This woman is amazing and she deserves a lot of credit. Why? Because unfortunately there are nowhere near enough people actually DOING something for innocent animals. These are good dogs who don't deserve to die and at least she offers them a home with people who care, so her and her daughters are awesome for that.

I'm proud to live in a city with a great humane society. But, I know there needs to be animal cops in every city. WE NEED MORE ANIMAL COPS!

@Player6331 Dude, Tia's been doing this since even before Animal Planet EVER wanted to give her a reality show. They gave her a reality show BECAUSE she's running that rescue, NOT the other way around. All the money she gets has to be put toward the rescue, whether it's electricity bills, water, dog food, pee gravel for the kennels, vet bills, gas to drive to places, etc. Not everyone in the world is a greedy douchebag, so shut your face.

@ogskeetdizzle No dog on earth has lock jaw, its a total myth. Horses have Tetanus, which is "lockjaw" but not dogs. Now, I understand if you just don't care for the breed in general, I myself also have preferences in what I like in a dog. But I hope your not basing your entire opinion on pit bulls by what your friends dog does. Dogs are like people, their individual with their own personalities and traits, its ALL about how you raise them, and I'd say that about any breed of dog.

They are great dogs, PROVIDING that you start off with a well balanced pup and that you cater to its exercising needs. If you are a lazy, good for nothing loser, don't get these dogs. Mine died over the summer at the age of 14, which is pretty old. Aside from stiffness in the hips, she was a joy to have in our family.

I'm speaking in general. Most people go off and buy a Pit Bull because they know they are aggressive. An aggressive person wants an aggressive dog majority of the time. Many drug dealers own Pit Bulls because they then have a "side-kick" if things get bad on a drug deal or something to that affect....And 99% of dogs chase rabbits. I would as well if I could catch them ;).

Pit Bulls are NOT misunderstood. They are vicious. Aggression is something that is learned (flexible) AND genetic (fixed/hardwired). Don't generalize all pit bulls. I have an Amstaff terrier and had her since she was 4 months old and she's a very sweet dog. People come up to her because she's so friendly. We have a cat, too, and they get along just fine. There are many responsible dog owners who don't get enough credit for their good work.
