Look, my point is that a car is one the things a person uses to communicate social status, OR a set of values.

An older man might buy an expensive sports car to communicate wealth and youth.

Now Mercedes is a high-end luxury brand, typically targeted at businessmen, managers, professionals like that.

Blacks are typically lower-middle class, as are Latino's. A Mercedes in those neighbourhoods is likely to be vandalized out of jealousy and spite.
