  • looks like a churro with foam on the outside

  • The potassium permanganate is reacting with the hydrogen peroxide it's catalysing the decomposition of the hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen gas (which is why there's bubbles). The potassium permanganate is not used in the reaction.

  • it look like oozing puss

  • it looks like instant ice-cream

  • @mrassbandit23 it is basicly highlt bubbled soap, not delicious at all!

  • tóll_ich_weIss_Dàs_géhört_hîËr_ñÏcht_reÏN_äbÈr_Ich_bîñ_àÜf_wás_gEÏlÊs_gÉst0ssëN_sÙcht_mal_åÙf_gÖoglÉ_Nåch:_geldeasy_vÔll_krÃss

  • that was terrible

  • 1 man 1 cup pppppppooooooorrrrrrrrnnnnnnnn

  • It is basically the same reaction if you do it with potassium iodide, isn't it?

  • WHY YOUD SAY DONT TRY THIS AT HOME AND YOUR DOING AT YOUR HOME YOU IDIOT

  • That's sick you can get 30% hydrogen peroxide without ordering it?

  • @Grundalizer Ummm.. here is the Philippines, we sell Hydrogen Peroxide in our drugstores and department stores. I even owned one.

  • this reminds me of 2 girls 1 cup.... back to therapy

  • Is that reactoing where the peroxide bubbles and overflows an exothermic process? At this math and science Camp that I TAed at, the teacher of one of the classes I assisted with mixed peroxide with some kind of magnesium compond, and it started bubbling also, and it also produced heat.

  • @percussionist624 he mixed magnese not magnesium dioxide with peroxide to catalyse the peroxide decomposition

  • Is that reactoing where the peroxide bubbles and overflows an exothermic process? At this math and science Camp that I TAed at, the teacher of one of the classes I assisted with mixed peroxide with some kind of magnesium compond, and it started bubbling also, and it also produced heat.

  • damn looks like 2gz one cup

  • so what is the foam composed of exactly?

  • Ich hoffe ma du hast des KMn=4 auch schö brav in den Schwermetalabfall gemacht :S

Wenn i des im Labor einfach wegschütten würde :o boah das wäöre ein ärger^^

  • I wanted to show this example to my class because the video was very nice until the profanity messed up a perfect example of chemical kinetics. What were you thinking! Please edit your video, so people can see your scientific work.

  • @dxr051656 go to zamzardot com u can steal the video and put a black bar over the profanity i agree with the fact he should have left that bit out

  • oh man.. lol... I thought you were going to fill the drain hole with the stuff so it comes out of it. lol..

  • is that freaking 30% h2O2?????

  • @starshock01 if its food grade you can put 30 on your skin nothing will happen and you can purrify the peroxide by carefully heating since the h2o will evap before h202 but dont do that its dangerous

  • @satansmusic2009 30% h202 is bad for you, even a little will cause alot of damage, realize that the 3% foams on cuts because of part of your blood, i dont want to know what 30% will do to my blood if it spills on my skin and im pretty sure that h202 can be absorbed through the dermis

  • @starshock01 it only foams if you have bacteria but 30% oxegen burns the shit outa you just on skin than it will be like a sunburn and peel away pretty much it royaly ruings your weekend

  • hmmbrauche dringend beschäftigung bin so einsam! Jemand lust zu chatn

  • your cool

  • your cool

  • where can you get potassium permanganate

  • osama bin laden

  • it looks like ols toothpast

  • dude thats what it looks like when i take a shit

  • hey you know what?

if i pour a beer in a glass it foams up too.

  • that means you don't know how to pour a beer

  • try & use a KI catalyst (instead of KMno4) !!!!!

  • nice video...

maybe you could put background music in it:D

  • i saw this in a danish video.. but their they shaked it around and stuff and then it went like 10 meters in the air :D i can probably find it if you wanna know how to make it.. explode q:

  • Elephant's toothpaste!!!! :D

  • now i want a root beer float

  • looks like bad icecream lol

  • The gel that you mad at the end, is that poisnis? Could I pick it up with my hands, or would I have to use gloves?

  • You could use your hands, but it might turn your hands a funny color for a while, so personally I would use gloves.

  • wo kriegt ihr das zeug her ??

  • ich habs trotzdem zu hause gemacht

  • try at home

    ohh... okay!

  • hey, thanks for washin that right down the drain!

  • throw a match into the glass

  • u can buy pure kmno4 crystals from the chemist as well as h2o2 this way u can make the kmno4 solution much more concentrated

  • that awesome

  • can you touch this?

    the soap?

