You HAVE to get it to have maximum friendship. Give him/her massages, don't let them faint in battle, give it the poffins it likes if you havnt hatched one for contests specifically, and after Golbat, if you do this right, you could have a Kickass Crobat within the next 5 or 10 levels!!!

I THINK so. I had recently a zubat, and kept it from evolving a few times, then after awhile I let it, and it went to a crobat instead and now I have a level 30 crobat

you need to start with zubat than globat than crobat, if you just catch globat it wont work. it needs friendly relationship to evlove to crobat

e.g. tm return depends on friendship to gain alot of strength

Hmmm I think there's an item that you need to give it to Golbat.Remember: Friendship is the key for Pokemons ^^

Basically you should just battle with it alot and keep it in the front slot of your party. Healing status ailments ASAP, and giving it poffens do help. I've only got 6 badges in this game and I've already gotten him...at level 28 (hes now lvl 36btw, one kick ass pokemon if you ask me!!)

doesnt have to..... catched zubat at lvl 4.... evolved into golbat 1 lvl later in crobat... it LIKES ME

Ummm yours is actually sort of the noob way, you can just walk 1000 steps with a Zubat/Golbat and make it love you while raising one in a luxury ball at a low level also helps.
