i havnt really liked street fighter game since alpha 2 and so i picked up this one to try to get back into i and im so disappointed in the "charge" moves such as Chun Li's Kiouken (sp). Why did they change it from half circle forward? Also I just can't play this game with a 360 controller hooked up to my pc so I will have to get a gamepad. i can never quickly pull off 2 out of 3 of her attacks because they are charge and as soon as you see me backing up you know whats coming.

I get what you mean on the cheapening of the dragon punch but, they made it more accessible to the weaker players which in turns into sales and a game developer is still a company.

Phil inspired me to get back into fighters, and I bought SF4 yesterday because of him! :D Although I just play casually and for fun, so I doubt HIGHLY I'll pay an extra $40-$80 for a joystick...Especially if it isn't really needed...

No, it's quite obvious that you use it.

Standard combos after a jump in have 2 or 3 light attacks, and then a link into Medium or Heavy then into a special or whatever you need to do after that.

Nobody, at all, can successfully pull of the Links 100% of the time, and as a result, it leaves you open for a Reversal if you don't do it perfectly right (Which is even harder online)

Now, since Reversals are essentially doing a counter on the first (Or first few) frames possible after a block or a hit, they're also difficult especially if you want to do a Dragon punch and you might just get hit with the Linked move even if they didn't do the link successfully.

All that changes with the input Shortcut, and absolute guard.

You can essentially, block one light hit, Absolute guard will guard automatically for you until the link, during which time you can mash Down Forward and Punch and still be completely safe.

If the opponent misses the link, free Dragon Punch

So in other words, the issue w/ core players is that the game rewards defense too much w/ the dfx2 & Punch mash for reversal shoryukens? There's been quite a few times where I've used the shortcut as well, but the motion for a shoryuken isn't hard to do. From what I think, it was made that way for convenience, but when you think about it, it does reward defense play heavily in the end, despite helping w/ offensive play to a degree (mainly for comvos and making sure no of no accident hadokens).