  • you need to do that outside with a five pound bucket

  • geeks, wish one of you geeks could teach my chem class.

  • I can this better too!

  • first one is better );

  • Im pretty sure you know, but if you replace the potassium permanganate with potassium iodine, you get a faster reaction, and the best with it, is that the foam comtains pure oxygen! That experiment is also called elephants toothpaste...

  • that looks like chocolat ice cream shake

  • You shouldn't do chemical reactions near a drain like that.

  • Or while holding a camera.

  • or at home

  • Its not biggie, It will get diluted and be treated, Theres bigger things to worry about.

  • very anti climatic

  • stupid

  • The problem is your using way to much soap it's effecting th chemical balance, so next time put just a bit in.

  • Never seen anything like this!

  • yum!

  • is it flammable

  • no it is not flammable

  • you do it very very bad !!!!

  • @pyrochemik i do what bad?

  • put a match to it!!!

  • omg i should this to my teacher in class and it says fuck

  • mother fucker why is all the bad stuff looks so damn good?!

  • it look delicious. lol

  • i can eat that shit

  • warning do not try this at home so what do they do they tell you how to make it and show you how cool the explosion is. NICE!

  • yeah, it looks like ice cream :P

Beide Stoffe reagieren miteinander.

    MfG

  • 2:33 - Its not a dick :)

  • this is stupid.....get a life and some balls dude

  • "FUCK" lol

  • 1:10 icecream :D

  • dont listen to these people about "Make something blow up!" that's not what chemistry is all about.

  • Rubbish. You can do quite more than stupid smoke, boom or something like that with chemistry.

  • Bor or or ing

  • make soemthign blow up nexttime man

  • 2girls1cup moment, LOL

  • Looks liek choco ice cream...

  • 2girls1cup :]

  • you should have added a catalyst like Kl

  • what happens if you touch it :]

  • chockolate moose

  • looks tasty

  • what did u use for that stuff

  • read the title :P

  • kinda anti-climactic...

  • use potassium iodide it works better =)

  • that is so Awesome!Try to fill it whit hydrogen and let it go in the sky!everyone would think that its some kind of an alian!!!Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

  • kool lol

  • Just so you know, some people call it elephant toothpaste

  • Elephant toothpaste usually uses KI but only because it is a better catalyst for H202 decomposition into water and oxygen.

  • looks like chocolate ice cream

  • I used to think Nitrogen Triodide was exciting stuff when I was a kid and I also made silver acetylide from silver nitrate solution and acetylene gas which was 'FUN' too. I did have a small unplanned explosion making nitro glycerine once when I was about 14. Back then I could buy nitric acid and red phosphorus for just pennies.....I'm 77 and wouldn't even know where to get the stuff now!

  • I think over all Hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate is a harmless experiment for anyone to try, Its only a catalyst reaction and nothing else. Their is no explosion involved in it and it is safe to demonstrate. I am talking about the diluted Hydrogen peroxide and not the concentrated one.

  • I agree it is safe! Technically, it's not a catalytic reaction since both the permanganate and the peroxide are used up in the reaction. The peroxide is actually oxidized by the permanganate to form water and oxygen.

  • you took 3 min of my life and i want them back

  • Cool cool....But DONT try this at home??? It looks like f***in ice cream.

  • Lol u should try and feed it to your lil sister as ice cream...

or put some of the first shit in your dads coffe and replace milk with the second thing:p

  • psh ok XD

  • record it and post it on youtube:p i'll net you get 10 billion views:p

  • You talking to wadd654h736? Or me?

  • to u lol im not really into spambots:p

  • LOL ok. I'll post that shiz up! :P

  • Im intrigued to find out how you obtained hydrogen peroxide because its rather difficult to find, contary to this i loved the experiment

  • any drug store around here carries it...

  • gay you want somthin real fun try muriatic acid + 5 drops of chlorine + aluminum foil. The foil effing liquidizes and heats to like 200 frekin degrees.

  • Great.... Foam it makes me want a rootbeer foat real bad, if u want some chemical reactions search " Real Chemical Reactions" part 2 will release by the 20th

  • hhahah "ok i can this better"

  • I hate when people see a chemical that can be used in explosives and think "Terrorist!" Just because some chemicals *can* be explosives doesn't mean that's all they're good for. PETN is also a heart medicine, and you can technically make a "bomb" out of baking flour.

  • yep .. the latest hype over peroxide is crap. Tri-acetate peroxide is hard to make and a crap explosive, requires a ice bath and if the temperature is out the end product dosen't work. Hardly something that could be made in a aircraft toilet as claimed by the media.

