This is the best piano arrangement I've heard so far for Air...you added a very rich depth to it. Its not watered down & too subtle like most others I've heard. Keep it up!

hey, come on... i read the discussion again, and i didn´t say that she sucks or anything that bad. just saying that there are some details that could be improved...

i really don´t know if she is a famouse player or something, i jsut saw this video and thought that i could make a little recommendation of what i learned to be better for any pianist. if i´m talkin to someone really important, i don´t know.

any serious pianist would be glad to hear the oppinions of other pianists or any comment that would make them better at what they do. at least I am glad when someone takes the time to say: hey, maybe you could improve in this or that, and many of my piano playing friends too. probably many of you got mad because you don´t play the piano or you are to narrow minded to accept someone elses opinions

WTF does it matter how she is playing? It sounds beautiful and she plays well. I am in the early stages of learning the piano and you adopt your own manner of play just like everthing else we undertake in life - we all do it in our own way. Doing everything by the book does not always work for some people - what is right for some may not be right for others.

Lovely piece of music and I adore the works of JS Bach.

Let me educate you...FYI-there are many ways to play the piano--some people may have heath issues that prevent them from being able to play correctly so they do what works for them. I play the piano too and quite good at it--however I have problems w/ my hands/wrist--I do what works for me!!

well, it´s true that everyone has different ways of playing the piano, but it´s undeniable that there are some issues realted to some details that are the same for everyone else. those detailes are a sum of all that has been learned in the last 400 years of music and that has proven to give pianists an incredible technical capability.

but there is a problem with what you said that is typical here in youtube:

@feuerkavalier : Ahem ahem ahem. It is spelled "t-e-c-h-n-i-Q-u-e." And there's nothing wrong with it. Speaking as a classically trained pianist of 21 years. And, yes, there are definitely "details" that make a person a better pianist. It helps if you have solid training and technique. Which I say she must. It's called "artistic liscense". Means the way you play is an extension of your SELF. NOT staunch-sounding, unfeeling, rehearsed. And this is a composition. Not the original piece.

try to improve the possition of your hands or it´s going to bother you when you start playing more complicated things.

your wrist should be at least a little higher, and it should never be below the level of your fingers

It depdns on the piece. and how you want to play it. piano is pure phisics. if your wrist is up and down the directional force that moved the keys will be wasted. seems your shoulder is high, lower you chair. your arms distant from your body like there is a small size ball is in between. this will let your hand to roll from your elbow to left and right covering the whole piano. and .............. ,

playing piano is not only phisics, it involves a great deal o logic and analisis if you really want to be a pianist instead of a piano player.

anyway, it involves phisics, and it there are some technical aspectas that can´t be changed. for example, see all that wrist movements?? waste of energy.

how her wrist is below the keys at some parts? since most of the energy comes from your backs muscles, it can´t be transfered to your playing. you won´t get the right sound nor the right dinamics of playing.

it doesn´t seem to matter in this piece since it´s arranged to sound good for poeple who don´t know much about music, but if you are really interested in playing the piano instead of just showing off, you would care about this stuff
