  • This gave me chills. I'm going to Madrid and I can't wait! God bless all who are traveling there and see you in Spain!

  • i wanna go to the WYD!!!!!

  • To put trust in our youth..... but sadly a lot of our youth (not all) but most are not putting trust in Christ, we need them to defend the Church and most youth I meet especially Catholic are the ones that mock the Church.

  • if you to Madrid , take a good supply of comdoms!!!....desperate pussies are awaiting you, just like in Sydney!!!!

  • wooow. man i wish i could have gone. my youth group got to go but i was 1/2 a year to young to meet qualifications to go. i want to go to the next world youth day though. im old enough now. lol.

  • at fishtings thats im trying to explain the holy bible should not be changed and the name of the true church is named afer its found our lord jesus christ so the true church is called the church of Christ

  • Great music selection on this video. Who is it sung by?

  • I like the background music from this video. Can someone tell me who it is? Thank you.

  • good use of the Civilization IV music.

  • this is a beautiful video...i was there and it was a really great experience

  • Good Times... :)

  • the true church is named after the builder which our lord jesus christ and no one has the right to changed its written biblically correct the Church of Christ. There are so many teachings that should give proper attention and studies but as for as the name of the true church it should be the churhc of Christ not the invented Catolica which was named by Ignatious of Antiochia

  • @fishfinga4, this is only shows that the true church built by Christ really apostatized this is the truth that the true church uphold and this is propecied by our lord jesus christ himself and even with his apostles

  • this video is beautiful. i really love the music.

  • und wieviel soziale initiativen und aktionen sind aus der weltjugendtagsbewegung entstanden... typisch anti-katolisches geschwätz...

  • does anyone know anything about the music thats playing? id quite like to get it

  • sorry its not the catholic church Jesus Christ built but the Church of Christ romans 16:16 the term catholic is invented only by Ignatius one of the earliest catholic fathers

  • Ignatius used the word "Catolica" because it meant universal, which is what the Church you speak of was until Protestant Reformation. "Catolica" was mearly a word used to DESCRIBE the Church and became the title of the Church Christ founded when Martin Luther broke away. anyhu, wether ur Catholic or not, we still brothers/sisters in Christ and I don't wann create friction. God Bless

  • What do you think when you see george pell standing next to the pope? Knowing he is at least guilty of protecting pedopliles and allowing them to continue to abuse kids with impunity?

  • What do you think when you see Judas Iscariot seated on the table & eat with Jesus on his last supper?

Jesus also allow Judas to betrayed him!

  • Wrong. Pell mightn't be the warmest character but he has defrocked & referred more of these monsters to the police that anyone before.

  • Care to cite your sources?

  • Radio 2BL 2002 panel, including great candour from Pell himself - something you personally probably wouldn't attribute to him. He also appointed an independent commissioner - Callaghan QC - in the late 90s to investigate claims. In one year he referred 65 cases for compensation & to the police. Pell set up this. Added to which are the defrockings and referral to the DPP which has grown, & his alliance with Franca Arena. See also Australian 19/7/08 ref to Lateline's typical ABC errors & bias.

  • Well sources were cited. What now ?

  • Oh you mean OCallaghan of the Melbourne Response... The same one who appears to have been tipping off paedophile priests like Healesvilles Paul Pavlou that they were under police investigation, giving them time to destroy evidence? Are you actually trying to claim that cash for silence deal is something positive? Oh and the 65 cases you refer too? Well there was over 450 cases over 13 years that were successfully bullied into accepting money to guilt them into silence.

  • Now as for your The Australian 19/7/2008, let me begin with the basics. When you cite something you provide the following, name of publication, date of publication, name of author and title of article. One out of four gets you a failing grade. Now the article I assume you were referring to due to your inability to cite is the one by Christopher Pearson published in his opinion piece. Need I tell you the difference between a news story and an opinion piece?

  • Are you at that much of a loss that you need to grasp the drivel written as part of an opinion piece in a vain attempt to defend the indefensible? Now in closing why dont you look at the following article in The Australian, ''I was forced into sexual acts: victim Anthony Jones, 10th July, 2008 by Ean Higgens

  • What now? Well it looks like you crawled back into whatever festering hole it is you call a home to lick your wounds after being shown up as the ignorant fool you are,

  • For someone who you claim is so "shallow" and "pathetic" does it bother you that I was so easily able to show you up as the dumb fuck you really are?

  • sorry mymerkin but you didn't. saying it doesn't make it true.

byebye you silly little overinflated turd.

  • 1) You got your reply

    2) You have nothing in response

    3) Crying about deleted posts is for pussies, even if you had posted things I deleted the first question is why did you not post them here where everyone could read them.... Oh thats right you didn't post anything

    4) Your nothing but a sad protector of priests who like to fuck kids.... Accept it then stop allowing kids to be raped by the church, just because you like it does not make it right!!!

  • Oh you deleted your account...... So much for your god, guess he doesn't like paedophile priests either.

