@dannyboy768 I don't know the weight, but it is heavier than most guns of today because the body is made out of stainless steel, although the weight is not unbearable. You need an elbow to keep your hopper attached. You can saw down the feed tube to make the profile smaller.
The 68 classic automag is an iconic paintball gun! I bought mine almost 20 years ago and throughout the years have upgraded with a hyper frame and a level 10 bolt. I can shoot any paint w/o chopping. I've owned other guns but find myself still going back to the tried and true Automag. It's never left me on the field stranded. Great gun!
@moorecr8tv They are definitely a blast to play with! I want to pick up another one but I've got school in a month so I'm going to have more expenses than I can afford. :-( I'll have another someday, just not soon.
Hey man i jsut got a couple questions about the automag classic:
1. I could probably saw the feedneck of it down about an inch right? i want to bring the hopper down a bit and sand it off nice and smooth to make it fight good with a 45 degree elbow.
@erg993 Thanks a lot. always have had my eye on one, never knew how they shot or anything but since i held a 68 classic and felt how light and nice and small it is, i was stricken by it.
I've read to solve the problem the 68 classics had with brittle paint is to buy the Level 10 bolt, ever used one?
I have the same chrono: in my experience it's a tad off sometimes, but it's good enough for the field or doing some adjustaments at home. I'm curious to see if you get velocity readings closer to eachother if you use the AGD way of chronoing we talked about on techPB.
How much does a stock Automag Clasic weigh? And does it feed well without putting an elbow between the hopper and the feedneck?

Only 72 fps...

@TheDoiTeam 272 FPS. The Chrono wouldn't even read speeds that low.

2. what barrel threads does it take?
3. How reliable has it been for ya?
4. If it's for sale i'll buy :)
please respond, thanks bro

@cj397 It is pretty common for people to saw down the feednecks.
The Classic Automags actually use twist-lock barrels.
It is fun to play with, but it has a tendancy to chop good paint. Whitebox paint is fine, but don't put anything even slightly more brittle in it.
I actually traded it (plus some cash) for a PM5 a few weeks ago, sorry :(
Check out techpb(dot)com/forum , some nice ones pop up every now and then. If you're feeling lucky, check out eBay. $75-130 dependning on condition.

@cj397 I have not, but if you properly install one, you shouldn't chop paint.

@loganinderrieden23 It only has space for two digits on the screen. Look for the "2" to flash before the second two digits.
