well in the arcade, if u wanna choose akuma, he is so called 'out' of the character selection screen. E.g Akuma is below Abel, above Ryu, below El Feurte etc etc. hope u got my drift.

Well if you saw the previous matches. Ultra David pretty much wiped out all close range players.

no, they're afraid of zangief in general. 'rog and rufus have a ton of offensive options, sure, but all of them put them close to their opponent, and that's the last place you wanna be with zangief. just look at what happens when they tried to sneak in with pokes--they got SPD'd most of the time.
