bioware won't ruin tor because every one of bioware's games have been awesome. mass effect, dragon age, baldur's gate. combined with lucas arts it'll be a great game. its obviously SoE's fault. they messed up SWG and now their messing up dc universe online.

I still remember the first NPC Dark Jedi on my srvr we owned. It took like 20 of us 3 runs at him with creature handler pets keeping the battle going while we spawned and ran back. That was 2 months after its release and the most powerful guy in the grp was a master marksman with a few rifleman traits. LOL, those were the days.
The long distance runs to Jabbas palace before the personal bikes were available. I quit at the CU when my 3500+ doc buffs turned to sithy stims!
Back in the pre-cu days, my guild which were all RL friends, would group up and hunt on Dathomir. One of my friends was a master ranger. He'd set up the camp after we spent a few hours killing everything and we'd all hang out and shoot the shit at his awesome camp. Good times.

the game is ok now but i wont play anymore because all SoE does is make FOTMs every 3 months a new one is made and the old FOTM is ruined more than before it got "balance passed". they have no spines, they dont play their own game, and let the loudest forum whiners make all their decisions for them thinking if they do this they might draw back their elusive original fans but all they do is run off their new ones with their indecisiveness and ongoing pay $15 a month for a 7 year beta phase

Guys, there is a pre-cu SWG out. It is free and also pre-cu. They havn't quite finished it yet but it will be done "soon". Google SWGemu or SWG emulator!

I joined up after NGE, but I'd still like to say I think this is a brilliant game tbh. Great planets/ scenery (apart from if you get sent on Bounties to Tatooine too much!), some great people on there, some great times to have. Plus I hear Hoth Instance is coming, and that vehicle combat will be introduced as part of it, maybe further intergrated.
As empty as the galaxy's have got recently, as little you hear of newer players, I'd say the Force is still with this one :)

I think NGE would be a great game if it was the original SWG. However the original SWG was so unique and diverse in terms of what you could do, so many different ways to BS and so many different proffs. It was nice to have game where you didn't have to do any combat or could mix up combat with a crafting proffesion/entertainer. The game felt like a real micro-universe. When NGE hit it took away all these complex features, and took away most of the player base which I enjoyed. Your NGE'S SoE WoW.
You're right. I always wanted to be able to be two professions. But a lot of the reasons why people quit is because the Jedi, who spent months trying to become one, felt like all their work was for nothing, give them a cloak and say Congrats, Elder Jedi. Either way, you still have to work AS hard to become something big in the game.
Ive tried this game and i think it OWNS! im a bounty hunter on trial, but i got a problem. When i start the game it says problem client stuff. When im in it its fine but as soon as there si a little lag it exits the game. It said try scan full, i have done that and it didnt do anything, please if anybody can help me tell me!

CU is Combat Upgrade, it ruined the game for a lot of the veterans, NGE is New Game Enhancement/Experience, that totally ruined the game for most of the rest of the people. If you log on now you'll find hardly anyone playing in the numbers they used to. I remember hanging around Mos Eisley cantina asking for a group to go hunt Squills. A number of people I'd actually meet in real life, was always fun, good friends, now sadly gone their separate ways due to the game being ruined.
this makes me miss the good old days Before THe NGE STORM. i use to sit out at my city that i made in tairse (or however you spell its been so long since i played the game) and watch the sun set and how wounderful of a view it was, going to party at night and weddings in during the day. then a NGE came lost my city, lost 100 firends and finally lost my interest in the game "the death star destorys planets but SOE destorys games"

I was a Pre-pub 9 jeeedi. Hologrinded it and loved being a jedi back when it meant something. When 2-3 jedi hitting the field of battle could turn the tide. Now any 9 year old with m ommies visa card can roll one out of the box, kinda makes all the years I spent on SWG were kinda wasted. But as with any MMORPG that epically fails, another irses to take its place.
i remember wehn u didnt level in the game ..u just bought armor and u ask trainers what u want to do... it was really fun back then but then u have to level up and its so boring now a days
heaven. By using skills or specific weaponry etc u gained exp in THAT field. and then u spent those in the spec of that exp. Then the jedi system... i dont have enough space to describe that... but i remember countless times i went to Dantooine Mining Outpost to get groups to kill Bols... :( swg was awesome.

