  • In other words, "I'll pay double the cost to have someone else do some rather simple work and receive my aesthetically pleasing computer in a nice white container."

  • WTF. I thought these were parody sketches. These were UK Ads? At least I know why they aren't as funny as I had hoped.

  • I don't see how being usable right out of the box counts as a valid point, when obviously the lifespan of your computer will be for at least a couple of years.

  • buhu you have to wait 1 hours tops to get your PC running before you can use it..

the only pro i see with a Mac is that if a part in your computer breaks, all you have to do is throw it away and buy a new one... not like a PC where you have to take the broken part out, buy a new one, put it back in and install it...

sure its several thousand euros cheaper, but hell, not worth the trouble

    sarcasm off

  • @FoolMeTwice1990 bullshit.. if anything in a mac breaks.. the apple store replace it, free of charge.

  • @FoolMeTwice1990 and an hour? i was running my macbook within 5 mins of opening it.

  • I would buy David Mitchell. I don't even care that I'd have to put him together and install his drivers before I could use him! That's all part of the magic of anticipation, my friends.

  • My Mac does all I need it to, has never let me down, and it looks pretty. End. Of. Argument.

  • @looopdalooop1992 My PC does all that too. not much of an argument you have going here?

  • PC World did all the setup for me, I have to just pick it up and plug it in.

  • You know what also works straight out of the box? FISHER PRICE TOYS :D

Macs: Fisher Price's My First Computer.

  • when i bought my acer aspire pc, i could use it straight out of the box.

  • Lol whoever reads the manual, especially for a computer

  • Lying adverts from apple, fuck you steve jobs.

  • @gazthefunky39 respect steve jobs! hes not here anymore.

  • @Taking1n1 No respect for him in life, why should I have respect for him now he's dead? Go fuck yourself.

  • @gazthefunky39 seriously, it's like you don't care that apple has lost their CEO.

  • @Taking1n1 Why would I care that a huge multinational with more money than the American government has lost their CEO? But anyway they never, he had retired before he died. People said you could compare him to Thomas Edison or Einstein? His best idea by far was the usb charger, not quite the same or as revolutionary as the light bulb or motion picture camera. He was, like apple, all hype, I'm glad hes gone because I'm sick of watching him sell shit that's already been done and taking the credit.

  • @gazthefunky39 stfu

  • @Taking1n1 Fuck me I was talking to Shakespeare, that the best you could come up with? My apple experiences, thought hhhm give an iphone a go, got a 3g. Lost and missing calls constantly, losing home network setting constantly, no video with out an app, no mp3 ring tones, shit itunes software, 2 sets of busted head phones. Mac book, first experience Photoshop crashed , then the mouse stopped working and weighs a fucking ton. Mac and ste jobs = shite. Media hyped consumer bullshit.

  • Everyone thinks Robert is the cool one... I disagree... David is much cooler.

  • Drinking the iKool-Aid

  • MMMM I love when apple won't let me use my own hardware that I paid for! Yes that's why my iPhone is totally not jailbroken.

Sure is nice when they dictate what I can do with my property.

  • I wish people actually knew anyhting about computers. First off, you dont need to do half the shit he's tlakign about. Only old ass ones do that, and guess what? it okay because it was OLD. we have the windows 7 now, shit is fresh and ready to go as soon as you take it out the fukkin box. Im tired of these punk ass computer wannabees having an opinion you dont know shit about how awesome the PC is.

  • Funnily enough, after ten minutes of unpackaging, my pc was ready to run. I downloaded firefox and bam, I was on the net chatting to my mates again. Never myself downloaded a single driver, although I'm sure my computer has for me. But I like updates, they fix things so I'm not complaining.

As for viruses, haven't had one since I bought it half way through last year. I'm sure that's because of the extra 100 dollars I spent on norton. Good thing the pc was so CHEAP.

  • @InspiredNoob Honestly, no.

  • @InspiredNoob I only don't have any balls.

  • @InspiredNoob If they have to translate the manuals to every language available, then it's nothing more than logical.

  • Vista to W7: Get the same with a new theme for € 129,99.

Leopard to Snow Leopard: Get the same with a few new features for € 29,99.

