just a quick question about rugby what circuit is considered to be the premier or main circuit because I only started watching it recently and rugby sevens is a lot different from this?
@monsterhouse54 there are really two main leagues. the super 16 which is australia, new zealand and south africas regions. there is the pro 12 which is the british, french and italian regional league. but on international scale there is the six nation, wales, england, scotland, ireland, france and italy and also the tri nations between new zealand south africa and australia try to watch a tri nations game if your just getting to know the sport thats where the best rugby is played
I cant imagine many footballl players being good at rugby...you need a different type of fitness to take the hits and get back up again, especially at the high speed it is played at today.
@JulianPower1997 I like rugby better, but There is a reason they were pads in American Football, the only thing you really can't do in football is strike.
But yeah only running back in the NFL would be fit for Rugby.
I have played American football and my brothers have played and it's simple that american football can cause just as many injuries or even more the padding may help a little but as far with the helmets ur head is only getting knocked around and the padding inside the helmet really isn't all that great anyway.
@Pitbull88hockey American football causes MORE injuries than rugby, and a lot of it is BECAUSE of the padding and helmets. Rugby don't do certain kinds of crazy things because they don't have padding--and no substitutes either--and so they have to preserve their bodies so they can keep playing. Football players do those things--like spearing people with their heads--and maybe it doesn't hurt so much at the time, but afterwards it all adds up...your body can only take so much.
Miss tackles are a bitch. Now I know why those USA players are not in the NFL. How the hell do they lose to Canada. I'm embarrassed any time Canada beats any sport besides hockey.
@liamfenwicker Rugby is not like Football, so why say you know why those us player`s aren`t in the NFL, anyways Canada has historically always been much better than the US in rugby thats just the way it is.
I'm Canadian. Enough with the hate from both sides. I saw the game and I thought they both did really well.. none of this * oh this country is better then the other crap * If my fellow Canadians care to be stereotypes towards the Americans, Than perhaps you to should be a stereotype towards yourself and choose to be polite and just accept them, as im sure many of them have accepted us.
Rugby should have cooler looking uniforms, Football, Hockey, they have great uniforms. It's also a smart way to make revenue for your sport. You can't make any money off those uniforms.
@Insaneo78 Yeah, but the only problem is that If you add in cosmetic suits/pads, etc - it becomes reverse football. Short-shorts/ spandex is about the only 'neat' things one can wear if they are personally fit.
@Insaneo78 I definitely think this is true for International Rugby. I think club teams have some cool shirts. Bath, Northampton, Harlequins. I think they're pretty cool looking!
isnt a lap in the face (like they do in american football) considered a fault?, I like how the americans bring some of their american-football technique into the game.
The rugby world championships start this Friday. We took a closer view at the top favorite South Africa and looked for decisions, why the “Springboks“ are so successful. We met the stars, who want to defeat the title. Find the entire story in the new “Red Bulletin“, our Red Bull lifestyle mag.

