  • There actually isn't a C...

  • If you look closely . and deeply you'll see the language are like stick figures having sex..

  • Isnt sun in the dragon language "shuul"? So wouldnt it be "yol thoor shuul" instead of whatever was written in the video?

  • I don't get it... How do i write it it HUMAN letters, like "yol" and those things? instead of strange markings: #¤%&/ <------- let's pretend this is a dragon letter thing, how do i transelate it to words like, Kain, or Mehhrock?

  • Drehmulock

  • @WhenWeRide666 Drem Yol Lok Fadon.

  • @BrAdAmxx no its 1 word cuz if it was how u said it yol means fire and fire gots nothing to do with saying greetings

  • I dont get it. :*(

  • si mi jaka krathin ihk sia geth. si mi ux Bahamuti!

  • Last*

  • FIN YOL ahST FIN KRein Lein ramdom stuff i put together from the lsat part of the vid everyone reply with the translation

  • im going to write in the dragon language in english class

  • @gamer222ful LoL same here its funny writing things about the teacher and they dont know what it is XD

  • ...What do we use for C?

  • @KittenKitoko The Dragon Language in Skyrim doesn't have a " C " letter, so you would substitute "S" or "K" for C.

  • Ok, i know how to write it, BUT HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE THE WORDS, thats what im looking for. What im trying to say is how does MU MeyZ KO VOKUN=We come in shadow?

  • @TheMilkinmypocket Mu = we, meyz = come, ko = in, vokun = shadow

Dragonic is a language just like English or Spanish, they have their own words created from scratch, it's not a cipher or anything. Just spelling the words in English and then writing the Dragonic runes for it doesn't make it Dragonic. For example, if you want to say "He is a dragon" in Dragonic, you have to look up the translation for the individual words (perhaps on the tes wiki) and you'll get "Rok los aan dovah".

  • or in Dragon Language my nickname "Ace"

  • Could you spell my name in Dagon language? "Alec"

  • Comment removed

  • I'm confused. If i take "The" And write out the symbols for T, H and E how do you end up with a completely diffrent letter when translating it to english so you can speak it?

  • @Ryimozz you don't need to write the simbols for THE you need to write the simbols of the acronim of THE in dragon language which is FIN (THE=FIN). Write the simbols of the F, I, N!!

  • There are no "C" in the dragon language...

  • @Awooku yes there is, only recently is was added though, Pete even said it himself

  • QUESTION! How do you get the english word and make it into another word with different letters? Wouldn't you just write the symbols?

  • Looked at it more. I was wrong. VOKUN is shadow, and VOKUL is evil. My bad.

  • In shadow we come*

Also, VOKUN is shadow? I don't know about this. If you look on the back of the issue of GI that had this language first released, there is the epic poem:

    DOVahKiiN DOVahKiiN Dragonborn Dragonborn

NaaL OK ZIN LOS VahRiiN By his honor is sworn

Wah DeiN VOKUL MahFAERaaK ahST VaaL To keep evil forever at bay

In this instance, VOKUL represents evil, by your guide...

  • MU MeyZ KO VOKUN*

I was wrong. 4 = 4. Can't be that way every time though, and it's not...since PaaRTHURNAX speaks this language along with english, and if you notice, he'll say what he said (most of the time) in dovah to english...and there are certainly differences in the number of words used...and if it's a proper language, they're order in which they're said due to the grammatical rules being different. "We come in shadow," could be, "In shadow we com," in dovah.

  • We come in shadow = MU MeyZ VOKUN

How do you know that? 4 words = 3 in dovah? What are you using as a reference for this translation. It's nice that you are putting this up and all, but where are you references? Anyone can look up the language as written and spoken and assume inflection and whatnot, but where is the actual translation guide? If I wanted to say, "I'm going to the store. I'll be right back," where would I find the proper translation for that to learn this to actually learn.

  • I've been struggling since this game's release (and before when I read the GI and noticed the dragon language) to actually figure out this language. I am NOT a linguist. I'd LOVE to learn this. As nerderific as it sounds. What I think really needs to be established here isn't just the writing of the letters and a few words...it's the proper context they need to be used with in a sentence; grammar and phonetics. How does the author of this video know to translate "We come in shadow" to that?

  • I see all the letters but what about numbers like 123...

  • Ok so I'm confused. I don't understand how you get the words into the dragon language. Do you have to translate the word into Latin and then translate it into Dragonish???

  • @SterlingJDub Nah, its a direct translation. The language is a made up language just like any real language, or even some other conlangs like Klingon. If you translated it into Latin, translating it to Dovah would be the same as translating into Hindi, so why bother? I don't understand where you get this other stuff. Maybe you're thinking Dovah is a cipher like Pig Latin, but its a dependent language, created from scratch. Good luck learning the tongue of dragons, Dovahkiin.

  • @marekiller8 I had heard somewhere that it was tied into latin. I still can't figure it out but whatever.

  • @SterlingJDub All you need to do is learn the language in itself. Don't bother with Latin or anything; go to the Elder Scrolls Wiki and look up "dragon language". You'll get the alphabet, a link to download the font (very helpful if you wanna learn that too), and a whole load of words, probably more than two hundred.

  • @SterlingJDub Well, it's not like it's an actual language. It was made for a video game. The creator of the language probably just wrote down the equivalent of what the words mean in English. Then someone, or him, posted it somewhere and people like this guy found it and made this video.