Gnome 2.x to Gnome 3.0: Get something totally new for free.

  • Simply put : If you enjoy S. Jobs penis in your mouth then buy a mac for all your computing needs. If for some reason you do not like mr.Jobs genitalia anywhere around your mouth then please buy yourself a PC

  • I've had enough experiences with macs to know that they can do nothing that windows can't... +Everything else you can do with windows.

  • I have a Mac and a PC. I like them both. Can't we all just get along?

  • I bought an Alienware...i had the thing up and running in about 7 minutes....and i was playing Team Fortress 2 in about an hour.

  • People presume that on a mac you can just instantly edit video and create music e.t.c. to an awesome level. Not true. Thats like saying you can make a feature length with windows movie maker. Its not going to happen. To do anything creative on a mac you need either pro studio for music or final cut for video. Same as you would need the adobe studios for a pc. Both types cost near enough £900, the video editing softwares anyway....

  • if you have grown up using a PC then you don't need to read the PC manual but you do need to read the Mac manual.

  • @4at4ish what! really if you have thumbs you can use a mac, i have been working on PC's since the 80s built my first computer in 1992

macs run efficient and are more stable

  • Dude... i just realized... were all sitting here, watching commercials... for enjoyment. wow

  • @FlaggedWizard yeah but we're never going to buy the product, so it's ok.

  • Mac/PC battles are boring. I came here for Mitchell and Webb. ;)

  • yes Macs can get viruses but it is quite rare unless you go to obvious virus sites that have taken the time to write a program that Macs can read which not many people are willing or patient enough to do.

  • for some reason mac always wants to create home movies and photo albums. i never did or wanted to create one of those. what's the point of a computer that can only create photo albums anyway.

  • Comment removed

  • Basically all these adverts boil down to is that macs are a better choice ...

if your too stupid to work a PC properly.

  • Make a movie, create a website....PC can do both for free without paying for the extra software like mac

  • @MephistosFury trollface.jpg

  • I was about to write an indignified rant on how PC's are easy to set up, and how Apple are using rather pedantic arguements to advertise their Macs, but then I realised, They are just computers.

  • Windows 7 just *works* out of the box. FAIL.

  • I love seeing people argue about Mac and PC, it's like the God story, never ending LOL. Until one COMPLETELY owns the other in every gap, it'll go on forever. In 10 years time I reckon that is one of two possibilities, the other being Windows and Apple teaming up to make some kind of fusion computer.

  • @GeorgeyBoy13 Mac's can already run windows on them if you really want to (eg gaming)

  • @RobCGodin I know they can, what I meant is the two of them making an actual computer and operating system together.

  • Out of the Box! *clap clap* Out of the Box! Anyone remember that show?

  • baby can use PC without reading instructions -.-

  • All i did was buy my pc and plug it in.

  • Get it all with WINDOWS LIVE ESSENTIALS!!!!!! There is nothing to compete with GarageBand, but you can spend $30 to get something decent, and as for Movie Maker you can spend around $50 for the Roxio or Nero suite, or just buy a standalone product for like $60. Even after both those payments my PC was $1,000 less than a similarly equipped Mac. So shut up Apple!

  • ok, dumb ad, i started using my hp mini just out of the box, stop lying about thinks everybody knowns, why buy a 20% extra cost mac for my home, mac its for multimedia works, its not an office or home pc, im tired of 13 years old kids using a 1700usd mac for listening to music.. insane due, i got mac for my photo edition and graphic desing and 3 pcs (2 windows 7 and 1 XP) and my hp mini (my every were pc) for my every day use

  • Fanboy debates bore me so. So here we go.

First off for macs, Pros are the fact its ready from when you open the box and everything is just where you want it. video editing photo editing etc. Very easy.

Downsides not customiseable MACS DO GET VIRUSES LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!! (fanboys suck at lying)

Pc pros, easy to customise so the system does what YOU want. Software is considarabley cheaper, Gaming.

Downsides, crashes (Vista esp) Viruses and driver updates.

  • @hawkwreak

I have Vista and my computer have never crashed.

My friend got 7 and his computer crashes like 2 times a month.

7 is Vista in a new scale and with some new features for 200$.