  • holy crap that was cool

  • hydrogen peroxide , Terrist use this to make Bombs :( Stay away and dont use this stuff ! If the police find you got 50 L of it your get Shot !

  • hydrogen peroxide can be used to produce explosives. But you can use it fore muche more it is part of many cleaning agents and a verry powerful disinfectant. In Germany you can by hydrogen peroxide in every pet shop, drugstore ore do-it-yourself store.

  • First of all how do you know that terrorists use H2O2 ? , also hydrogen peroxide is not illegal, you can buy them from pharmacies or even order a higher concentration of it online. Hydrogen peroxide is use in some synthesizers of making explosives. Also why do you think they sell Hydrogen peroxide for disinfectants ?

  • jasonony is confusing hydrogen peroxide with something else. Mixing KMnO4 + H2O2 makes oxygen. To make a "bang" you need something for the oxygen to react with. H2O2 is just like any other source of oxygen.

  • what was the black goo?

  • what is "OK i know better?" you are forgiven, on the fact that you're german.

  • Wanna have some real action? Use a few drops of glycerine on a small pile of pottassium permanganate. I used to do this when I was a Kid! Have fun with resulting spontanious combustion.

  • If you find 60% hydrogen peroxide or more, put a metal in it!

The only thing that you must NOT mix with it is acetone, it makes toxic red fumes and the crystals made from the reaction are very sensitive and might blow ur arm off!

  • I know wath happens if I mix aceton and hydrogen peroxide.

I had much of chemistry on the university.

  • ROFL!

  • Well great job, you exposed a lot of information that you will get stupid kids that would try it out. You do know that you can get Hydrogen peroxide quiet easy through pharmacies and acetone can be bought from nail polish cleaners. Anyways, this is an explosive called Acetone Peroxide.

  • Hey

  • try this: use bleach (sodium hypochlorite) and hydrogen peroxide and see what happens

  • in germany it is not legal to sale hypochlorites on privat persons

  • You really can't buy household bleach?

How does mother get the whites white?

How do you disinfect the country?

(ans: many ways, but no Islam jokes, please)

  • You should know that Sodium hypochlorite and Calcium Hypochlorite are both pool use chlorine products. You can obtain them easier then you thought.

  • Doch xD

  • whats the point of this...ar eyou going to build a rocket?

  • i want to see someone poke it

  • I have already tried this before.I put some potassium permanganate and Hydrogen peroxide and it would just release alot of gases. Although i dont know why yours poped in the beginning.

  • nah, i tried to light it on fire, it does not do much.

  • that because he was talking about the very first part of the video, not the last 4 experiments

  • higher is the concentration, stronger is the reaction

  • lol. my lab partners learned that today. One got glass all over his face, and the other got his entire body pierced. Shits dangerous

  • Thats because the Hydrogen peroxide is not concentrated and it is diluted in water with less concentration.

  • looks like toothpaste

  • Hence the Experiments nick name, Elephants Toothpaste :D

  • No that is no elephant toothpaste, Elephant toothpaste is made from both Hydrogen peroxide plus Potassium iodide. this is potassium permanganate with H2O2

  • Yes you can do the same experiment with postassoim iodide, but the elephants toothpaste experiment is normally done with potassium permanganate. They both act as a catalyst. Also H202 is Hydrogen Peroxide.

    Do your research :D

  • No Potassium permanganate is not as good as potassium iodide in this experiment, stop putting all my comments on thumb down, thats just childish.

  • As you can see nitrex, there are two of your comments with a -2 there the ones i voted down as i disagree with them, plus your most recent comment.

The point you made was that it couldent be done with potassium permanganate, Also what does it matter as long as it achieves the expected outcome.

  • Lmao nice. I LOVE CHEMISTRY

  • if you use KI it will work faster and better

  • I only used low concentrated chemicals. If some one use high concentrated chemicals it would also work faster. But this is dangerous. I am careful with chemicals.

This reaktion can by used in rockets and both chemicals are caustic. If you have too high concentrated chemicals it would by like a explosion. Not funny if you be a few steps from ther.

  • I have already done this experiment before, its nothing new, its just like a catalyst reacting very quickly. Try Potassium permanganate + Glycerin, you should have a good purple flame.

  • hydrogen peroxide+potassium permanganate were used in the worlds first Messerschmitt 163 Komet rocket powered airplane. the part which said dont try at home was that same reaction used in 1944.with that, you can build your rockets.

  • You realize you can light that on fire, right?

  • LOL that's awesome.

  • put it in a bucket lmao with 3 of ea bottle lmao

  • there iz a better way of doin this easier. if u wanna know just send me a message cuz i g2g