@rogerfraserr, my preferred game is League, but the fact that any sort of rugby game is being played in North America is great... Union is the traditional rugby game, but League is geared to more gridiron-type plays and tactics (minus the forward passes and blocking, of course)
@jazzx251 In any case, hats off to both the US and Canada for giving it a go- they have had some success in previous years too, especially Canada I think... I've been told that rugby is stronger in Canada than it is in the US
@undertaker1029 i got a question for u americans why u call it football when u allmost never shoot the ball with your foot it looks more like a handball to me and soccer should be called football cuz in soccer most of times u shoot the ball with your foot
@Hysenbelliu91 Football in general is a sport where the ball is pushed moved by the body, historically in fact many types of football could be picked up and ran with.
hahahaha ok yes there are fat peaple in america, but we also have FIT PEAPLE so how bout we say that theres 35 million fit peaple and 250 million fat peaple, we still have more fit peaple then that peace of shit giant ice berg canada
I'm an Aussie, and I think its absolutely fantastic that rugby (union or league) is played in North America, especially Test matches between the US and Canada.... I think the Yanks and the Mooses would much rather rugby league over rugby union though- rugby league is more similar to gridiron at a tactical level, whereas rugby union is more the traditional "rugby" rules of old..
@MrKRH74 im from canada, i love union. I dont know anyone who likes league, its just not played over here. And anyone i know who plays rugby and american football likes rugby better, so it makes sense theyd prefer the kind farthest from football
@MrMarvellousTO No worries- I guessed Union was bigger than League over there, but I never realised that those that play both gridiron and rugby prefer the latter...
@jedherul56 I was thinking that North Americans prefer Rugby League with its 6 "tackles" (downs) and its tactical running game over the more open, free flowing Rugby Union..
LMAO...Canada is ranked 4th in hockey....anyways hockey is for fags, which is why Canada will never dominate in rugby. Canada will never dominate NZ, Aus, South Africa,Wales,Samoa, and many others. Thats like saying Kenya will dominate in hockey...hahaha
@Bushflare : That would be like Lambs to Slaughter haha :) But im English and would like to see us destroy Canada again just like we did at the last RWC :)
Well Canada have a history of beating the Americans into the ground *cough* 1812 *cough* Whilst still under British rule too. Technically they're still part of the Commonwealth.
For more info, see here 'The Difference between the United Kingdom, Great Britain and England Explained' < Good youtube vid.
@KCHIEFTAN Thats such b.s. Guys like miles craigwell was cut by the dolphins and decided to play rugby, not because its a so called "pussy". The elite athletes in america play other sports not rugby. The only people who say american football is "pussy" are usually from people who have never even played it, or played it at a very low level. Rugby is almost non-existent in the u.s compared to american football.
@Bushflare American football is always dominate here in the u.s. Call it pussy all you want but chances are you have never played it. Only ignorant people make judgement without knowing facts. American football IS NOT RUGBY! Its played alot different and the padding is necessary because people have died playing it and it was nearly banned. College and NFL have incredible athletes theres no money in rugby for them. These kids coming out of college are running 100m in 10 sec flat.
Well I'm sorry to disappoint you but I happen to have an American cousin whom plays both Rugby and American Football as hobbies and I have traveled to meet him a few times and played with him and his friends. The rules are essentially clones of the same game and if you remove the armour then the sport becomes on par with Rugby. Fun fact is that boxing became a lot more deadly once people started using gloves and it is the same principle here. Also, being able to run fast isn't relevant.
@ChzHead412 Think of it as american football without downs, it's actually really fun... It just looks odd to watch at first because of what people are used to.
@Garmau5 : First choice, very close to it anyways. USA vs. Ireland should be entertaining... two of the best games I watched at the last world cup actually involved your Ireland; IRE vs Georgia and IRE vs Namibia.
If I remember correctly IRE didn't even make it out of their pool, no? yes?
The Irish commentators on Setanta where even calling them chokers - I know for a fact the USA won't give up in any game, can't really say the same for Ireland, at least going from the last world cup anyways.
@excitationz usa lost 46-3 to Ireland A(our b team) not too long ago so if they get hammered by our B team which is just a bunch of reserves not a chance in hell will they beat our best team