  • LOL,it is an honor to be Catholic because Jesus Christ built the Catholic Church on Peter(Mt16,18)Why are you reading the Bible today?Because of the Holy Catholic Church. The Church in the Bible is the Holy Catholic Church. One Church,One God,One Savior.Jesus says to Peter"I give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven;whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."Mt16.We find the same in Isaiah22,21when God gives authority.

  • its an honor to be a Catholic. dont get the chance to go for this WYD but I pray that I can go to the next WYD, which is in Madrid.hehe

anyhow, It's okay that some of you didnt get the chance to see our dear Pope. we will still have the chance to see Him in the next WYD as well as in heaven with our DaddyGod. yeay =))

    Gbu!

  • Great video! Does anyone know the name of that song??? I love it!

  • haha i went to WYD 2008 im from Australia and i loved it it was the best experience i think it is fantastic !!!

  • World Youth Day is a good idea. However i hate how liberal it could get. So much nationalism people singing about their country more than Christ at times. Couldn't see the Pope passing by because people wouldn't put their flags down (I would have loved to say that with so much more passion). So irritating it wasn't funny. But its good for the host nation and lets keep it going.

  • I was one of those people waving a flag around. I think it is a way to show the the church is univeral. I dont think anyone meant for it to be messianism.

  • Ok so im in the crowd. Im behind 7 or 8 rows of people - roughly 20 meters away. I have never seen the Pope before. And he begins to approach i get the video camera ready. He gets closer and everyone goes mad and hoist their flags. My view is blocked and the Pope is gone. So instead of seeing God's emissary on earth, i saw some material with an a nice colour on it.

  • I am very sorry that happened. I did not get to see him either, but i was just happy to know that i was in the presence of His Holliness.

    May God Bless You

  • It is good to see such love for the Holy Father.

  • The Church has been losing her identity for the last 40 years and this is the result.

  • I had a flag -- it actually looked great and if you really wanted to see the Pope that badly, maybe you should have tried harder to get a view. My friend and I ran alongside the Holy Father's popemobile at Randwick from one end to the other and it paid off because I got to see him very close up. People did travel half way around the world, is it a crime for them to be proud of their country as well as God? It just shows how the Church is able to unite so many different people as one big family.

  • Are you saying nationalism was not evident as World Youth Day?

  • i cant believe i was there just amazing experience i am with out words

  • I protested against "World Youth Day". If you want to know why then watch my new video.

  • JLProud, nice vid. the government shouldn't have financed a religious event, but lets face it, they are financing everything to do with religion under the banner of 'cultural diversity'. I thought unity would be a better thing to value, but i guess i was wrong <_<. Don't we live in a secular country, and our constitution modelled on the american which seperates church and state?

  • Were you one of the protesters on the bridge? we passed some, one lady was dressed as the pope -- highly offensive.

  • omg i was there when one of the pilgrams tried to punch one of the protestors because one of them was holding up a sign saying no such thing as God and chucking condoms at us because the Pope don't believe in using contraception (condoms)

  • THE BEST FING I EVER DID IN MY LIFE

  • that was an awesome performance from the Aborganes

  • this was the GREATEST! I am so going to go to Madrid. Christians everywhere!

  • WYD is a good event for Young Catholics to know about their faith deeply... as for my experince during the WYD ( i came from far away from Malaysia to Syd 2 know my faith more deeply...) It's was awesome that i'd met a lots people who's same faith with me... i felt really touched by the grace of our God as the moment all pilgrims arounds the worlds waiting for Pope arrived at Barangaroo... i saw everyone's happy to met our Pope... even though all of us had to walked by feet in long journey...

  • thats an amazing story!!! it's so awesome to know that young people all over the world share similar beliefs in God. can't wait until Madrid!

  • i wonder what is their main intention to go to that last event to have fun or for the sake of God? and I also wonder why condom sales went up in sydney during wyd. can anyone tell me?

  • ahh don't be so negative haha - the atmosphere was just so awesome for those who really did go for the sake of celebrating their faith... everyone was just so nice loved it!

  • by the way i forgot to ask - is there a reason to why u are so negative? i havn't been reading the other comments i just saw urs... no event is 100% perfect and the idea of the pope getting hit by a rocket 0.0 wow at least respect the religion 0.0 gosh and i'm sure those people are worrying for the peopel dying in other countries too - i mean i don't think they are heartless. and was jesus really not afraid of death? i know the story goes that he died but i'm not sure about him not being afraid.

  • LOL That's a fun fact...

I just came back from it all and it was like a religious olympics - you chose what you wanted to go to and spoke like 3 recurring sentences to everyone there.

It's a real experience though because you learn alot about your own spirituality, just because you see so many people practising theirs. Even if you are not religious.

  • From the amount of condoms I saw protestors aimlessly throwing at innocent pilgrims I'd be guessing sales went up to increase the protestors supplies!

  • IM SOO ASHAMED I COULDNT MAKE IT!!! i was gonna cry... my sis and her 50 group friends bought the last tickets!:(

hope you all enjoyed it... booking WYD 2011 from now lol

  • I was lucky enough to go coz it was in my own city but unfortunatley i was unable to make it to the evening vigil which was a shame coz it looked really fun apart from the freezing cold. The spirit of meeting everyone frm different countries was really great though.

