true hidden gem of the ps2 era. one of the most beautiful and heart-warming rpgs i have ever played. I recently finished it again (yesterday) and felt depressed after I had finished it and returned to playing gears of war 3. They don't make them like this anymore :(
The Shadow Hearts series is 1 of the few RPG's I love playing. I wish they would make another game. The graphics would look awesome on the PS3. I wonder if they'd ever consider making an anime of he series.
@some1killmeplease I dread to think of a Shadow Hearts anime. They did one for Xenosaga and they completely destroyed it. I don't want ANYONE destroying Shadow Hearts' beautiful story. >.<
@lufiende I haven't played Xenosaga, but I did see the anime. It maybe because I haven't played the games, but I didn't think the anime was completely horrible.
wow i didnt get this ending but i got the one that covenant choose to continue the story with which makes the game memorable this game was highly underrated its up there wit my other favorite final fantasy 8
Now here's the kicker. What if you beat shadow hearts one with the good ending first, then go on to play shadow hearts 2? You're going to go WTF MATE? and then who knows what next?
I know its virtually impossible to get the good ending without going back, but hey, things COULD happen like that.
I went online after that to discover I had gotten the wrong ending. I was supposed to have gotten the Bad ending.
That kind of killed it for me; I intend to play what I hear is an awesome game; Shadow Hearts 2, but I needed to take a break to *forget* all the things I liked about the first so I could enjoy SH2 with a clean slate...
@LexarVantalis It really depends on how you see it. It could be taken that because of the way SH2 ended that Yuri went back to the moment he met Alice and did it all again. If he fails, he just repeats the process. Time paradox!
SH3 sucked, though. There's simply no comparison between it and SH2. The vampiric pro wrestler and dog that was smarter than the rest of them combined > light-saber knife.
Then let me clear your head, i have seen an interview about this game, this is what was asked.
"Why does Shadow Hearts 1,2 have such a sad endings?"
"Sad endings? why are they sad?"
"Yuri never finds happiness everything will happen over and over again?"
"No this is the meaning of the games SH1 ended first with bad ending, then SH2 ended with good, and it is then meaning for you to play SH1 and get good ending, if you do then everything adds up to SH3 havent you noticed Lenny?"
I loved this ending. The main theme for the closing credits was a beautiful track. I especially like where they added the note about Prince Franz Ferdinand's assassination in Sarajevo that sparked the first World War. It gave the story a touch of realism. Thanks for uploading this.
This was one of the more difficult endings that I have ever tried to get. Thank goodness for online strategy guides.

... I got the good ending the first time I played this game.
I spent HOURS extra doing all the extra scenerios, all the quests; made Yuri into that demi-god... [killed final god boss in one move!]
And I loved the game. I was SO PSYCHED for the sequel.
...I load up SH2, and discover she DIED like right after my SH1 ending. o....k.
WTF. Okay/// great
Play a little further... Yuri gets his ass handed to him by first enemy. OMG WOOT
