@dgilaaa I've picked apart the file, its MIDI...kinda. You can extract the midi resource in the file and save it as the text file with an extension of .mid and it will play in a standard midi player, but with just beeps and boops and the timing off. Somehow, the application takes the midi, and plays the sound samples in the file. SimCity 2000 for the Mac uses the same format for playing the songs.
It sounds like MOD music.

@mattcintosh2 so, this version is using a very good midi soundfont for samples,.. that's why the sound is so clear.

Sounds exactly like the SNES version.
I like the high-res graphics on the Mac and I especially loved the Shift key for fast forwarding.
