hey guitar-s thanks for all your straight-up sunny -side up renditions.i find myself going to u for correct readings.not to say that u don't put your own little darling stamp on each tune u dig....wish i could have a friend like you.....
I.m playing guitar myself for 40 years. I like your playing. Very good. I did'nt know that tere are lyrics for this song. In the sheet music I have there are no words.
Hi Guitaress1, I heard this tune sung by Ruth Young, I think, in the film Let's Get Lost featuring Chet Baker, I loved it and I love your version too. Lovely voice and nice guitar playing. Could I get a copy of the lyrics please ? I took down most of it but there are some lines I can't get. Thanks.
How nice! Didn't know there were lyrics to this tune. I'm enjoying your other tunes and am subscribing. BTW, what part of the country are you based in?
Even the great Djanco couldn't have done a better job at playing those complex chords and singing with such fluidity. Very uplifting and full of joie de vivre!
nice work if you can get it and you... GET IT!!! great swing, i like your vocal performance... beautiful, beautiful!! I'm a jazz singer (better to say - i'm trying) from italy and i'm so crazy about this tune that I play it on every set... unfortunately only scat singin 'cause the original Bill Loughborough's lyrics are missing everywhere.
I would be very lucky If I could sing yours: any chance?
Hi Simone, So nice to hear from you. I never heard the original Bill Loughborough lyrics, maybe they are easier to sing! But these are kinda clever. I put them up in the description box if you want them. They are from a singer named Mary Ann Moore, so I hope it's OK with her.
You make me rediscover one of my favorite tunes, and moreover you give a joyful undertone to a song I (wrongly) believed to be purely melancholy. Wonderful! Your voice literally dances between or above the cool guitar chords.
Thanks Steve. I was in a mood of "just get it done already." Should probably practice BEFORE, but I practice WHILE making videos. So many good songs and not enough time!
Thanks again, Pete. It's one of my unfinished quilts, hanging on a flannel board. When I'm not obsessing on music I make things with fabric and give them away. The colored fabrics are all hand-dyed batiks, going for a stained glass effect. One day I need to finish it for my brother, but now it's hiding my junk!
Lovely!

Ooh just discoverd you! I'm a fan. The only other vocalversion that I know is from Chet Baker but I like this one much more...
Who wrote those lyrics?
All the best
epistrophy007 2 years ago
The lyrics of Chet Bakers version were written by Bill Loughborough. Singer Mary Ann Moore wrote these, beautifully sung by Guitaress1.

Hi Pedro, Your opinion means a lot to me. :-)
I like hot jazz and cool jazz so I guess that makes my blend lukewarm jazz!
guitaress1 3 years ago
You'll turn "lukewarm", usually intended as a reproach, into a very hot quality.

Great choice and performance. I agree that there are too many good songs and not enough time.
I often think that sax players often wanted to be singers, and vice versa.
