@korvix But the problem with that is, is your "return on investment" actually valuable? This type of training is practical for the work humans should be doing everyday.
@korvix if you research it, the founder of MovNat doesn't say its the only way. MovNat is about natural movement skills. i love powerlifting and used to do the same ratio as you but ask yourself why you have to pick one over the other. specialization is one-dimensional. being strong is important, but so is flexibility, agility, endurance, speed, balance, defending yourself, etc. if a person wants to develop physique, cool, but i aim to still move - lift/run/climb at 60, heck, why not 90.
This is awesome too many years of boring workouts with sets, reps, back and biceps, chest and back blah blah blah. Finally fun and creativity in a workout with great results.
The movement aspects of this would benefit from evolving and incorporating parkour. After all, parkour evolved from this, and holds similar philosophies.
Excellent video. This goes to show everyone that the gym doesn't have to be static workouts and boring treadmills. These are TRUE gym exercises and I wish were more practiced by the general population. Regardless, top notch video boys and girls. Love the dog sequence.
nice skin the cat at the end!! i wish there was a facility that focused on this kind of training here in my town! i like the plank exercise too, going thru the hurdles! that was brilliant!
I love this place! Very knowledgeable staff - particularly in the Olympic lifts and gymnastics moves. They go beyond teaching and developing clients in the strength domains as they also work on metabolic conditioning, balance, agility, climbing and much more! I really like the way they have stretched my ideas about what fitness is, as I practice these skills/exercises with the useful (and naturally instinctive) intent of defense and survival (escaping, evading, balancing and attacking). It's fun
Someone who trains as an olympic sprinter is training in a particular skill, while burning fat and gaining muscle. so the answer could be both, however it's not as they are doing lots of different skills. so fat loss/muscle gain.
Holy crap! I feel cool just knowing you guys! I love Strength Box! Every workout is f@)^@in' FUN!!!! Sexy pistols Liz! I do NOT have those yet...more time in the Box will change that!
i'm very glad to know great people as you....

looks cool, but i prefer strict high resistance training
deadlift 2.5x bw and squat 2x bw - much more satisfying and return on investment is greater in terms of physique development / time spent training

@UAZaqwert This is much more about skill and form than strength. It's not meant to be strength.

Is this fat loss/muscle gain, or training in particular skills? And don't say "both" - they're mutually exclusive.
grantsinmypants2 1 year ago
@grantsinmypants2
do you know the meaning of mutually exclusive?