  • @Ericnorify oh your friend did? amazing, as i have had 7 do a proper crash once in a year of hardcore use and that was due to old graphics drivers.

  • @feedingear Im just telling my experience and my opinion.

  • @feedingear I'm just telling my experience asshole.

  • @Ericnorify your wrong?

  • @Ericnorify Did you donate your PC from Justin Bieber?

My Windows Vista PC crashed a fuckton, even on NOTEPAD.

With Windows 7, that has fucking changed - less crashes, sexier Aero and most of my drivers were preinstalled, that weren't in Vista.

    Also from IT Crowd:

"What kind of operating system does it use?"

    "It's uhh VISTA!"

    "WE'RE GOING TO DIE."

  • Comment removed

  • @Ericnorify by the time they fixed it, nobody cared anymore.

just like with windows me back in the day.

  • @Ericnorify I crashed all the time in Vista, but now i have windows 7 and it works like a dream.

  • @hawkwreak Actually Macs have driver updates too, they just come with the patches from apple which ensures they are well tested on apple hardware. Driver updating for 3rd party hardware is just as risky as on a PC.

/Happy mac user, but no fanboy.

  • @hawkwreak Lol, I tried Mac OS X 10.5.6 iPC on my Compaq and I had to install kexts for it. But that's very unfair - it's not a proper Mac. But I see your point.

  • @hawkwreak I got a PC laptop recently and it was ready straight of the box.

  • @hawkwreak Not strictly true about drivers, if you don't add new hardware, then you will not need to update drivers, and if it's new hardware (3 years) then you don't need to update drivers.

Mac's do crash just as PC's do as well.

One of the key differences is, Apple tells you a lot of rubbish which isn't true whats so ever.

  • @hawkwreak

Yup, thats basically the only difference, what most people don't realize is that macs and PC's use basically the SAME (or very similar) hardware in most cases and all that's different is the software.

PC's are more customizable and somewhat harder to maintain

Macs are easier to use but they're all quite generic and samey.

Up to buyers to decide what they want in a computer.

Personally I'm a PC laptop, but Apple phones...

Some sort of bastard child of Computing lol.

  • Macs were made for stupid people, ease of use, with limited upgrades/configurations.

  • agreed and u make my point and i have many other reasons

  • This isn't a bad thing fanboys, it's their business model, which is why lot's of people like them.

Most mac users can't fathom ever wanting to put in a vew video card, or upgrading their ram.

Macs started with one mouse button for a reason, simplicity for simple people. It's just too bad they're overpriced, considering how quickly they become outdated.

  • I've been using Macs for my whole life. I have also been using PCs for about half as long (in school and such). For the things that I use the computer for, a Mac suits my purposes better. For others, PCs suit their needs. Everyone has different needs. For some, those needs are suited with a PC, others with a Mac. Both systems have advantages and disadvantages over each other, and neither is better than the other. So, quit your 'my computer is better than yours' and get on with your lives, okay?

  • ok, im not into debates and stuff, but i will play along. Macbook pro costs about $2000 dollars with 4 gigs of ram, and 2.4 gig processor. My toshiba with windows vista costs $800 dollars and has the same processing speed and ram. Yes macs don't get viruses, but a good protection software for 3 years costs $180 dollars. Which adds uo to about $980. All computers are usually replaced every 3 years because of the short lifespan, so which is the better deal, $980 vs. $2000 over a 3 year period?

  • i am talking about laptops, although this could also be used in a desktop arguement aswell. I am also avoiding the fact that macs cannot play most games and need to buy a seperate program for that wich needs to be open in order to play the game taking up processor speed making the bitchin 2.4 gig processor into a 2.0 gig, slowing game preformance. macs in my opinion are overpriced.

  • macs last much longer than PC's in my experience. I know people who still use the original e-macs for proffesional use.

also, Google's chromium OS is coming out soon. computers using that will have a life span as long as it's hardware lasts, as it in itself is a browser and is made for people who use thier computers for mainly browsing.

  • Amen to that!! 99% of PC users who come here ranting how their PCs are better, and Macs are crap are just jealous they can't afford one...

  • Or they want to save that 1500 they wont be spending on a mac pro and spend it on adobe creative suite 4 production premium. maybe....

