I think I met her in Italy a few weeks ago when we were there. She showed ah me I picture of her and Jackie Onassis in her restaurante. She cooked up such a storm. She said " you eata like a mi familia".
I've been checking out this funny little Italian Mama for 2 or 3 yrs now, she's cute every year...I think everyone should have an aunt like her...thank you for posting this xo
Coming from an Italian family, this is some real funny stuff. But for christ's sake, check the gain on your microphone. The sound is popping like crazy.
Thank you so much! My NONA NEVER swore as much as her...but OMG what a wonderful way to remember! The sound of her broken english is Music to my ears! Thanks SO MUCH!
Thanks for this video that brought back so many wonderful memories of grandma, making all those delicious Italian Christmas treats! No self-respecting Italian-American would even THINK to be offended by this, its wonderful! Buon Natale everyone, and Merry Christmas.
This was great! I'm Italian and loved it. I would love to see one done just like this for the African American culture at Christmas, the Mexican Americans, the Irish, the Brits, the Asians, etc., etc. It would be just as funny for all of them! Hilarious, endearing fun!
It really isn't stereotyping at all. That is a dialect that was picked up by many Italians when they came to this country to learn English. It's a combination of the southern italian (which, especially to those from the north sounds "incorrect") and broken English resulting in a sound that warms my heart and makes me really miss my family members that have passed on.
Love watching this - especially the mention about the strufoli and the honey all over the walls. :-)
humor. It's humor ppl! lighten up! I am an American born Chinese married to an American mutt made up of 50% Italian(from Calabria btw) 33%Irish 33%French and 34% German...who grew up in a 100% Jewish neighborhood in a growing Spanish town. I have been party to many different Christmas/Hanukkah celebrations. You should hear what our celebrations sound like. If you can't laugh at yourself from time to time..who can you laugh at. That's what looking back and reminiscing is all about.
I loved it!!!! brings back some funny and great memories of Aunts long since passed... lol time for people to grow up and realize what is comedy and what is not..this is comedy. Everyone gets upset when the jokes on them but when its some other culture its all in good fun but joke about thier heratage and its "i dont think its funny" or "youre stero typing" who cares. We all need to laugh at ourselves or we will be like those muslim hardliners who get offended and start wars and stuff.
We are Italian and this was on target! This was perfect in every way. I heard many of these same things growing up. Thanks for an enjoyable video. (btw we still make the Christmas ravioli each year).
I find it vulgar and offensive. Why continue to stereotype and tarnish Italian-American imagery in this perverted way? In today's Italy, you would not find this type of lady not even in a small remote village.
@vince8971 Oh My God...get over yourself. It's hilarious. I am Italian American and nothing remotely like this was in my family....but I recognize it from others in the community and on the east coast. It's hysterical. And every Italian I know would laugh out loud and find this endearing. If we can't laugh at ourselves, then we are lost and doomed. Wake up people.
It's "Buon Natale" not "Buona Natale" She may be of Italian heritage, but is not a native Italian. There are several errors in the speaking that point this out. I get it, she's acting and putting on a show. I have a sense of humor, I just personally felt like it was a waste of time.
I get that this brings back memories for a lot of people. I am glad so many of you enjoyed it and that it brought you so much joy. I just find it annoying and not a portrayal of the Italian heritage *I* grew up with
I'm German and Spanish, yet I came from an all-Italian neighborhood in Port Chester, NY and hearing the video and reading the comments makes me homesick.

My grandmother could have invited the marines over and there would still be leftovers! Good thing we had to travel to see her, I would have been 300 lbs if she got her way. Italian women love to make people eat!
