billionaire owners come together to make more money, the reward for the players is what? A ring? Please! The reward is more money.lol
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@Ffancrzy Everyone is paid off, it's just like a job ... it's business. People want to do business and make money they have to "play ball" and do what's required. Nobody cares, everyone is paid off. Nobody in this business makes less than six figures, you think they are going to talk about how all this is a circus? Please. This is good money and nobody wants to jack it up. Why you think these players talk like robots and watch what they say? They are all paid off. That's business.
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt You say "You have yet to prove how billionaires coming together in a business venture is not fixed or contrived?" Which is a logical fallacy and why I can't take you seriously. argumentum ad ignorantiam. The burden of proof is not on me, since you are making this claim, you have to provide actual evidence. Nothing you have said so far is true, its simply you saying that it "would make sense" for them to fix everything. Saying "you can't prove they don't" isn't evidence, but a fallacy.
Ffancrzy 1 year ago
@Ffancrzy It's business you idiot. Nobody goes into business without a plan or an objective. Their objective is to make money off of a product - the game. But you need to hire someone to run it, thus the commissioner. You need products to sell this game - players. So get the best and most entertaining players to be good products to make us money. Get more investors and make TV deals and sell more products using sponsors. It's all business you fool. It's no different than any corporation.
3DStoneCt 1 year ago
@3DStoneCt There is nothing in that statement that means that the games are fixed. Everything you just said about business can apply even if the teams are legitimately playing the sport without fixing any portion of it. Judging from the WWE, yes, they will straight up come out and tell you its fixed, because when it is fixed, its obvious. The WWE doesn't hide the fact that its fixed and has much more acting involved. Compare this to amateur wrestling which is much more technical.
Ffancrzy 1 year ago
@Ffancrzy Name another job in America where a guy can come out of high school and make 6 or 7 figures providing for himself and his family? What other occupation is out there like this? You are the type of person that wants a guy to admit he's sleeping with other women when he's married; like he's going to put it on tape or write it in a journal to get proof. Either you are extremely nieve or you enjoy giving people your money wanting to believe that what you see is real? It's your cash.
3DStoneCt 1 year ago

Your evidence is that the owners are rich, the players get paid a lot, and sometimes players make mistakes that to YOU are proof that they want the other team to win..or at least not lose by too many points.
mapache11 9 months ago
@3DStoneCt If the NBA is fixed and all about money, why didn't they make a dynasty multiple championship team in a city like Las Vegas? And why don't they fix the season so that more college heros play pro ball with their city? That would make a huge amount of money. They wouldn't have taken LeBron out of a big sports city li
