  • Ics and wp7 mango ftw!!!!!!

  • I have " Flashed" my Galaxy s to 4.0.3 Works very good =)

  • What does he mean by did it MANUALLY?

  • 5:39 perfect ! now i can listen/change songs while driving without having to unlock it.

  • Can't wait till nexus s 4 g gets the update, it's feels like forever in phone years or something

  • google y u no make 8 megapixel camera???????

  • A few of the apps stopped working, after updates they are improving. The assigned ringtones are no longer assigned to anyone in particular-they just decide for themselves. The touchscreen works when its good and ready to, have to press the side button twice-once I had to pull the battery out. And generally the whole thing is as slow as a wet week! My carrier won't do anything about it, S****** can't fix it cos its a G*****, and you can't talk to G***** except in forums!

  • how do i activate my toggle widgets on the notification bar?

i seen some videos were they have it but mine dont! :(

  • Runs smoothly, especially considering it's 1 ghz single core.

  • Ugly ui

  • @showerladdy Hardly. It's much more elegant than iOS. Maybe it's just his homescreen arrangement that you don't like?

  • @mobileburn is it worth buying the nexus s now and updating, even tho its a single core device,or should i go for something like the samsung galaxy R?

  • Dude have u figured out how to set an MP3 from your library as a ringtone? I updated my nexus s (old one you got) to ics 4.0.3 and i really have no idea how to set a MP3 rintone yet... I would appreciate it if you could reply:)

  • ICS IS THE BEST

  • boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Android you suck!!

  • @BoiiGorg3ous i think you suck more. go back and play wif ur toyphone thats worth 1pound.

  • @BoiiGorg3ous Beats iOS or Windows Phone 7.

  • Nexus S has the worst battery every. I just got this phone switched over from iphone and i dont know why you guyz hate iphone but honestly iphone is decades ahead of android. IPHONE JUST SIMPLY WORKS whereas all android phones and there apps are running wild out of control opening and consuming batter and memory when every they like. No matter how many times you close an app it always opens back up again!!! STUPID !!!

  • @daasguy99 maybe your just retarded and don't close your apps the correct way. Anyways, the system kills the app automatically after a while if it is running in the background.

  • @daasguy99 bah.. friggin apple fanboys. steve is dead.. and apple will die muahahahhhahahahhahahahhaha

  • @Nintendy123 Doesn't matter if it dies or doesn't right now android's a kid just like you. android fanboy!

  • OK I have a nexus s 4g from sprint when the hell am I gonna see ics 4.0on my phone without root or manual update...cusi hav all kinds of problems ...signal( biggestproblem),and other countless with gb

  • does the search button still retain it's original purpose

  • What happened to youre phone? :-\

  • This 'upgrade' has wrecked my phone.

  • @mahtay2000 What happened bro?

  • @lutfihambalimr Now I can't post what I want to say to you because it bags certain big names!!!!

  • what about the face unlock? does it work on nexus s?

  • @lokia11 nope, and touch to focus dont work too ..

  • Looking at the two phones side by side, the Nexus S has a much brighter screen. Have you turned the brightness down on the Galaxy Nexus, or is the bigger screen not as bright?

  • The battery issues is due to Android OS being a big player when it shouldnt really even show up on the battery meter (as yours was) Im trying to find a fix now as are tones of others then your battery will be even better ;)

  • Updated my Nexus S to ICS on Friday. First impressions: keyboard improved, UI slick and responsive...loving it.

  • Hi, how long have you been using it? Have you had problems with wifi/carrier data issues? Because some people in the Google help forums said they have those problems along with major battery drain issues.

  • @samuraixyz those were problems in 4.0.2, 4.0.3 is supposed to fix them

  • @samuraixyz oui j ai des problèmes : mes contacts n apparaissent plus lors de la réception d un appel seul le numéro apparait : plus de photo et plus de nom !!!très ennuyeux

  • When can we expect an official ROM for the Nexus S 4G? Or does the original Nexus S ROM work on the 4G? Thanks!

  • The nexus s already received an update to 4.0

  • @SeekLegend Im aware.. lol. My question is when will the Nexus S 4G receive the update. The Nexus S and the Nexus S 4G are two separate phones.

  • How many times people have to say he said Honeycomb?

  • i wish the Epic 4G would get ICS.....Stupid Samsung...

  • @1TuBeR09 If you want updates, I would go with the one of the nexus phones in the future- those are the "true" android devices, because they are marketed by google; devices like the epic 4g exist because android is open source, and manufacturers want to make their own devices

  • @ardniban only as a custom ROM. Difficulties atm.because of lack of camera functionality/true hardware acceleration and 3D.

  • @MAZSOES he had to manually update it you should get the update in approx. a month

  • I thought this google nexus walks. lol

  • Nexus s looks so small compared to the galaxy nexus

  • i wondering when my captivate got ICS :(

  • @89backbone Never, it's a device of the Galaxy S series, they won't get the ICS update...check out xdadevelopers for root and CustomROMs...

  • what happened to the poor phone lol even on the google voice widget it says ouch you wound me :P

  • Hope for true Ics for gs2

  • I am running this as well the nexus is now a hidden gem

  • I just got my nexus s yesterday and im still running on 2.3.4? and at systemupdates it says that there aren't systemupdates available? help me

  • lol... "things are quite good on android 4.0 honeycomb"

  • Has anyone with an i9020a received the update?