SWG will never been seen on the live servers. NOTE: NGE AINT SWG its SWNGE. STAR WARS New Game Enchantment can't be compared with Star Wars Galaxies An Empire Divided because its two different games.

CU is Combat Upgrade, it ruined the game for a lot of the veterans, NGE is New Game Enhancement/Experience, that totally ruined the game for most of the rest of the people. If you log on now you'll find hardly anyone playing in the numbers they used to. I remember hanging around Mos Eisley cantina asking for a group to go hunt Squills. A number of people I'd actually meet in real life, was always fun, good friends, now sadly gone their separate ways due to the game being ruined.

Pre CU FTW! SWG didn't need levels and at that time Jedi actually meant something.
I don't think releasing PreCU servers will help but it will defiantely be better.
CU ruined the game, NGE killed it.

i agree i am pre cu and NGE and NGE broke my heart. i was 3 bars from jedi status and then they maded it where anyone can get it

this makes me miss the good old days Before THe NGE STORM. i use to sit out at my city that i made in tairse (or however you spell its been so long since i played the game) and watch the sun set and how wounderful of a view it was, going to party at night and weddings in during the day. then a NGE came lost my city, lost 100 firends and finally lost my interest in the game "the death star destorys planets but SOE destorys games"

before the update!!!! that ruined so many alough i remain there and i cant lvl or do quests on my main, so i am stuck lvl 31 alough i have all of my vet rewards in my bunker so anyone on chilastra please add oiliojj to their friends list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My other friends works at LucasArts and he says SOE is creating some PreCu servers so that more people will subscribe again. I like the new setup better though...Other than the Jedi thing.

I have a request , On Endor in this game there is a creature called " Boar Wolf " Now I saw a few pics of it and it looks similar to what it looked like in the Ewok adventure movie , But I'm curious as to how they made it sound in this game , Would it be possible to record a video of you fighting one please? If you loved SWG and loved the Pre-CU days... join the swg EMU community. They are bringing back SWG to the Pre-CU days and will allow the future content to be directed by the community. Come check it out, they have a few test servers up and are implementing a new feature toward completion of the emu almost everyday. Please visit (ww) swgemu (com) and join the SWG PRE-CU movement. i was a rebel heavy weapons spec pre-CU, i dont remember the exact name of the spec but man taking down at-at's were the funnest shite in any game, /cry the game is still fun and i think they should consolidate some of the servers

Wow...how I miss that game. Was going through my old screen shots and I cannot help but to feel sad. I know it is so lame, but SWG's community was unlike any other game. I miss everyone.

I was a Pre-pub 9 jeeedi. Hologrinded it and loved being a jedi back when it meant something. When 2-3 jedi hitting the field of battle could turn the tide. Now any 9 year old with m ommies visa card can roll one out of the box, kinda makes all the years I spent on SWG were kinda wasted. But as with any MMORPG that epically fails, another irses to take its place.

heaven. By using skills or specific weaponry etc u gained exp in THAT field. and then u spent those in the spec of that exp. Then the jedi system... i dont have enough space to describe that... but i remember countless times i went to Dantooine Mining Outpost to get groups to kill Bols... :( swg was awesome.

SWG will never been seen on the live servers. NOTE: NGE AINT SWG its SWNGE. STAR WARS New Game Enchantment can't be compared with Star Wars Galaxies An Empire Divided because its two different games.

It is still SWG, all thing must change, nothing can stay the same forever, no matter how much you hate it, it's still Star Wars Galaxies. And it will be to the day it's dead. And even if you people are wright, and I'm fighting for nothing, I'm still proud of it, but I know I'm fighting for SWG, the real SWG