@Stevenbfg : And what were the scores vs. Georgia and Namibia last world cup for Ireland... ? and I rank the USA higher then Namibia... typical thinking Ireland is unstoppable when they usually choke at the WC...
@excitationz umm that was the first world cup ireland didnt quilify to the quarter finals retard and if you think ireland will be the same as they were 4 years ago well all I can say is watch the first match against usa and you will see that they arent and btw how many times have usa hammered england (; oh and ireland defeated namibia 32-17 even though they were playing shite that day so what is exactly is your point about namibia?
@DanielFernandes83 : probably somewhere around that... Ice Hockey, Football, Soccer, Lacrosse, Baseball, Basketball, then maybe Rugby. Canada used to be a top ten nation in International rugby, that is until it went fully professional a decade or so ago.
Bizarre how some of the players on this squad have regular (non-rugby related) jobs - THAT's dedication.
I feel rugby is growing in popularity in Canada & the States, having TSN show this game and the upcoming World Cup can only help = great.
I'm American. I'm guesting you're a bit offended by what I said. And btw Lacrosse=Canada>USA, many NLL players are Canadians. Canada and the USA are both great nations. Just admit Canadian rugby is stronger than American.
@Herb615 Yea, until Americans start actually caring about Rugby and support it. Right now most Americans are totally oblivious to Rugby Union. If we supported it on a national level, all other countries would be eating dirt.
@BBlueu2 lmao guess what there is not one single American forward on the Bruins, all Canadian boys. still don`t understand why you Americans don`t get that your Bruins are 95% Canadian. Your argument lacks any significance. Fail for you.
@BBlueu2 lol im not mad, im not a Canucks fan never have been, never will, im just stating a fact when you ignorantly said te Bruins beat the Canucks, making it sound like the Bruins are an American team when in reality everybody knows the Bruins are an all Canadian team. Canada wins again sorry.
@iLuvBarRefaeli First off, Hockey isn't really popular in the US in comparison to Baseball and especially Football. So yes, it's a national level sport, but there's been talk of shutting down the NHL in the US due to it's severe lack of interest in this country now. Secondly, Americans aren't a race of people - our population is composed of immigrants from all around the world that come here to support this country through hard work, skill, and seeking success. Bruins won, end of story.
@BBlueu2 Okay firstly the NHL will never shut down its making loads of money, and ps Canadian teams pull in the majority of al NHL revenue, secondly who cares about baseball its the least most popular sport here, same as basketball even though a Canadian invented it, lmao you`ve just described every country and its citizens, and ps I was rooting for Boston, they have more Canadians on the team than the Canucks did, which is why they won - More Canadians = better team.
@DouglasEdward84 usa shirt is the scotland shirt (canterbury), canada's one is an imitation of wales original by reebok. But it doesnt matter the shirt u wear, its important these teams are playing a good rugby
@ElliotJackRussel I agree, some of these guys just got signed overseas, Jebb Sinclair(first try scorer) and Chauncey O'Toole will both be playing in the UK next year
i've said it so many times. Emerick is such a good player. he seriously needs to stop playing 7's and someone get him in a pro team in Euro or in the Super15's down here
@aseroxmilez are you saying that paul emerick should play in a super 15 team? are you crazy? ahahah emerick is not that good, he's not even good enough to play in the itm cup.. you americans are so out of the pro rugby reality
pause at 2:00 - im all for the occasionall ass spank celebration, but thats too far todd. great game by the way, im rooting for my canadians and scots at the cup this year! rugby since i was 5, wouldnt have it any other way
@murrrrrray : and the point to that would be? that's like me saying I'd like to see Canada's Men's Olympic team playing New Zealand's mens hockey team, what the bloody point man? you come off as a pompous fool...
@confinedcricket " yes I'm sure you could play for either of these teams right? and I'm sure you play in front of 10,000+ people every game too yes? Give me a break, this wasn't a stellar game for either team, but for you to say it's not as good as your 'amaetur' clubs is over-the-top man.
On the first try, Sinclair was apparently pushed out of bounds so the call was no try, out of the camera view USA apparently took a quick throw in which sailed over everyone's heads and ended back in Sinclair's hands. Bizarre but that's the way I understood it.
@BCRugbyNews thats exactly what happened, there was a deflection on the quick lineout the US was trying to catch Canada off guard with and it ended up with Sinclair I actually think he was in the first time anyway but it made Pritch's conversion easier, i was there live and it still pretty confusing LOL
i am English and will always be on Canada's side in every sport you play against the USA Well done

