  • i use a the extra weight for the beginning of the round so i loosen up

  • I swing a shaft one handed a few times with the right hand and the left hand. That increases club head speed

  • Want to boost your site sales? An Affiliate system is the best tool you can use,My choice would be the GAS system,Because it is the only one easy to install by anyone, all others require high coding skills,Go get it at GAS-AFFILIATEdotCOM and make your site a hit in days.

  • @AramNai Yes sir. A professor at University of Hawaii did numerous studies showing donuts for warmup actually decreases bat speed for that at bat. But yet the pros keep using donuts in the on deck circle.

  • @Cantrell - you're exactly right. It has been shown in numerous studies that swinging a club that heavy will have a short term negative effect on clubhead speed. There is some validity that it can give muscles a great range of motion and that can increase the speed if eventually you can get over the coordination change.

This again proves that the supposed 'top teachers' theories are almost never rooted in any science.

  • @Inmotion70 I'm guessing it's just like a using a donut in baseball. It only feels like you're swinging faster.

  • Hmmmm Hank must have learned something after this video was made because he's now on the "Singnature" infomercial saying the exact opposite about weighted clubs increasing club head speed. Wacky.

  • @gilceezy Uhh no its more likekly that they are paying his ass much moneys to say this lol :)

  • I agreed, it is all about money, they will probably endorse anything if the price is right...

  • yeah vejay does this always this makes you SUPER loose all you really have to do is move the hips and WOOSH comes that club head

  • no. it's because your arms get used to the heavy club and when u pick up a regular club it will feel lighter to your body. Its exactly like in baseball when they use a doughnut weight.

  • It feels lighter but in reality it throws off the sequence of your swing and therefore results in shorter shots. They showed it on Sports Science.

  • @dschultz6072 I'd have to disagree. Most recreational players have spent their entire lives swinging the club 'easy' (slowly) in order to more efficiently execute the compensations they have in their swings; searching for the center of the club face. Yes, square, center strikes will maximize what speed is there, but the idea that 'speed will come naturally in time', is just a myth. Recreational players can't generate speed because they haven't developed the fast twitch muscles to do it

  • i have heard that if you practize with a weighted club immediately before you start you round, you even hit a bit shorter. you have to practise that frequently, not just before.

  • its funny he says a weighted club gives you more club head speed when i saw him on golf channel selling a club that is lighter than standard and is scientifically proven to increase clubhead speed

  • They both increase club speed --- TPI recommends use both.

  • @mesittinhere

The Swing Fan works well, you can add lead tape to it to increase weight.

  • @mesittinhere i know i was thinking the same thing. quite hypocritical

  • if your goal is to hit the ball farther first understand the different kinds of power for ex. there is the power of a baseball bat which is more of a thud power there is the power of a piece of rattan which is more spring loaded and the power of a whip which is a recoil action knowing the source of base of power is the key
