I can't belive how many schools and collages have been build in North Manchester. Not to mention sports centres and sure-start centres. I am not looking forward to seeing these great new inspiring projects with boards on the windows which I know will happen in the not to distant future.
History repeats itself. Vote Tory the less well off suffer.
Gordon will be miss by me and many who may never know it.
I also cried when Gordon went and I was a 34 year old man who doesn't cry at funerals.
When I was a school I had to change schools because of closures.I live in Manchester not a small village with to few pupils. The classrooms were war-zones and learning was way down the list of priorities. I don't blame the teachers at all, they really should have had zoo keepers or prison wardens in that place and this was one of Manchester's best schools.
@jprbritishcritic That's the thing, people who defected to Lib Dems from Labour now regret what they have done as it has just shooed the Tories into No.10
When Cameron starts to get underway with his cuts, people will regret not getting out there and voting Labour on May 6th to keep them out.
We're just lucky they never got a majority, may God have helped us if they did...
Gordon, please come back and save Britain from that scumbag poser Cameron!!
A man of integrity and conviction in an age of soundbites and superficiality. Britain does not realise what it has lost. To all those who shed a tear when Gordon left Downing Street, I promise to redouble my efforts to get Labour back in power.
I had tears in my eyes when Brown resigned on the steps of downing street, and even more so when that happened last night. The realisation that he is gone is hard to take in, he was a good prime minister, would have been great under better times. The fact is this country is still standing thanks to him. Goodbye Mr Brown, you'll always be my favourite Prime Minister for the strength and inability to be turned during the harsh times.
Thank you Mr Brown for all your hard work throughout the past 13 years, I started medical school under a labour government, I have seen the amazing achievements that has saved so many. Now a doctor I continue to work in an NHS that is the best in the world. Youre leaving statement to the country and labour resonates. Today I have meet nurses and colleagues who are very sad to see you and the labour party go. "By the strength of our common endeavour we achieve more together than we do alone
Gordon Brown who is the son of a church minister.David Cameron the son of a stockbroker And Nick Clegg the son of banker. Which of the three have the wellbeing of the less well off majority in his heart. Only Gordon Brown. GOD BLESS HIM! The new caring Labour leader will blow these two new leaders at the helm trying to steer in two different directions clean out of the water!
The Future Fair For All Indelibly imprinted on all caring peoples minds will endure long after the bias media have shut up shop and gone away. More people every day are seeing through their rediculous smokesceen.
We have seen the biggest bank (wealth) robbery in history.A blatant inside job perpetrated by the bankers and their ultra wealthy backers resulting in the credit crunch and hoarding of vast wealth as seen in the World Wealth Reports 2007 and 2009.The bankers and Ultra wealthy have the son of a stockbroker and son of a banker at the helm in number 10 Downing street. Scared? We should be!
So sad to see Gordon go and no Lab/Lib pact to form a progressive government. We will see just how much compromise the Lib Dems have got from the Tories. Finally, so angry at Blunkett, Abbott et al for ambushing the potential of a Lab/Lib pact and a referendum on proportional voting.
I am proud to have joined a Labour party under the leadership of Gordon Brown, It's a shame that things have played out this way. Great speech from a great man.
It brakes my heart to see the Conservatives in power in the UK again - thank you Labour for everything you have done! it always seems to be the same - tories corrupt us and we come back to help the people - it will happen again, it seems Clegg is right - back and forth - but it seems the people always forget the previous hardship and always look for change, not stability and safety.
Farewell Gordon. You are a great man, a great leader and you'll be greatly missed. Farewell Labourm but I'm expecting to see you back in power very soon! :)
Gordon, they say that political careers always end in failure.. yet you broke that mould.
Quite frankly you gave the heart back to the party.
You leave in grace, and you have given direction.
Those who watched closely know what happened, it is to your credit. Labour will come back and lead the world and the UK into sanity and progress due to your decency and vision.
Thanks Gordon.
You made me proud of Labour for the first time in a long time.
I saw this on the TV and wanted to clap along with those there. Thank you to Gordon Brown for everything you've done for the country, for the people both as Prime Minister and as the best Chancellor of the Exchequer we've ever had. No matter what the press, other parties or some in our party might say you've done a lot for all of us and we'd be far poorer if not for you.
And now we have to live through the horror of a Tory/Lib Dem government with Cameron, Clegg and Osborne at the helm.
Going to miss you Brown, I am only 16 and I will always vote for Labour. (When I can) Britain needs people like Brown to guide them to a brighter future. At least this Lib-Con government will strip away all of the Lib dems voters and will show the general public how awful Thaterite conservatives are.
Thanks Gordon for everything you've done for the country. I think you have shown a tremendous amount of dignity the past couple of days. I am sorry to see you go.
God bless you Gordon Brown. We will miss you deeply. Now we just have to concentrate and trying to stop the Tories ruining the good work done over the past 13 years.
Gordon Brown is by far the best politician this country has ever seen, it's a sad day for Labour and I hope the new leader can do as fine a job as Gordon did!
Take care Gordon, And I hope The UK survives the next 5 years now the conservatives have got in, I guess labour will be left to clean up in the next general election.
Damn, this speech sure managed to cheer me up after seeing Cameron become PM. Well done, Gordon Brown. The people will be begging to see Labour back in power once the Tories start clearing out the "waste in the economy" (i.e. cutting jobs).
Gordon Brown is AWESOME!

Is it normal to sob at this speech even past a year onwards? He was one of the greatest Prime Ministers this country will ever have.

This was such a commanding, powerful and rousing speech. If only he could have produced something like that during the campaign.
I hope that the leadership contest will really bring about a renewal of labour. Pretty much everyone else has been short changed by the coalition.

That's a quote from the new Clause IV which Blair wrote in '95 if I'm not mistaken.
Bring back the old Clause IV I reckon.

He shoundt resing as party leader, the main reason the tories won some seats is the crisis.
Nobody won the election.
This hung parlement needs a miracle to last 5 years and i woundt be surprized if it doesnt last a year and then a known trusted leader is the key...
Im normally not a Labour supporter but i support Brown to stay as leader.

Nick Clegg has doomed us.
The conservatives have openly stated they wont vote in favour of PR.
And now Labour have no reason to vote for PR either.
We will never get PR all because Nick Clegg got greedy for a short term solution.
Thanks, Nick.