  • wyd08 finished today

i went to randwick to sleep ova night.

    i luv wyd

in 3yeares im going to spain for the next WYD

  • If you don't like the Pope in Sydney then go and lock yourself in the toilet and have a hard shit AND Smear it all over your face... it's NOT like the Pope wants to look at your fugly face... and if people want to come here they can come... you dont own Sydney.. it's not like they are in your living room.... you guys are such loosers... dont freakin go on any WYD LINKS and say shit... coz it makes you look like a FUGLY FREAK....

  • The Catholic Church's teachings are dead right. The West is dying by not producing enough babies thanks to contraception and abortion and a few other no brainers of Progressive secularism. Long live Christ's Church and long life to whatever civilisation should follow it's teachings.

  • I can't wait for this to be over so I can watch more important news instead of this being continually shoved down my throat.

  • Peace to all believers and not

  • Praise God!!!!!

  • No thanks, waste of time. And personally i'd rather slide down a banister of razors. - Just my opinion.

  • It's good to hear music from the various cultures that will be attending WYD 2008! Love it!

  • wooh im going to wyd in sydney! :)

cant wait! its only 4 sleeps away

  • beautiful music love the 'baba yetu', fits the occasion just right... well done, GOd bless...

  • My dear friends I will pray for all you to have an extraordinary experience that this trip make you grow in faith and love to your neighbors.

Australia get ready to receive Laredo, Texas USA

Laredo people are quite nice and friendly and you probably find them dancing Salsa in a nice bar.

    Have a great time guys

  • What a crock of shit, people from other countries spend all the money they have to come to this crock-fest. If the pope came to my door i'd close it in his face.

  • well, those trips give us an opportunity to go and visit other countries and the see other cultures. if you want to be closed minded is your problem

  • I'm not being closed minded, I live in Sydney and see the complete chaos in it all. I just don't see why people would come all this way for the pope.

  • well, I think if the present of the pope in any country provoke any conflict I am pretty sure that the president of such country will refuse to welcome the pope and all his pilgrims.

Have you been in any WYD? if not I encourage you to go and take look of what is going on right now...

  • I agree sydney is the worng place for WYD 2008 they should of chose jerusalem or atleast a holy city, but sydney? I live in sydney i pay my taxes that goes towards building sydney not sydney roads being closed it makes us so hard to go to work in the city, complete chaos, i dont want they pope here, why cant we all vote if we want the pope here or not, where the democracy

  • learn how to spell first!!

  • sorry man excuse my typos theyre annoying it makes people think you cant spell lol

  • I think they should choose Jerusalem but that probably wont happen because of political problems and war. Ever heard of Gaza rocket hitting Israel? I'm sure leader don't want some kind of Rocket or terrorism to hit a bunch of peoples.

  • who cares if they die like that, they can call themselves martyres and go to heaven, isnt that what they want?

  • I'm not sure why peoples want to die where there is news and reports saying citizens is mad and crying that peoples are dieing. Happy if a rocket actually hit the pope? I'm sure alot of people aren't so happy even if about 50,000 peoples got killed just because they going to heaven because they got hit by rockets instead of surviving, which they can join world day youth in 2011, or prevent greed, or see the future. Go ask them if they want to die being hit by a rocket or some other ways.

  • how do you know if they going to get hit by a rocket? youre not God you cant tell the future. Just because theyre young doesnt mean theyre going to live untill theyre old death doesnt wait for age, when your times up its destined and its your fate.

  • Well no but do you think the leader/presidents going to accept the it? Mmmm tired of this discussion. Alright, what you said is right what I said is wrong or impossible ~ End of discussion. Even though I discuss about these things I always like to hear explanation from peoples because I dont understand them, and I didnt visit the wyd, didn't know much about the pope, or I am not a Christian or favorable to religions). Anyway end of discussion another message about wyd is going to be deleted asap

  • and if you still say they go to heaven or can die then I stop replying, at least I stop replying and listen to you on what to say. I do not want these kind of discussion to keep going on.

  • i'll ask them this question and get back to your answer, which do you fear more death? or get hit by a rocket? or you fear God? I know people who fear God that they dont fear death. They tell their enemies this "face men who love death more then you love life" Jesus did not fear death so follow his way. Love Jesus is alive and wait for his return. I couldnt care less if the Pope get hit by a rocket, look at innocent children getting hit by rockets in israel palestine iraq afghanistan...

  • ahahahah. so true. now they have to get their smelly unwashed arses back to slumland, well at least the ones who haven't evaded the authorities

  • This is not Spam. Whoever rejected this comment just doesn't want to believe this is true so you shut yourself away from it - wake up, we are not in some sort of utopian world - Everything in this world has a level of corruption and religion certainly isn't immune to it.

  • jornada mundial de la juventud 2008-sydney... nos vemos alli.... Que Dios les bendiga...

  • what is the name of this song, can someone please tell me? this is a great song.

  • its a variation of the lords prayer (the Our Father) in Swahili, sung by a an American university group (i think) called Stanford Talisman. The song is called Baba Yetu.

  • ill be there

  • ill be there!

  • YAY WYD!