  • Noaa...Nexus one is not getting ICS

  • @junforgiven I'm sure it'll have AOSP ports soon, and it should be getting CM9 eventually.

  • @kyokeun I got the official OTA update last night and have been playing with it since.. there is unfortunately no 720p HD ;( be sure to check out my channel!

  • Can it take 720p HD video now?

  • @kyokeun Nopes......i gt the ota......in fact now we are restricted to only 1 shooting mode.....480*720.......can't change it.........u do get panorama mode though.....

  • @Sushant1219 Aw, that sucks. But I'm not going to take a lot of video with that thing anyways :P I can't wait till I get my OTA update :D

  • that phone is burned n crack

  • is the nexus one getting this?

  • Very throughout (early) review, thanks.

  • I'm loving everything about ICS ^_^

  • I just got my I love it I have the nexus s

  • UGHH I want ICS sooo bad why did I get the MT4G

  • is the galaxy nexus going to be on sprint later on?

  • android 4.0 HONEYCOMB?

  • @bizarrEaster Yeah yeah, I goofed up there.

  • @mobileburn It happens. Good review though

  • Starting to look overloaded like windows mobile

  • @alijahgreen its looks like that because this phone screen is low resolution, but on the galaxy nexus is looks normal because it has a HD screen

  • What did u do to ur phone?

  • The damage to the top of your Nexus S, is that just cracked or did a piece of it completely chip off?

  • Why there is no update for me?

  • Running smoothly on my Nexus S 4G too :-)

  • Daaaaaang, what happened to your Nexus S!? Did you run it over?

  • can you do a general speed test between the two in opening apps and such?

  • nice review!

what about the camera, is there any change from 2.3.6. (UI or performance)?

  • @lpka The UI is all new. Watch our Galaxy Nexus videos to see the new ICS user interface.

  • @mobileburn Does the ICS have that fast snapshot, or is this only nexus thing ? If it has, is it good (on focusin)? Thanks.

  • @NahkeaTaata That is a Galaxy Nexus feature.

  • @mobileburn I read the camcorder now has stabilization in ICS, can you confirm this?

Thank you for the walkthrough. Can't wait till the GS2 gets it.

  • @bondosho No IS that I can see.

  • @mobileburn Darn. Thank for the reply!

  • Nicely written, I am also running Android 4.0.3 on my Galaxy S Variant (thanks to rooting and devs) the build is called teamhacksung build 2 Android 4.0.3. The source core seems to have been taken from the Nexus S release of Ice Cream Sandwich. Code name for it is CM9.

  • Copy Cat operating System .... I will never use a Android phone again they are a bunch of assholes who steals people idea and technology

  • @BoiiGorg3ous and? Why not if it improves something better? Use your brain you moron, with out "copy cats" their would never be change dumbass

  • @BoiiGorg3ous Go back to your iPhone then and stop complaining.

  • QUE FEO DE PANA! demasiadas mierdas juntas...

  • Great review!!!! I am looking forward to ics now.

  • WOW beam!!!

  • Is the beam feature only on Nexus devices?

  • @GetPatriotized Well, it's OS dependent at this point, so only the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S right now. But when other NFC-capable devices get the ICS update, it should work with them as well.

  • GOOD

  • I have Samsung Galaxy S (first gen) that have exactly the same specs with Nexus S,

But samsung says that Galaxy S won't get ICS because it's not capable to handle it. strange. :|

  • Thank you for this!

  • quick sweet review with damaged phone & all ftw

  • I have 4.0.3 on galaxy s 1

  • This is ok but the Galaxy s3 will be a force to reckon with!

  • very thorough review. Thank you sir

  • THE NEW ICS UPDATE MAKES MY BATTERY DIES about 40% faster!! (nexus s)

  • @weishin92 You sure you aren't just playing with it more? I see no change whatsoever.

  • am fancying a sandwich and a ice cream now :D

  • When is the S II gonna get ICS?

  • @wdbm86 in early 2012 :D

  • @superhm36 Thanx bro, can't wait :)

  • @wdbm86 Q1 2012 with Galaxy Note..

  • @DarknesSxLDS Thank you sir

  • Wow! How could it get that big scratch?

  • @rainedFond It is actually shattered and covered with tape. Dropped it in a locker room at a pool in Germany while on vacation.

  • @mobileburn is it very bad or just the phone is easily shattered?

  • @mobileburn butterfingers...

  • @clokedbigman Fell out of my jeans pocket when I removed them from the locker to get changed out of my swimsuit. I almost caught it as it fell, but almost didn't cut it - obviously.

  • @mobileburn there better have been some hot lifeguard chick you were checking out...otherwise there is no excuse lol

  • @rainedFond U can download it from the market.

  • The update should be made available to everybody in the next month or so?

    ..........including the HTC Thunderbolt?!?!

  • @edgelitafans1 Everybody running the Nexus S. I didn't mention the update on any other phones. Sorry.

  • @mobileburn Ah, dammit. Got excited for a second. Oh well. :(

  • Ice cream sandwich...not honeycomb!

  • I have the 1st comment!