  • @mackawy well the thing is everyone in the world isnt wealthy like you

  • It's not about being as wealthy, it's about not being as dumb. What he wrote is nothing more than overt ignoance.

  • No, we just don't want to shit away our money, when better equipment with more options to upgrade/customize arewidely available.

    Get fucking real pal

  • keep telling yourself that :)

  • I'm not telling myself anything, these are facts backed up the products themselves. Have you ever compared anything, or read the specs?

  • Yes I have, extensively actually, and concluded that the 10, 15% extra paid for a mac compared to a comparable pc is worth it. I can get into a discussion about that, but I know there's no winners when stubbornness prevail.. so all I'll say is 80% of PC "lovers" would run to a mac store and buy a mac if they can afford it. and Till they can, they'll just go on you tube, watch Mac adds and bash it :)

  • @mackawy PC "lovers" watch these videos for the same reason as Mac "lovers". They're funny. If you're trying to say that all PC user's who watch this are here to bash it, you are ignorant. I could just as easily say that all Mac users watching this are just watching it to boost their self-esteem and to reassure themselves that it was a good purchase.

    lol 80%? Nice statistic.

  • @mackawy Prove it.

  • Seriously, mac needs to get over itself.

All these commercials are, are bashing videos.

I have a PC and have never had a single problem with it.

  • Wanna be my PC buddy? I have the same views as you. My cousin had 3 macs, I've had 1 PC. Same amount of time we've owned them. Guess which one ran the best?

  • LMAO, I have had PC my entire life, the most problems I've had is my laptop doesn't have enough memory for all my music.

With PC if the battery craps out, you just go pay 50$ for a new battery, with MAC you have to take it into the store, wait a month, and then pay out the ass just for a new battery.

I say mac is good, simply because there are a lot of graphic design programs and music making programs which my friends use to make music. Either than that, they are snobby crap.

  • You can replace a mac battery just as easy as a pc laptop and they last longer, the new ones up to 7 houres and over 1000 charges! There is much more to mac then just making music and movies. the fact that you have been on pc all your life and never had a mac says you cant talk about macs...you dont know what its like to use one or own one. go find someone local who has one and ask to see what its like

  • UHM I have lots of friends who use macs. I have no use for one, I like PC, I don't like MAC, and I have used one. In numerous schools and they have been shit in my eyes. Get over yourself about using a mac, it does not make you superior. And I know you can replace a battery, but you have to take it into the store and wait for them to do it and pay out the ass for it. Macs are expensive and PC's are for normal people. Most companies still use PC.

  • most mac people dont say THEY personally better, just the computer works better! and umm NO you DONT have to bring it into the store! i can take my bat right out and change it if i need. i can also get right to my hard drive and ram without too much trouble. so you ARE WRONG there! if you dont like mac, thats YOU. PCs are for BROKE people who cant pay for a mac or arent smart enough to buy used! My mac runs better then ANY windows computer ive used or seen! GET OVER YOUR SELF!

  • also, if there was no PC over 600bux i might agree macs cost too much, but as there ARE PCs over$1,000 they ARENT! there just isnt as many models out there. NO low end macs, just HIGH END! no you have less to think about, do i get the mac with everything or with even more everything! i can get a slow crappy walmart pc that with 2 houres bat life that will crash and fail or i can get a GOOD Mac for more money. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Mac= Mercedes PC=Ford. and umm ALOT of companies use Mac!

  • Mac!

  • no trail software on my new pc....thats odd...and it worked like a charm when I PLAYED SOME FUCKING GAMES!

  • When i got my vista i had it up and running and on the internet in just over an hour.

  • I had mine up and running in 10 minutes.

  • an hour really, ALL macs can get online RIGHT away. it takes 2 min to put in your info then BAM it is ready to go. thats it! no removing anything no setting up anything. it just WORKS right away! while you were setting up your vista crap and stopping it from asking you if its ok to do EVERYTHING i was editing movies jamming tunes and posting anti-pc comments! lets hope that new virus doesnt get you...glad i dont have to worry

  • actually, my new computer had everything but microsoft office already on it. i didn't have to do anything but set that up and the printer which i would have had to do on a mac.

