That kind of gimp ass question is that lol.. ok so based on that question you have an empty alienware case. No, I'm sorry a POS overpriced Alienware Case will not play EQ2 no problem. Unless of course this case has some spec's. =)
@ace10hunter29 your not the only one ... the early days of this mmorpg really really rocked .. these days im playing Rift.. but who knows one day i may install Eq2 again ... or just wait a few years for eq3
@lmwallace03 Alienware is an overpriced version of Dell... components which will fail 1 month after warranty if that. Not to mention, "Alienware" is the shell term for the computer, not the specs. I could say I have an Intel and leave it at that, but mean I have an old 700.
If you want a real gaming machine, go to a proper computer store and get one built. Its cheaper, more powerful and will last. (you could build it yourself to make it even cheaper)
@Luciffrit Yea my brothers Alienware has the same specs as my computer from Pc Specialist, but his cost £300 more, haha. Plus my case's cooling seems to be better also.
@todraidvideos not yours, yours is default profitUI, im talking abot the video this comment is on, exact same setup as wow, 2 hotbars stacked along the entire bottom, and 2 on the sides as well
I uploaded this video back in the day. Used to be what I used for my healer setup (seperating out healing, rezzing, dps, debuffing and misc item bars). I still have never played WOW though heheh. Now, my healer setup looks just like my Coercer setup does. =)
Like I said in my previous comments on my other quality videos its not gonna matter about the video card too much. EQ2 is processor based rendering. The faster the CPU you have the better fps you are gonna get. But the graphics card I have is a 9800GTX+ 1GB card. Aim for a 4ghz processor for the best results.
Stock speed you would have good performance, but would get better if you overclock it slightly, 64-bit system so you can utilize more than 3GB of ram of course is a given and a mid ranged gfx card and you would get high quality performance.
Im not familiar with the i7 capabilities with CPU intensive applications but I would assume that speed is still a factor over efficiency in this case. But Im not really too sure. EQ2 performs best with a processor speed close to 4ghz remember.
Can i play EQ2 on extreme quality with AA and AF in any zone apart from when raiding with an I7 920 at stock speed (2.66ghz), 6gb ddr3 ram underclocked to 1066mhz, gtx 285, 19 inch monitor but will upgrade to 22 inch soon, plus windows vista 64 bit? Thanks
Probably close but not without some studder here and there, you might not be able to get as high FPS if you dont OC the processor closer to 4ghz. If you can get 3.5 or 3.6 out of it, it would be better. But Honestly a i7 board under 3ghz is kind of a waste imo tbh. No offense.
Thats because your processor is shit. You need a 3ghz or higher processor to improve framerate. Your graphics card aint doing nothing for that. EQ2 is CPU rendered for 90% of the game. Improve your CPU speed and get 4GB of ram...
@todraidvideos yes I know that but what I was trying to say is that, playing on high settings without lags ( very very rare having any lag )with this CPU and this RAM is a miracle, I was expecting playing this game on very high performance only.
@nfsdanz 9 months old but hell, i lol'd so hard at the reply from the uploader... Seriously why the hell would you need to overclock an i7-920 to play this game?! It has 4 cores, each running at 2.66ghz which act like 8?! The recomended processor speed is a single core 2.0ghz v.v
You are a fucking moron.. EQ2 doesnt support multiple cores beyond 2 cores and even then it only offloads select animations to a second core. Recommended speed is NOT for MAX QUALITY settings. Even in game there is a warning that adjusting to MAX could make the game unplayable on some systems. Processor speed is a direct correlation to render speed for CPU driven games. Don't spit back I7 just because you know the NAME of a CPU... that doesnt mean shit.
@todraidvideos I was not making out that i knew anything other than it had multiple cores and is an extremely fast processor.
Well thank you for giving me this knowledge on how EQ2 works, I will be sure to keep it in mind. Anyway, I'm sure this knowledge will prove invaluable in later life.
there is no two ways about it.. its gameplay is amazing, and the visual context of eq2 is unrivaled.... its biggest problem is low server populations, but thats it. Without a doubt the most involved and brilliant game i ever played. wish i had time to go back and play it
Most of the servers have peak hours that are quite populated. My server, Permafrost is heavy from afternoon to midnight, then drops down in the wee hours.
You cant get a solid FPS when you also run fraps because fraps downgrades your FPS to 30 fps MAX only. When I am ingame in overland zones its between 45-60 fps. What you see now and then is a stutter in the video recording not in the game.
Extreme Quality is not the max setting. Most people are unaware, but you can go in and manually turn things up quite a bit more than the default Extreme Quality settings.
It should. As far as the quality goes, which FX model were you looking at? More computers should be able to handle the graphics now as the recent update to the game you can choose to send all SHADOWS to the GPU instead of the CPU.
Looks good but a bit on the dark side. Try putting a torch on your character to illuminate things around him more. That will make his surroundings light up better, especially in dungeons like stormhold. Also note the time of day you decide to record. Outdoor videos look best when done at about 12 noon to 3 p.m. in game time. Try Tenebous Triangle in the afternoon, it looks great. What motherboard are you using?
extreme quality eq2 in 360p.... wonderful...
