So-called "brahmins" are born "brahmins" and "dalits" are born "dalits." So she can talk until she's blue in the face that caste is not determined at birth but the reality shows otherwise. Yes, the so-called Brahmin caste does tend to be proud of itself and members of that caste are very conscious of their status. They'll say they don't believe in it but they're quick to mention it. Castes are not even really part of the scripture, if I am not mistaken. It was just set up for ease, just one identifies one's arm, leg, head..etc.

In India caste is pervasive in almost every religious group. It has beome intertwined with tribes and clan groups. People tend to marry and associate with people within their own groups and protect thier interests. Yoy see this all over the world. Only in India it has this added mutation of scripture.

If caste is based on work of individuals then why don't you change your surname when your work changes. Caste system is and was always evil. Read history, low caste people were forced into slavery. If a low caste person heard hindu scripture even if by mistake, brahmins used to pour hot liquid mercury in his ears. Low caste people were deemed untouchable, even their shadow was considered dirty. The Hindu Caste System is part of the Hindu 'way of life'. The statement that 'Hindus follow the Vedas' is incorrect. Hindus don't follow Vedas. Hindus follow other Hindus, whom they think knows more than them.

I hate King Birendra Shah. In an attempt to induce caste system among the Kiratis, in the coronation ceremony of his Majesty King Birendra, in 1975, a Limbu was nominated as a Shudra, and a Shrestha as a Vaishya. Subsequently, some Brahmin priests initiated four boys from Rais into Chettri status in total contradiction with the earlier act of treating Limbu. Dasyus were the outlaws - robbers, pirates etc & inhabited the forests & seas, Daas were those who were born into slavery & Aryas were the 'gentiles' who formed a working society- Brahamin, Kshatriya, Vaishya & Shudra were part of Aryan social setup.

Only Brahmins who were rich were the ones who worked as Royal Priests. I am from Kirat tribe. The caste system was created by vedic Aryan especially Brahmins. In Rig Veda book, dating 2000BCE, it is mentioned that Kiratas fought against this system but Kiratas lost the war and so this system has been in existence since.

Why aren't the Shudras allowed to worship the Supreme God in temples? This is a shortcoming of our society not the religion. For example since the Swastika was used by the Nazis doesn't make it bad. Its always is about the people. And as far as Shudra doing a Brahmin's job is akin to an engineer trying to perform a surgery.

i think caste system was based on the type of work people did in those days, lets say ifsome one deals with dead animals and skin them, how can any one toch them and eat from their hands? because those days there were no anti biotics , desease control, just isolation of such people was appropriate, which was blown out of proportions and given a bad picture. i think it was wise in those days. also if some people eat dead animals and some are pure vegetarians, how can they mix up and marry?

It may or may not have been the case thousands of years ago. The problem is that in India, a person's caste IS determined at birth. So-called "brahmins" are born "brahmins" and "dalits" are born "dalits." So she can talk until she's blue in the face that caste is not determined at birth but the reality shows otherwise. Why not just eliminate the whole concept of caste altogether? Even if there were good intentions when setting it up originally, it ultimately turned into a human rights disaster.

Yes, the so-called Brahmin caste does tend to be proud of itself and members of that caste are very conscious of their status. They'll say they don't believe in it but they're quick to mention it. I suppose I'm outside the entire caste system as I'm of European descent, although I'm certain I have some Asian ancestors in my genealogy. I assume that makes me an untouchable.

Castes are not even really part of the scripture, if I am not mistaken. It was just set up for ease, just one identifies one's arm, leg, head..etc.
In my note, I mentioned Society and their thirst to manipulate and control. Now I didn't say everyone in society per se, but as a whole. You must understand society and the truth (hindu sanskrit text) are completely different things. This is why those who teach scriptures are Spiritual Enlightened beings and not normal people found in churches

In ancient Veda text, the Himalayan region extending from Himachal Pradesh in the west, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Nepal, Assam and Tripura in the east to Chittagong in the south was referred as the "Kirat Desh".

The Varna system makes total sense, society is stratified, we cant all be Bramanas, we cant all be Sudra, but Hindus scripture from Sruti and the Bhagavad Gita clearly states that one is according to his/her nature. It is only law books like that of the manu smrti that has has been used to abuse and create a deformed system where some people are opressed.