  • Hey guys, now that you all know the dragon language, see if you can figure out what I'm saying (in the Thu'um do fin Dovahs!)

Alduin ke dilon! Aal fin Dovahkiin alok mahfaeraak!

  • Hey guys I just went to EUSP.com or whatever it is and, creating the code from these two videos, came back with some pretty sweet words, translated into dragon language. DragonSun = DovahShuul ShadowBeast = SivaaKun SteelSky = DwinLok BurnSky = AagLok Some sentences- May the Voice guide the king. Aal fin Thu'um aak fin jun. The Dragon beast's wrath burns the world in fire. Fin Dovah sivaas' ao aag fin lein ko yol. The honorable hunter arises in fire. Fin zinahr'k aah alok fin yol.
  • How do you know dovah translates into dragon besides the fact that the game tells you that? And are there only 60 known words in the dragon language? And 1 last thing... I think you to make a video about how to SPEAK the dragon language!!!

  • Thanks for these vids. I found some more online and am really having fun trying to speak the language.

  • i am so going to write my school notes in this XD

  • Suggestion here you should sound them out for people I really want to cuss someone out in dragon(DOV i know that one at most ahah) :3

  • Don't mean to be a troll here, but your information is a bit incorrect, and outdated. Although, the thought behind the videos is what's most important. You just need some more recent information. Head on over to UESP, I'm actually planning on posting all the words that are in the back of the Prima guide, since they put an excellent section on it in the back. Again, great idea, just a bit outdated.

  • @DarkScythe33398 Outdated? It was uploaded almost a month ago so yeah..

  • @SkyrimPages it says krein is both sun and cold

  • @DarkScythe33398 no its not its shit its a shit tuotrial

  • lol... i want to become fluent in Dragon Language! :D

  • Listening to conversations with Paarthurnax, here's what I came up with: ah- Ach, like the german "ch" ii- ee like seen A- ah like in father aa- eh like in yay u- oo like food e- the "e" in them, except or at the end of the word ui- oo-ee like Alduin "Al-doo-een" K's are softer sounding than the English K, more like german ch For words like "Thu'um" or "Su'un", the vowels the apostrophe is separating is pronounced longer. I'm sure there are a lot more rules than this. Let me know
  • @MadeWithPride5656 listening to Paarthurnax for a while as well, would have to agree on some of these, although I do believe only a handful of people do pronounce "Alduin" as "Al-du-een", the rest of them pronounce it as it is spelled Al-du-in. I think this is due to certain accents. I've also paid attention to a few other dragons you interact with such as the one you trap in Dragonsreach, same rules apply to him. So I think you are correct except for the end of the word "ui - oo-ee".

  • hey im making syrim walkthorugh and just wondering what text did you use?

  • Pronounciation is very similiar to the German alphabet.

I think you should pronounce the lettes like this.

I'm not sure about the Norwegian, Swedish and Finish alphabet

but it's defenitely a Germanic language so those are the

most related ones in my opinion.

  • Okay, I know how to write, but how do we know which letter sounds like what?

  • W8 I understand translating our words to dragon. But how do you translate them back so we can know what to say

  • I bet at least one DLC will be more Shouts.

  • I wish someone would make a page for the dragon language on facebook.

  • "The Cold World"? I consider myself a decent scholar of Thu'um, I've done a transcription of the Bleak Falls Barrow word wall seen in the demo videos and posted it in uesp, look for DOVahFeyN on UESP.

  • @DunmeriPride Thanks for everything then ;)

  • @DunmeriPride "A decent scholar of Thu'um"? LOL!

  • @GorehamM20 what exactly warranted this big 'LOL!', might I ask?

  • @DunmeriPride You called yourself a decent scholar of Th'um. Seriously? Please. How can that not make me laugh? Ha!

  • @GorehamM20 and I'll take it that this laughter is derisive and possibly contemptuous because, either you think I have no life for studying Kyne's gift, or you think you can do a better job than me. If the first one's the case ... ruz zu'u lost prem fah mey. If the second one's the case, then feel free to join up with the Imperial Library. You'll find that Skyrim offers books - so take some time off from cleaving skulls and flip through some pages ... leh hin hadrim liiv nol votogaat.

  • @DunmeriPride Hello! I like the way you owned that guy but I am having trouble with saying dovah words I know the odd word but I have no idea bow to pronounce them because I can't find anywhere which shows how to actually say the words or letters in the dovah tongue. Could you help me please?

  • @HickleHop sure, feel free to message me or post a comment on my profile, I'll do my best to help, it's the least I can do for another person with an interest in the Storm Voice.

  • ok i get how to write the language but how do you speak it?

  • @CrazedWhiteGamer using your voice?

  • @CrazedWhiteGamer Thats my problem too.. I think just shout it as hard and viking like as you can..

  • @CrazedWhiteGamer I think you push what ever button is mapped to "dragon shout" on your controller. :P lololol

  • @RubberToadstools I meant in Real Life Bro lol. Like does I in English mean M in Dragon and stuff

  • @CrazedWhiteGamer I know what you meant, I was being a smartass. lol.

And about your question, I guess you would have to ask the guy who made the language, I forgot who it was, in one of the interviews Todd Howard mentions him though.

  • Cool. Only 10 more days!