  • actually newer macs run right away with most printers so all you have to do is plug it in and it works! take it from someone who HAS a mac, i know what you DO and DONT have to do on it.

  • well...idk it was a printer/fax/copier/scanner. i really doubt it had the driver for it. :)

  • @PennMu307PDT oh I have something like that too, as soon as I plugged it into my Mac it searched for drivers and installed, I printed my paper right away without having to fuss over a cd like when I installed it onto my PC

  • "Most" being the keyword. In my experiences Windows will do the same for compatible hardware. I personally have 2 printers which will not run with Mac OS X.

  • Lol UK and your silly commercials XD

  • yea really, fuck apple

  • Apple are dumb

  • apple is dumb

  • It really helps your argument when your say Apple ARE dumb

  • sounds more like YOU are dumb.

  • i think mitchell and webb are good but pc is way better than mac

  • american version is way better

  • I disagree

  • mitchell and webb rule

  • It is Sept. 8, 2009 so when my comment is out dated....

MAC is for home and fun stuff, but the big boys use PC and fun stuff too.

It is funny, at my college and my city police department have bought MACs for a lot of offices...

but guess what they run...yup, windows XP pro. Said enough. MAC is for babies, that why they play that baby music.

Computer nutz like me love PCs because they are customizable and upgradable.

    Again, big boys use PCs.

  • To tronbonedude...

So you think "big boys" use PC's. Almost every computer engineering doctorate student at my university owns a mac, along with all the professors. Tell them that.

  • To Sandman4432:

IBM / the guys that make super-computers prefer linux over mac. Here is what they prefer when it comes to perfomance : Linux, PC, Mac

The reason why you use mac may be because of some free software.

  • @shplaaaa to only reason "guys who make super-computers" use Linux is because you literally need to make a job of working one. It is NOT set up for commercial use. So, you counter my point with an invalid comment. Mega Nerds that make super computers use Linux because it is an open OS that they can do whatever they want to. Then they use Windows (because the term PC refers to Personal Computer...which mac started you tard) only because Apple had the bright idea to fire Jobs for 11 years.

  • @shplaaaa and while being fired Microsoft built a monopoly which Apple is slowly crushing now that Jobs is back in the game. So yea....the reason I use a Mac has nothing to do with "free" anything. We pay for what we get and I pay for quality. (mind you I build my own Windows Desktops but all my other products are Apple. Just cant really get around not using Windows now a-days that easy).

  • i'm not an apple fan but i'm not a microsoft fan either. back when the G4 was still out, there was some company that had thousands of macs for their servers and it was faster than most major windows servers. and your city police dept is retarded for paying that much money for a mac and then paying more money to put windows on it. and people who REALLY like to customize computers and the REAL big boys like google run linux, not windows

  • i agree

  • 0:04 he looks really retarded.

  • sorry i thinks its 0:03 or 0:02

  • Is the setup really that important. I have a macbook pro, but couldn't care less about setting it up. As long as the actual computer works well, why should I care about set up when I;m deciding?

  • they have different advanteges like mac has stuff but u can easly download it from online to a PC plus u can play teh games

  • I have an imac, and bing bang bosh, ready to go, just like that, :D with a PC your there for ages plugging in loads of crap lol 2 plugs on mac, the mains, and the keyboard, mouse plugs into keyboard. I love macs I still use PC's but I prefer macs.

  • but how many options with speakers etc do you have? and what about usb?

  • USB? u have usb sockets in the keyboard, and at the back, and if you need more you can always get an external socket? But I found I dont need more than I have. Speakers, its built in and sounds amazing, especially when I am editing my films, I can really hear the sound and not need headphones for it to be clearer, and with DVDs the sound is beautiful

  • mac arent better then PC i have bought of them

  • @MyMMC Great Grammer!

  • @hockeyman55 wow you write on a year old commend...

    and sorry for my grammar...

    im swiss...

    or can u speak German?

    i think not

  • @hockeyman55 haha irony...

    grammar*

  • ahh i see some of me comes in other boxes...LOL too cute!!!

