@Uzamaki1995 You're right about it not being Zakk. BUT Zakk was not away with BLS. He hadn't even put BLS together yet. Actually, Zakk got an offer to join GnR after he recorded Ozzmosis. He also was working on his southern rock thing called Pride and Glory. Ozzy told him he should go for the GnR gig, so Ozzy let him go. GnR didn't work out but he put the Prid and Glory thing together, then did his solo album, Book of Shadows.

@hell6before6heaven6 I ain't wrong about shit kid. You were all of about 5 years old when all that stuff went down. Zakk got the call from Axl and told Ozzy he didn't know what he should do. Ozzy made his mind up for him and told him Zakk didn't owe him anything and to take the opportunity. After a few days of jamming Zakk told Slash he didn't think he was right for the band. Slash agreed. Zakk then went on to form Pride & Glory. I remember watching all the TV interviews when it went down.

By then Ozzy had already signed Holmes. So Zakk did Pride & Glory. That fell apart so he did a solo album, Book of Shadows. Then in '98 he started auditioning players for BLS. In '01 Ozzy started work on Down to Earth, but had no chemistry with Holmes. So he called Zakk back to record on the already written album, then tour.

@Quake4Arena Actually pal it was not Zakk. It was Joe Holmes. (not Josh Holmes like the gaylord below stated.) Zakk recorded Ozzmosis. But before the tour started Zakk got an offer to join Guns n Roses, and he wanted to do some of his own material. Zakk was at odds on what to do because he wanted to be there for Ozzy. But Ozzy was good enough to not hold a grudge and told Zakk to go on and give it a shot. Joe Holmes was a student of Randy Rhoads when he was a kid. THIS is Joe Holmes on tour.