@Stevenbfg : And what were the scores vs. Georgia and Namibia last world cup for Ireland... ? and I rank the USA higher then Namibia... typical thinking Ireland is unstoppable when they usually choke at the WC...
excitationz 6 months ago
@excitationz umm that was the first world cup ireland didnt quilify to the quarter finals retard and if you think ireland will be the same as they were 4 years ago well all I can say is watch the first match against usa and you will see that they arent and btw how many times have usa hammered england (; oh and ireland defeated namibia 32-17 even though they were playing shite that day so what is exactly is your point about namibia?

in canada rugby is like what? 4th or 5th sport?
DanielFernandes83 6 months ago

Herb615 5 months ago
@Herb615 Yea, until Americans start actually caring about Rugby and support it. Right now most Americans are totally oblivious to Rugby Union. If we supported it on a national level, all other countries would be eating dirt.

@BBlueu2 You suport hockey on a national level, yet your not dominating there.
iLuvBarRefaeli 4 months ago
@iLuvBarRefaeli No, but my Bruins wooped your guys butts for the Stanley Cup :)
BBlueu2 4 months ago
@BBlueu2 lmao guess what there is not one single American forward on the Bruins, all Canadian boys. still don`t understand why you Americans don`t get that your Bruins are 95% Canadian. Your argument lacks any significance. Fail for you.
iLuvBarRefaeli 4 months ago
@iLuvBarRefaeli Haha, someone's mad because they lost ;)
BBlueu2 4 months ago
@BBlueu2 lol im not mad, im not a Canucks fan never have been, never will, im just stating a fact when you ignorantly said te Bruins beat the Canucks, making it sound like the Bruins are an American team when in reality everybody knows the Bruins are an all Canadian team. Canada wins again sorry.
iLuvBarRefaeli 4 months ago
@iLuvBarRefaeli First off, Hockey isn't really popular in the US in comparison to Baseball and especially Football. So yes, it's a national level sport, but there's been talk of shutting down the NHL in the US due to it's severe lack of interest in this country now. Secondly, Americans aren't a race of people - our population is composed of immigrants from all around the world that come here to support this country through hard work, skill, and seeking success. Bruins won, end of story.
BBlueu2 4 months ago
@BBlueu2 Okay firstly the NHL will never shut down its making loads of money, and ps Canadian teams pull in the majority of al NHL revenue, secondly who cares about baseball its the least most popular sport here, same as basketball even though a Canadian invented it, lmao you`ve just described every country and its citizens, and ps I was rooting for Boston, they have more Canadians on the team than the Canucks did, which is why they won - More Canadians = better team.
iLuvBarRefaeli 4 months ago
@iLuvBarRefaeli Glad you're happy the Bruins won - so am I - cheers! :)

it seems scotland vs wales, due to color shirts. So poor they cant have a new shirt only a Six Nations 2nd hand shirt
ElliotJackRussel 6 months ago
@ElliotJackRussel It was a retro jersey for Canada, their World Cup kit will be different, but yes Canada's rugby system does not have much money
DouglasEdward84 6 months ago
@DouglasEdward84 usa shirt is the scotland shirt (canterbury), canada's one is an imitation of wales original by reebok. But it doesnt matter the shirt u wear, its important these teams are playing a good rugby
ElliotJackRussel 6 months ago
@ElliotJackRussel I agree, some of these guys just got signed overseas, Jebb Sinclair(first try scorer) and Chauncey O'Toole will both be playing in the UK next year

confinedcricket 6 months ago
@confinedcricket " yes I'm sure you could play for either of these teams right? and I'm sure you play in front of 10,000+ people every game too yes? Give me a break, this wasn't a stellar game for either team, but for you to say it's not as good as your 'amaetur' clubs is over-the-top man.
excitationz 6 months ago
@excitationz His amateur club wouldn't even take the field in this kind of heat, their blotchy english skin would catch fire...

25664203 6 months ago
great match that was. USA seems to be playing a heavy kicking game this year. Canada had beautiful pressure and drives with the forwards.
demosthenets 7 months ago 4
On the first try, Sinclair was apparently pushed out of bounds so the call was no try, out of the camera view USA apparently took a quick throw in which sailed over everyone's heads and ended back in Sinclair's hands. Bizarre but that's the way I understood it.
BCRugbyNews 7 months ago 7
@BCRugbyNews thats exactly what happened, there was a deflection on the quick lineout the US was trying to catch Canada off guard with and it ended up with Sinclair I actually think he was in the first time anyway but it made Pritch's conversion easier, i was there live and it still pretty confusing LOL
DouglasEdward84 7 months ago
@BCRugbyNews
