Hi, Thank you for the demo with Beatles songs:-) Really like em and you are doing good at the guitar. Do you know what kind of strings you have used for this (I know it was a long time ago). How was the factory setup? I've heard it is very bad, did you get it settet up right? I'm also not quite sure if I should save some more money and get a J-160 instead of the EJ. Anyway nice video and a wonderful guitar!

Mine is Chinese built. The overall quality is excellent but the set up was poor. I've had to tweak it a lot including blocking down the saddle (compensated bone). I like gold hardware, so I replaced the tuners, screws, strap buttons, and everything else with gold hardware. It's a real eye catcher now. You can probably order a case from Musician's Friend. BTW Revolver, thanks for posting this video. I enjoyed hearing these songs. And you don't suck at all...

The Epiphone doesn't come within cooeee of the Gibson. It sounds cold and tinny.

@liambox17 A J45 is no comparison, it having a solid top while the J160E had a laminate top. The new Epiphone J160E's do have solid tops though.

He got Brian Ep to buy him a 160 e in about 1962 cos he couldn't afford it, so Eppy bought one for him, and George. I have never seen him with an Epihone accoustic, just the white electric. Enlighten me further please.

That is frankly rubbish. I can't speak to every recording they did but Lennon in particular had a very unique way of approaching rhythm playing, you'd be a fool not to learn something from it.

You can keep playing like a timid 8 year old or you can open your mind a bit to other methods of playing...

true lennon had some noteworthy guitar skills and talents, but if i want to be a great guitarist, there are lots of other people i should look to before Lennon. he said himself he wasn't all that great at playing instruments.

Your playing is great, by the way. I just have one minor suggestion for you: whenever you play a song in which John Lennon played acoustic in, except for soft songs, "Till There Was You" and "I'll Be Back being the only exceptions to this rule, let the guitar have it. Strum as hard as you can, feel no remorse (just be careful not to scratch your guitar.)

i have to crank the amp up to around 9/10 to hear it well. its only because there is bleed of the acoustic sound through the amp.

but its got great tone. listen to "i feel fine." thats the best example to hear the tone. the main guitar.

at my Guitar center, the new ones sell for $600. thats how i saved the 220.

the guy who put the guitar up for sale included a case. he was just being nice. thats the only reason i got one.