  • These are nice CMs but I like the Japanese versions more Mr PC and Mac are more friendly and respectful of each other (so are the comments *looks down comment section in horror*) lol

  • lol, i have a mac and i play all the games i want, by a simple bootcamp or vmware or parallels. you ignorant and monkey cheescake kidda. if you like cables and dust, enjoy it and put it in your back. i have an imac and a clean desktop, and a computer better than yours.

  • i too have an imac, but all the games i want to play are already mac software. all my games are Spore, The Sims, and RCT 3

  • umm, yes you can. in fact its even easier to upgrade on a mac than on a pc. you just pointed out one of macs triumphs over pc

  • It's all preference, you're not unique if you buy any product. I PERSONALLY prefer mac because of the problems I had with vista. But you can use a PC, who gives a shit. If you have to argue and bully people into taking sides, you need to get a life. I sure a multi-million dollar corporation can defend itself and doesn't need some fanboy crusader to fight its battles.

  • if Windows made attack ads like these (which is all they are by the way and totally untrue and unbiased) there would be many more solid arguments and reasons that made sense to buy a PC rather than a Mac

(by the way it's much nicer to PERSONALIZE your own PC profile than to have a totally un-unique Mac procuct with 10million just like it out there)

  • keep dreaming

  • you want the perfect computer do yourself a favor and build it yourself. and yes macs are overpriced your paying doulble the price worth of hardware in a mac but I guess thats apart of I life. $2000 for a mac dam. I mean I got a I7 920 foxconn x58 chipset running 6 gigs DDR3 1600mhz thermaltake v8 cpu cooler, 4890 ASUS ATI CARD overclock in a cooler master haf 932 full tower case mod. with a 850 watt PS and 2 one terabytes of harddrive space in raid 0 2nd 500GB vista 64bit price $1600

  • I have installed many a pc. Download drivers at setup? That's a shitty manufacturer. Reading? What? Deleting trial software? Most people never do. Whitlst iMovie may be superior. Vista coms with movie maker and dvd maker. Oh did i say vista? Yep. To bad all of your heads are full of shitty bias that keeps you from realizing that vista isin't that bad.

    *Sighs*

    Off Soapbox now.

  • vista sucks

  • nothing pecial about dvd maker idvd. Sorry PCs Suck!

  • I didn't say there was anything special. Just the fact that Vista has it and it works. Do i use it? Hell No. I use sony DVD architect 3.0 Pro. I have a mac and a pc. However i find that the pc just works. The mac? I gotta trick it to do anything.

  • I have setup PCs too. I didn't need to install drivers (even for my printer). Also, nobody reads the manual (even though any device which is in any way useful comes with one), and deletion of the trial software came over time (although it helps bring down the cost of PCs).

Vista is much like XP if you turn account control off (shock horror) which i did cos i write programs and don't want to keep giving permission to run them.

  • um i upgraded my macbook pro and imac and a lot of my friends just hack pc's to run leopard.

  • Ye, i tried to hack my PC to run leopard too but i've loosed all my data(300 GB of data on my notebook, by the way, there were a Intel Pentium Processor). I can't install it on simple PC. Mac it's just a dream of excellence for me(it costs to much).

  • I bought my computer from HP and it came all prepared. All I had to do was finish Vista's setup. Which took like 5 minutes. Then I installed a game. The whole process was like 15 minutes.

  • i think u only have to setup desktops.

cuz i bought a laptop and everything came installed and ready to go!

  • exactly. all i did to setup my vista was make my account. people who make these shitty things have never used a pc in there life.

  • I mean, if all of the "trial software" is nsuch a prolem uninstall it. I recently got a Alienware M17 (love it) and it had NO trial software.

  • Actually, PCs do have a lot of drivers ... I haven't tried a laptop pc, but the stationed PC takes a shitload of time to set up .

  • [100th comment. whoo!]

lol srry just noticed but I HAVE IMPUT

it only took me LESS than half an hour to understand how to work my PC and set passwords and get it started. i would say maybe, 10 minutes?

  • this is you you build your own computer! it is much more fun!

  • this was funnier

  • This is my favorite one!

  • what are they talking about? all my pcs have worked out of the box. what drivers? what reading? my pcs always just work out of the box.

  • thats because whatever retailer you bought it from has them all set up ready for use.
