@merelyapparent -Lee did not die till recently (2003 ?) What makes you say" he thought he was going to die" ? Did you know him personally ? Turn us all on to your sources of info. Did you read a book ? You need to read the poster I responded to in order to get your question answered. Not every famous musician asks for or wants fame. You are absolutely right.

It is funny how certain bands are remembered, and others are not.

If anyone reads early issues of Rolling Stone, for example, they slagged most of the Doors albums, yet the Doors are much better known than Love.

Or look at the Creation. They were bowing guitars long before Jimmy Page.

@kikibortok --could have been his management. Or the strange lyrics in most of the songs. His was more psychedelic that most of the other bands. There are those of us who will always rate Love the highest. The masses don't always get the message.
